I respect that France prioritize the club game, and the results speak for themselves in terms of the contracts they can offer and viewership / attendance. However, there needs to be a balance. These clubs should not be holding players hostage for these tours. It really does a disservice to the host team. Either they need to rest these guys during the season, as SA does, or better manage game time so they aren't completely burnt out by end of season and can still go on the outbound tours.

Makazola and Sasha can both play fullback. Sasha can play 10,12, and 15. Makazola 11,14, and 15 did it for the Sharks. Jesse Kriel can also cover wing and fullback. Rassie will always ensure that their are enough fullback experience in all his side on the day. Cheslin, Kurtley, Moody, and Willie can play wing and fullback, and also at 10. Rassie will always ensure enough utility amongst forwards and backs, only the hookers and Eben who are specialized in their positions, and some of the props.
I think what's going on at Racing 92 is what's happening with Sharks in SA. Signed a bunch of stars and bundled them together and expect results. Rugby is a team sport and so the players you get need to jell.

this is not clubs not letting them, the national team has come up with an elite "20" where they get extra rest periods
