good to see Nanlite getting a bit more info out in the public. We've got a few of the 60's - love them. Question re output when fan is turned off. All of ours drop exactly 1 stop of light - my math's says that's then 50% output, not 80%? (not a dig, just trying to understand why I seem to only get 50% output) Also, the head fan in the 300 - is that louder/quieter or the same as the 60? looking to add a couple of 300w LEDs to the mix but can't try the Forza 300's without purchasing first so any help would be awesome
I have both 60 n 300. 300 fan is amazing quieter than 60. But do remember it has a controller with the ac adaptor (contains fan) which has some sound but it is usually cover by the controller.
Hi Jeff, I spoke with the Nanlite engineers and they say the light doesn't dim as low as 50%. It's only 1/3 stop of light that is lost when the fan is turned off.
@@barrygarciananlite3471 Thanks Barry. Hmm, ours all dim exactly 1 stop. And I've taken readings with the fan off and fan on - fan off maximum reading is the same as 48% with the fan on.
These lights are constant output. So technically the answer is yes to using for still photography. Bu tyou do not need a trigger, as they are always on.
The RC, controls all the Nanlite products:all forzas and pavo tubes. It has 512 DMX addressees, so its pretty useful. Downside is, you cant dial the DMX via numbers, just tap and hold go forward to the desired number, but overall is perfect RC. In a flat it works ~ 5 meters. Clear sight more than 10 meters.
Hi! No, sorry. The reflector and the softbox can only be used one at a time. The interior of the softbox is a silver surface, and is optimized to increase output. Keep in mind, you can use the softbox without the diffuser, too, to act as a larger reflector.
Hi Barry, are you sure about remote turning light on and off??? My remote dims the light but not turning it on or off. End up never using it wast of $50 for me for now. I am one of the first buyers of this units could be it need's a firmware update???
Hi Greg, You are correct the remote does not turn the light on or off. The remote has the dimmer feature to turn the light down to zero if needed. As of right now I don't believe there is a firmware upgrade for the remote.
These lights have really good reviews however, almost everyone who has purchased the battery mount for the Forza 60s has said how cheaply made and ‘plasticky’ it is- apparently the NP batteries keep getting stuck in it... What’s your experience with it and is Nanlite looking to fix this?
@@barrygarciananlite3471 Any news on the new battery handle for the Forza 60? Also, it doesn't say anywhere how long does, say, x2 NPF-770 batteries will run the Forza 60 for? [@100% & 50% power?].

You need a wi-fi router in order to connect to the nanlite devices. A wi-fi router which is made by Nanlite, and which allows you to connect to the wi-fi network and use a mobile app NANGUANG (or something like that) to control all the Nanlite light devices

Aha! Thanks so much for answering and TOTALLY YES to all of your scenarios (and more). You can gel it to make different "looks" and the new bi-color version of this coming very soon will eliminate the need for color correction gels. Also many effects like lightning. So fun. Very useful!
Cant find any info on that Vmount plate ...

Are there any plans on producing a bigger softbox for the Forza 60?
Hi Andreas, I will check with Nanlite and see. As of right now no plans yet.
@@barrygarciananlite3471 Ok, that's too bad.
There is a Bowens mount adapter coming now :)
@@kenspo Hi Kenneth Yes, they have a new adaptor for placing larger Bowens mount soft boxes on the Forza 60. It should be released soon.
With the v mount battery plate in place, does it block the bottom of handle to connect to a light stand?
No the light still attaches to a stand with no issue. You can use any size V-mount that is 14.8V.
When the fan is off I loose 20% or 50% of brightness? Is good as a key light in a small room without fan?
Can use with trigger for photography?

Is the wireless receiver available in the us yet? & does the remote work without it on the light and other forza lights 300/500?
Ledgo / Nanlite controller is the same thing. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1492259-REG/ledgo_wifi_lga_30_2_4g_transfer_device.html

What battery used on this Light outdoor on location???
Hi, The battery's used for the Forza 60 & 60B were the L-series batteries. Either the 770 or the 970 batteries.
Is it possible to use smartphone for controlling this light without WiFi controller?
Hi Dejan, No, you will have to use the wireless controller, if you use the app.
The remote control is able to on /off light? I cant find except dimming only
Hi Andugo, I should clarify it does not turn the light all the way off just dims the light down to zero.
Is it possible to mount the softbox on the Forza 60 with the reflector too to optimize light output? Thank you
