- Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute
if you're ready and set
I'll tell you how I became the prince of the vár szigliget
-
In badacsonytomaj i did start my day
and went for a jog to catch the early ray
of the sun as it rose up behind the hegy
now across my mind I drag and dredge (dredge is a verb that means to scoop out muds and weeds from a river bed, here I use it as a metaphor to explain how I am looking back into my mind to find memories about the time I became a prince of the var szigliget)
-
there was a guy named Ferko and his brother Joska
they both lived in the village where I was spending that long summer
I was there to write and to read and to refresh my soul
after the heartbreak of the previous months
I felt that I could use some wine along this journey into personal salvation
or at least I hoped that the grapes would cure something within me
something deep and longing and in need of remedy
for my mind had not recovered, nor my soul, nor body, and least
of all my black and damaged heart, turned to ash by the tragedy.
And yet, given my predilection for wild spurts of euphoria
between the madness of desperate longing, I knew that
there would be plenty of times in the coming days I did not feel so sour
and in fact, that prophecy came to fruition
as I woke up on this particular morning with a spring in my step
completely at ease with the smoothly balanced nature and the basalt cliffs which loomed over a glistening early morning lake
the birds fluttered, and hummed, and chirped overhead
and I began to ease into my jog
it was tough going at first, as although I'd managed to stay relatively sober for the first dismal two weeks of this sojourn (sojourn is a noun that means a temporary stay. we often hear this in old fashioned literature as a time of rest and recovery. for example what the main character of this story, his name is Sebastian Taylor aka Seb Taylor aka Szebi Szabo, is doing at the moment)
.... for although I'd managed to remain (remain... yes, I like that better than stay) relatively sober for the first dismal two weeks of this sojourn, somehow the fatigue of morning was proving to be worse than any masnapos I could think of.
Well eventually the run got easier, and it was just up by the beginning of what is known by locals as the fire path or the ring of fire or the volcano route, on account of the old volcanic, basalt cliffs and crags and craters that comprise the Badcsony Butte, yes, it was up there at the beginning of the trail that I met Joska and Ferko. The two of them cut an odd company together, with Ferko, his dark, jet black hair, chiseled jaw, and long ago ago broken knows creating a slightly sinister disposition. Joska on the other hand was strawberry blonde, ruffled, and skinny as a rail. He did have a pair of ice blue eyes, which I thought would have driven leányok in the surrounding village absolutely mad if not for his pathetic and frail frame. Although, I do suppose some girls are probably into that type of thing. Who really knows, I'm making all of these assumptions, quick, fleeting, subconsciously while I meat these two characters at the bottom of the ring of fire.

I'm absolutely sure, the Hungarian government should employ you (if you are willing of course) as some kind of face of Hungarian Image of Tourism. These videos should reach more people!

Hi Willie. Just wondering, where did you stay in Badacsony?
elias birtok ... nice place... and for your other question I was on a tour with someone from pecs but they don't do tours, it was a special case
Csodálatos a rajongásod a magyar történelem, irodalom, a regék, a borok és minden iránt. Nagyvázsonyban jártál már? A Kinizsi várat érdemes megnézni, de sok egyéb történelmi emlék is található a környéken.
I've been with my Hungarian wife for 17 years, and I still don't understand her. I am Czech so we communicate in English...
Szívesen interjúznánk veled a Vallató rovatunkban :)
Bebaszok.😅
