"Am I after this podcast a Dan Biggar fan, or a Biggar Dan fan?"
Dan's insights are really good đ
đ
I liked Biggars Gees when they came to SA. They fronted and were physical and he lead that. Top man. Ans him Goodey and BJ make great show.
Brilliant

The greatest honour in South Africa is not to be the president, or to be the king, its to be a Springbok đđ«¶đ

Dan Bigger is an incredible addition to this pod big Jim!
Us South Africans absolutely love Jim Hamilton and Dan Biggar both for their incredible contributions in Rugby and for their pure humble ways. You boys should really be top pundits because you set incredible examples for everyone as male role models!
Humble? Thatâs debatable. Contributions to rugby .. thatâs fair
@@Sineadhawk well we are used to the arrogance of New Zealand pundits, so yeah in comparison they are humble
Definitely bro
We love them because they're complimentary to our heroes. We love being flirted with
Love this podcast. Genuine rugby lovers celebrating what makes rugby great. Dan Biggar never heard you speak before, you are a revelation as a presenter. Keep on doing this.
Need to do more of these full video pods on CZcams.
Just curious, where do they post it? Always wondered where they end up if not on YT
@@PJSO they normally just post clips here snd there
@@shaldon93 yeah I know, I asked where the Podcast is actually posted. Ive googled it so no worries.
@@PJSO oh sorry man I misunderstood. It's on Spotify
They make more money from Spotify. So there only ever gonna post clips on CZcams
Big Jim is a great interviewer đ đ đ đ
Eben and Vince echo the importance of our springbok senior players giving confidence to the young sharks, so impressed with their mature performance and win at the stoop
I think that Pieter Steph Du Toit deserved a mention in that final, he was a warrior !
Jordie Barrett still hasn't left his house in fear of getting blindsided.
@@sandorclegane3658 Jordie Eina Barret you mean
Itâs apt he didnât. Thatâs the humility of PSDT. But everyone who watched that game will never forget. Absolute legend and role model in the true spirit of Mandela
Maybe an interview with Pieter is in the pipeline đ
He was amazing
As a Welshman and someone who knew Dan and his family I knew what a lovely guy he is so Iâm thrilled to see how well received he is off the pitch
Gotta say Im lovin this new SA v Ireland rivalry . The Springboks are such a huge team and for Ireland to even be close to their level is amazing. Cant wait for the tour later this year. Great interview men đ
As much as I love bantering them leprechauns I fully agree
We don't see Ireland as our rivals
@@lalilali9917 We do.
@@lalilali9917yes we do
Deon Fourie is such a good story, and such a good example of the really high baseline ability that so many SA rugby players have. They really churn out so many, itâs incredible and a challenge for everyone else to find a way to compete
Dan Bigger was a great addition. What a chilled guy. Makes it feel like the Boks Office, just mates hanging out chatting rugby and dissing each other in between đ€Łđ€Ł
Everybody on this Pod is Class.
Thank you.
What an amazing interview, am a proud Sourh African leaving in the UK and having a deeper insight to what the boys bring was awesome. Thank you for the amazing work you do Big Jim. Can't wait to see the interviews you had with Pieter Steph and Ardi đ
After this interview you canât tell me Clermont is the reason the Sharks won⊠đżđŠđȘ rugby journalism at its finest, cheers lads
It was great seeing Eben, Vincent and the rest of the Sharks' Boks really step up in the second half of Challenge Cup semi-final. That last try was great and set up by Eben's great take in the air!
The Springbok selectors are going to have an ever increasing dilemma in 5 yrs from now. The pool of young players being inspired, is MASSIVE
One of the Best games I have ever seen, of course there are others, but SA vs WAL 2019, amazing tactical games ever.
2011, 2015 and 2019.
Our RWC games against the Welsh have been crackers.
Thanks Big Jim for the quality content to always look forward to. You are rugbys Dana White. Still a fan

Respect for Jim and Danđđđ
Loving Dan as a part of the team. Makes my favourite rugby pod even better. Cheers lads, love your work!
Awesome stuff Jim & Dan, great interview
Jim and Dan are class!!! Thanks from đżđŠ
Eben and Vincent are super humble guys. The way they speak of their teammates and South Africa as a whole is amazing. I love you guys, keep SAns smiling through rugby.
By this interview he doesnât sound humble
@@Sineadhawk is this because of the comments about Ireland?
@@aphiwemagengelele2975 and Courtney .. Wild how Eben remembered to count 12 players out of 23.. after an adrenaline filled game⊠I suspect one might have said something like hope to see you in the final. I think Eben should name the 12.. see how accurate his memory is then
@@Sineadhawk he said "PROBABLY 12 PLAYERS" This to me suggests that he is not sure of the exact number. Did you ever think, what if he is right? Would that change how you feel about him and start considering that Irish players need to be humble? I it would be better to wait for Ireland players to respond. For now i have not heard any response which makes me think Eben is not lying.
@@aphiwemagengelele2975 ah stop đ donât use semantics as a cop out. Even saying 12 seems oddly specific.. I think he should come out and name then.. seeing as he has a fantastic memory⊠and you canât say irish players need to humble on the backend of a bok making a comment that is more than likely untrue .. show me one piece of evidence or even pre or post game media with irish players interviews .. you wonât find any that backs up your claim.
Brilliant . Jim you are a legend. Dan Biggar, awesome guy, great addition. I was in the stadium at that game at Loftus and we all loved you since then. Could literally see your passion and enjoyment that game. Was awesome. Love from SA
Love Dan's input. No bias, just a player.

Yes until the plan work....
Really nice people.Respect
Nice work Jim
I think the best strategy for this channel is: post the podcast on your partner platform. 2. Post it on CZcams free a week later - this is where you'll build an actual audience
Another brilliant podcast Jim, almost a full-hour long. Wondeful to see 4 ruggers just having casual honest chats. Great to see the 2-time WC winners who are also fathers and to hear their experiences. Again, great content. Keep up the beautiful work....Any chance we're getting the interview with the lads in Japan soon?
I'm glad Dan Biggar is agreeing with that the Springbok way is the winning way. Some people may disagree, and their welcome to it, but what is annoying is how a lot of people are trying to force rugby to be more running rugby. You can have running rugby and power rugby at the same time. That's what makes rugby union so great. Otherwise we would all be just playing rugby league.
south africa is a beautiful flawed wonderful thing
as are you two
Dan - I echo you. That Loftus game in 2022 was OUT OF THIS WORLD!
My sister met Dan and Zammit that night in Cape Town! Awesome guys!
that is called South African exceptionalism! great stuff
It amazes me how Dan Biggar who could be such an a*-hole on the field, can be such an utterly nice guy off it đ. Great show! Keep 'em coming, Jim!
Brilliant
Big ups to the Springboks for having depth in many positions. Jessie Kreil 2003 and Lukhanyo Am 2019. World Cup winners at 13đđđ
I really love Dan Bigger on the show. Adds a lot.
Jim and Dan should try become coaches because they love this game so much
See you guys in the final was a compliment to South Africa. It wasnt arrogance . Eben took it wrong
I suppose coz so many of them said it, probably seemed a bit too confident. But yeah it is possible that Eben just took it the wrong way.
đđ
I think so too but he wasnât being mean or taunting about and also Jim knew exactly what he was doing by asking him if he remembered what Eben said to him at the time.
Lies. They looked beyond the ABs. Rookie move. They should never have said that either way, no matter the context. Especially because a lot of them said it
It may have been intended as a compliment to the Springboks. But it was based on the assumption that they themselves would be in the final and that simply signalled to Eben that they might not be as focussed on the AB game as they needed to be. So, he didn't take what they said the "wrong way", he just read from it something about their mindset at the time and his resultant conclusion about the possible outcome of the AB game turned out to be accurate.
Jim is a bloody good host. Dan also.
All such decent and humble guys - all a credit to the game of rugby.
In either 2014 or 2015, I unfortunately had to disturb Eben for a photo while he was on winter holiday at Avalon Springsđđđ
Still have the photo, worth itđȘđ€
I still google the slap fest between Jim and Eben in Nelspruitđđ
Dan Biggar deserves all the praise in the comments. Use him more
Anybody know where an American can watch Chasing the Sun 2? Is it available for purchase somewhere?
How humble is Dan Biggar?
Hosted by, what it seems, two huge Bok fans lol. Love it.
Rugby lovers who respect other teams and players.
Fantastic podcast Dan to Eben and Vinne, why can Bafana Bafana not do the same ???????. Rugby was not popular amongst the majority of the South Africans, yet when the Springboks play in the WC and win South Africans go crazy.
Another great reason to be proud to be a Springbok fan is to know our team won 50% of RWC tournaments they had participated in and the "greatest team on the planet" won 3 out of 10. Like 30%. Did we mention they played in 2 wold cups more than the Boks. Its like getting into the ring with Mike Tyson in 1989, get your face smashed in and say he fought unfair and then brand yourself the greatest boxer of all time. Nah, not even close. đđ
Glad to see Ireland are living rent free in Ebens head.
You'd think he'd be happy with a WC win đ
"The one thing People love more than a champion is to see a champion fail, fall, die trying. In spite of everything you've done for them, eventually they will hate you."
Of course we have a long way to go. SA has been in a unique situation. Racism was written in our constitution as law. Then we had one party who has been credited with overturning that. Then to be given too much power is very unhealthy as we can see. Our masses still suffering. But the fact that there's fragmentation might look like there's no unity, but I see it as people thinking for themselves and wanting change. We never thought it would be possible 20 years ago. So it's a positive. That is the journey unfortunately we are going through because the 80% of people are transitioning from still trusting from the experience in the past. We all have to play a part in making the transition. We can't afford to stand aside and complain
â€ïž
â€
Guy like rassie , is what this country need. He proved beyond doubts that he loves his country. Not this politicians who uses people for their own personal enrichment. If rassie could be a president ,I will definitely support him. We need such people, problem with SA white is racism and having guy like rassie to break that we see someone like Mandela doing it from our side but rassie on the other side seems great.
If you know anything about rugby you will know the scrum is all about the tide head and not about the lose head
So thank you Vincent for the win over England it was all about you and nobody give you the credit The same with the turnaround for the Sharks We almost lost the WC đźđź
Dan Biggar is actually a lekker oke ey
You got an interview with Mr Incredible....
Its funny that people forget how bad the boks were at the middle beginning of ebens bok career. This guy fought hard for long.
48:40 pure comedy gold đ€Ł
It was actually 2 penalties that SA beat Wales with in 2019. With the 2nd penalty the Boks chose to kick the ball out because no more points were needed to win.
So 1 then?
19-16
@@mvubu6823 The second penalty allowed the Boks to seal the victory without needing to kick for posts. At the end of the game the Boks were camping in Wales' 20m zone and won a scrum penalty, which they could easily have converted into points and which would have then increased the score difference to 6. Because they didn't need the points and rather than taking the risk of a possible rebound off the posts, they elected to kick the ball out because time was up. This fact points to a slightly more comfortable win than what the 3-point score difference shows.
@@johnjames6620 but not in the view of 3 players who actually played in the game and are giving their thoughts?
There was nothing comfortable about that win.
@@mvubu6823 Actually Eben and Vincent didn't give a response to Dan's comment on the issue of Wales losing by only 1 penalty. My response was specific to the words that Dan used which was that it was just 1 penalty (not one score) that prevented Wales from going to the final of the RWC.
Now, in the first place his comment is technically incorrect (whether you played the game or not) because in the absence of the (converted) penalty that he was referencing, the scores would have been drawn and, therefore, this specific penalty did not, on its own, prevent Wales from going into the final, because more work would have been required for them to have got there
In the second place, penalty does not necessarily mean points on the score board and I was making the point that SA won because of 2 decisive penalties, being firstly the one that increased their tally to 19 points and the second being the scrum penalty that allowed them to kick the ball out and end the game.
The drive the point home, should SA had elected to go for posts with the final penalty and in the event of them being successful, it would have then increased the score differential to 6 points, meaning that Wales would have needed a converted try to win the game.
@@johnjames6620 they kicked the ball out because it was a 3 point game
Hit the post and game continues with the slightest chance Wales could still win.
You're trying to prove an irrelevant point. SA was never in control of that game. We scraped through and got off the pitch the moment they could.
Score was 19-16
There's no guarantee of a kick going over which is why they kicked it out
What achievement is it to win with an extra 3 points at the end of a death match ?
The most important thing about rugby is to not lose its identity. It's supposed to be violent, it's supposed to be a clash of titans. If you like running rugby then league is your game. Rugby union is original and should stay that way
I'm all for bringing tech into making accurate on field decisions though. I think that's where rugby is losing its audience. Below par officiating.
Make the rules safer, simpler and easier to understand and you will bring the full coliseum again
Elizabedi maak hom vas ..Time to come home Eben . Stormers is your real homeđź
Your answer to the question why they winning those 1 point games is very much what they sayingâŠ. One more thing and the most important thing is they all winners at this game in their own positions and Rassie is a winner, and that is a G. D given gift. That 1 point , that player who scores when he beats the odds⊠thatâs a gift.
The late Kitch Kristie also had that gift in rugbyâŠ.Rassie and Kitch see who those winners are and weâre and choose themâŠ
Can really get into rugby podcasts. Subbed.
It's really silly but you kind of expect these freakish huge guys like Etzebeth to be a bit dumb, like all his biology points went into bulk and power - but then he speaks as eloquently as anything. Dunno if the stereotype was ever true or it's just the movies and TV we grew up with, but hearing rugby legends speak and seeing kindness and humility is really refreshing. I compare this to some of the fitness/bodybuilding influencers online and its night and day.
"See you in the final" is a tongue in cheek comment. Silly stuff

Watching this make you realize once again.....can't judge a book by it cover.
Big Jim I started following you during the rwc, love your pod can't wait to watch your Japan interviews with PSDT and DDA.
The amount of random things that had to go south Africa's way for them to win three games by one point in a row hasto be a mathematical impossibility đ
Poor Off the Ball ireland crapping their panties over this interview
note to rugby world: flattering saffas will get you everywhere.
And make it easier to beat them. Saffas struggle being favorites but find their inner mongrel when their backs are against the wall.
Your partner in growth, no matter how crazy the idea! đ
The Springboks is a TRAIN. Can start slow, but once we get our 1st try (biggest secret) - the train gets momentum, and momentum, and momentum, - and the speed keeps increasing and increasing, this is why it's hard to stop the Boks. You can see the Irish never experienced THIS in a world cup, even after defeating the Boks - you can see it on all their faces. "like WTF" Why we sing this song at all our world cups. "Shosholoza"
Listen, that smile is definitely gonna last a year, one day? Haha no. Thanx for making us happy.
Why? The weather, the proper food including meat, the outdoor life, good school sport as a must, the physical attributes of the Afrikaans people and initially the wish to get one back over the rooineks (British oligarchic empire). A very dirty war created by the oligarchs of the Empire is never forgotten. Now we jointly have the same problem via the current oligarchs based mainly in American Empire nowadays.
