Same. Although my one girl is like a ragdoll and just kinda goes like let's get this over with and doesnt care much about being picked up or touched. But my other girl will kick you like a mule when you go to pick her up, although she loves cuddles and scratches.

Seeing this reminds me so much of when I had my first pig Merlin. I had him for five years, then I lost him a month ago to a tumor on his jaw. Some days he liked being picked up, and sometimes he didn’t.

My guinea pigs are scared to be picked up but when they are in my arms they realize it is safe
With my last piggies, training them to willingly get in my hand was fairly easy, since I started it when they were babies. It didn't take long for them to connect floor time with my asking if they wanted to come out to play. Eventually, they didn't need verbal prompting, as my reaching into the cage with my hand open was all that was needed.
I loved this video!! My 5 1/2 year old Butterscotch passed away on March 20th the first day of spring while sitting next to me watching TV. It was a complete shock and everyday I still cry. Mornings are hard and evenings on weekdays because we had a good routine going and on the weekends it was a different routine. Tonight I had to work late and for a second I forgot she was gone and I looked at the clock thinking, "poor Butter, I hope she has enough pellets left" and then it dawns on me that she is gone. I drive to work crying every morning and when I go to bed and do not see her huge cage I start to cry. I shouldn't watch these videos but, I do and I love your's and so cool this one was made today. About the time she passed away my brother had been released from the hosp after a 146 day stay after a horrible brain injury as a result of a fall while at his job. I do count my blessings everyday and thank God he is alive and I try my best not to cry over Butterscotch. I live alone, no hubby, no children and she was my gurly girl I use to call her. She was a great source of comfort and companionship and she knew words and if she was running around in the dining room and it was time for us to both turn in for the night - I would call her and she would come and stand at my ankles, sometimes she would lick my ankle and I would just bend down and pick her up. She never tried to run away. But, boy, was she a biter. I sware she would bite down to my bone. She was a trip. Thank you for another wonderful video. It brought a nice end to my evening tonight. I would much rather watch guinea pig videos then videos of babies doing crazy things. Also I love your voice and I try to imagine what you look like. Sincerely, Rebekah in Alexandria City, VA

I’ve had 2 guinea pigs who would jump into my hands & arms. One was because he knew that he would then be put in the floor for floortime and get to run around & explore. The other (current piggy Digger) does it because he loves a snuggle. 😍

One of my girls needs attention like she needs food, so she loves being picked up. My other one loves being held and loved, but HATES being picked up, and she runs into the corner of the cage where I can't reach her. I feel bad because I feel like I'm blatantly favoring the first pig, but, well, you won't let me love you!

I’m relieved to know that you use the same philosophy that I can’t help but follow. When we 1st Rescued our 1st 3 lil Girl Babies 2 yrs ago we were admittedly way behind the Learning Curve. So, when it finally hit me to look for Videos it has been so helpful. I get very attached to all the Piggies my Daughter & I watch on all of the great Videos, so you can imagine how attached I am to ours lil one’s now. I still have trouble talking about it & it’s been 6 mos since we lost our feisty little Addy. We were so inexperienced, I worried so much & still have guilt that I should have realized earlier that she wasn’t well. But, she was our extremely dominant Girl from the start. So, now we wonder if maybe she could have had pain problems along her growth that could have effected her grumpy moods. The guilt was really plaguing me, our other Girls seemed sad too. So my Daughter suggested we rescue another Piggy, & that has helped a lot. People just don’t really how distinctive, & adorable each of their Personalities can be. They are a JOY to care for & love aren’t they? There are so many that need good Homes, I am thrilled that your videos display how happy they can make your life, & wonderful it is to have them in your family. Their Care IS a huge Responsibility for anyone thinking of Rescuing a Homeless, lil one. Please remember to try to rescue 2 Piggies that are bonded well, because they can get lonely when you are away. We were so shocked by how much our new Baby craves Attention & Affection, because our 2 yr old Girls are so fickle. They don’t like to be held, & definitely want to know that you are slowly approaching to pet them. So, it has been a THRILL to be begged back to the Enclosure just for “Soft Loves”, what we call gently, resentful petting. But, he has not warmed up to being held AT all. &, we don’t have the Boy w/the Girls yet. I am having some serious anxiety about the Neutering Surgery. For those who have had it go well, letting me know would be very helpful. But, I just wanted to say a sincere Thank You for your Videos! I adore your Little Piggies, Each 1, & how you interact w/them is a pleasure to watch. Oh, we love your Enclosure as well! Blessings Everyone! 🕊💞😊🌺🦋🌻🌷🐝

Mine can be touched but they Always run when i try to pick them up, but usually want to go on Little adventures when i pick them up. They honestly dont want to go back they just want to run around somewhere else and explore
I live in an apartment, so I sadly dont have enough room for piggies. But I'm happy that I can watch yours so thank you for that 😁

My childhood piggy Lisa(who Nugget reminds me of which is why she's my favorite) didn't mind being picked up. When she would stand up on the side of her enclosure I would just scoop her right up and carry her around on my chest. She was so sweet.

Thank you for this video. My guinea pigs hate to be picked up. One, Panda, will eat out of my hand. But Sunny will run, even if I have their favorite, cilantro. I don’t force them to be picked up. I thought it was something I did or didn’t do. But now I see it is just their personalities.

I live hearing them talk to each other I wish I had room for a herd but I really only have enough room for 2 in my small apartment. They don't talk to each other to much unless the one is in heat, then she rumble struts a bit, tho now that she's approaching 2 years old that has really slowed down
My boys do not like being picked up. Over time I've gotten better at cornering them when I really need to get them. Sometimes they will let me pet them, especially when I'm careful to announce my presence and don't sneak up on them.

Getting caught is contrary to their nature. But once they know you, mind less being held. Popping about comes of being happy and relaxed, but also to show how well they can escape. Instinctive behaviors modify in learned ones, by their knowing what to expect that we identify as the degree of being tame. They consider it the measure of how much to trust you. This is important to them, as we are very large food bringers that may snatch them into the air unexpectedly.

I had a pig, well a boar really he was hUuge.
He would come and Hop into your cupped hands.
I also had a female who hated being scooped up.
I think in general pray animals like pigs dislike the very beginning of being picked up becuase its instinct to fear that.
But I also think pigs are smart enough to learn not to fear it SOMEtimes.
They have personalities after all.
Also pigs can jump over a foot if they need to, so be careful when you scoop :3
