Just some trivia regarding the 318 engine block. Usually they are a bulletproof thickwall engine block. When we were building them doing Different Strokes in the eighties and nineties, we would Sonic check the cylinder walls and boy you could really bore those things out far. They were also great blocks to hit with nitrous oxide. Again because they were thick cylinder walls and far less prone to crack or distort
