    I drove tractor trailers for over a million miles and pickup truck gurus always crack me up ,a an F 150 will pull 30000 pounds just don't try to stop it or take turns at normal speeds weight is all about tires and brakes and most people neglect both, standard truck tires aren't made for big loads and fools usually find this out the hard way , 10 ply tires will make the truck safer but do nothing for braking, that's why every Super Duty I've ever owned has been governed by Ford at 96 MPH they know the tires wont take much more than that for long , just trying to save few lives , I've seen too many lost on the road

    Holy cow what great timing! I just took a bunch of demo rubble to my local dump. I knew it was a little sketchy when my 22 platinum (with the avs system) looked like it had a Carolina squat to it. Turned out when I was weighing prior to entering the dump I was hauling 1.57 tons not including my truck. The truck did great, but I’d never do that again. It just felt really weird.

    I was towing a 33 foot boat and it weighs 11000 pounds and my TRD pro did went down more than 3 inches. But now I installed the air bag on it . I don’t see any squares any more and gave me a nice ride, even I put 1500 pounds all I have to do just pump more air in to the airbag. I think you should get on e for you tundra.

    Hello TRD JON!
    Did you actually look at the 3 stickers on the driver's door more closely? If you look at the middle sticker. TIRE AND LOADING IMFORMATION STICKER. In the middle right above the red rectangular border it states. The combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed. Right next to it will be the weight in both kg and lbs that your truck can carry. Now look at the solid yellow sticker at the bottom. This will show any weight that must be subtracted from that total carrying capacity. These numbers are VIN specific to your truck.

      I hope I made this so it was not confusing. I just picked up my 2023 Tundra Limited 2 days. And I have been really keeping an eye on making sure that whatever I put in my truck for loadouts for road trips does not exceed my load weight. Which is 1390lbs minus 11lbs for factory addons which equals 1379lbs total. Thanks for the good content
      Wayne D.

  • @killermobiledetailing2795

    Dude, your pay load is on the side of your door of the driver side. They tell you how much you can carry no need for all that and buy experience. If you go over your capacity for too long, you can break the springs and driveshaft they will feel like he just had a crash, I Nissan titan couldn’t handle it with over 2000 pounds Ford and Toyota can handle it but you always have to make sure the shackles or tighten after you’vecarry a full load that’s what gets loose after a while if you go over the weight always carry the heaviest weight away from the door. I’ve been doing this for 30 years carry payload every day all day 2000 pounds by experience so far out of all the trucks I’ve had of different brands Ford is the way to go and I had a lot of Toyota‘s before.

  • @arhamkhakwani5851
    @arhamkhakwani5851 Před rokem +2

    The thing is Toyota downplays their numbers. Usually the payload and GWR is slightly more than the sticker, and that’s because well Toyota is a conservative company.
    Before the truckers come attack me, I am not a truck guy per se, but usually Toyota undercuts the real number.

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  Před rokem

      I think most manufacturers do though just so people don’t go even more over the top on what they do with their trucks

    • @waynedaniels573
      @waynedaniels573 Před rokem

      Yes Toyota is very conservative on their payload numbers. Usually by a couple hundred pounds. I don't know how other manufacturers do their stickers. But I do that Toyota stickers are Vin# Specific to that vehicle. Online weights are just pretty much specific to the vehicle trim and that any packages will subtract from the trim level. For example if you add TRD off road package, Tonneau cover, Panoramic moonroof and so on. Each of those items weights will be subtracted from the base trim level weight to give you a total for the truck VIN# payload. So the online base trim level weight is just a guidline. Not the true purchased truck's payload.

  • @yyfreak1637
    @yyfreak1637 Před rokem

    Getting up to speed with max payload is not a good test at all. These trucks can pull much more than 2000 lbs.

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  Před rokem +2

      Pull yes. This is payload. Bit of a difference

    • @RalphCesenaJr
      @RalphCesenaJr Před 7 měsíci

      Pulling (towing capacity) and hauling (payload capacity) are two completely different things. Payload basically reflects what the rear axle can handle with regards to weight (without damaging the axle or suspension)

  • @Nadnad6996
    @Nadnad6996 Před 10 měsíci +3

    Pointless video… It should state the trucks actually payload on the door sticker and it’s there for a reason….

  • @RalphCesenaJr
    @RalphCesenaJr Před 7 měsíci

    You should take down this video because it demonstrates and even glorifies ignorant behavior regarding respecting payload capacity limits and the danger you create for yourself and others when you haul a load this grossly over payload capacity. Its kind of embarrassing for you because what you experienced had nothing to do with your shocks not being able to handle the load (they were not designed to handle that much weight safely). What you did is not something to boast about. It was irresponsible.
