I experipented with cloud nine golduck with ice beam, scald, and focus sash to check primal groudon and mega ray back in gen 7 AG
Always a good Blip video when you see Swadloon, the bug pokemon I know best as having higher attack and HP than Onix, but is also slower than that same Onix.

Aerodactyl was orignally part of the video (As was Rotom Fan) but aero had to be cut, as it took up wayyyy to much screen time. But a solo aero video is a sure possibility.

There is a Bug/Grass niche in Gen 4 Ubers: Dry Skin Parasect. It slurps up Specs Kyogre's STAB and forces it to switch out, lest it get Spored or humiliatingly killed. Unfortunately if Kyogre isn't using a Choice item or is locked into a non-Water move, Parasect is screwed, which is why it's just a niche.
If Swadloon is viable that means I can sacrifice bulk and attack and speed and usability and use my favorite mon Sewaddle and technically be using a niche pokemon instead of complete trash. If you squint at least

what i remember is that the bug grass typing quad resists ground stab and in the meta of hackmons it receiving makes it immune to fire, thus shutting down P-groudon's 2 STABs@@shattermelon496 im just going to assume this is about an intentional mispronunciation in the video i saw 2 or so days ago and that your joke fell completely flat. honestly i dont care enough and having my fav grumpy cozy mon having a small claim in a competitive tier made me happy

My favourite balanced hackmons set was a level 1 mega alakazam, with prankster, spikey shield, taunt, encore and destiny bond. It existed solely to be a hard counter to setup sweepers that dont use priority. And sturdy shedinja.
If i were to make the set again nowadays, i would use hisuian zoroark for immunities to e-speed and shadow sneak
I made a couple hackmon to experiment with in our games on the handhelds in college; and I got really into Eviolite Type Null. I use it in normal games too but in hackmon I could give it setup and recovery moves to make it into a real powerful bulky sweeper. I was the only one with hacked pokemon though so I was not up against the terrors of the real hackmon threats.

Ehhhh, there's a suprising amount of stuff that can KO it if I remember correctly. People already plan for Wonder Guard Normal types, so something that instantly dies to hazards and status isn't as great as you would think
Shout outs to eisecue in gen 8 PH, since Ice Face is one of the few abilities that doesnt get negated by ngas, which means it can tank every OHKO move in the game. A
Also Cramorant with a pikachu on its mouth, who also has one of the few abilities not negated by Ngas, its immune to fissure, and it can force paralysis + 25% damage to everything with gulp missile. this niche in fact also got it banned from Balanced Hackmons!
I remember over a decade ago I was top of the Hackmons format in I think Gen 5.
My one and only crowning Pokemon achievement.
Swadloon also one very important quality: it's very cozy.
The competitive use for bug grass typing is parasect in Ubers with Dry Skin, I think starting in gen 3 but I mostly played gen 4 and 5.

Pure Hackmons is the format I use on Showdown to make the silliest things that would otherwise be impossible... like a team of bootleg legendary Pokemon like Magikarp with Origin Pulse and Primordial Sea.
I always just end up losing though... People are no fun and just use OP pokemon all the time.😔

I created two instances of the Gourgiest, removed all colour from one, then rotated it along multiple axes, until it created a somewhat realistic shadow effect.

Question, how would an Elektross with Wonder Guard and an Air Balloon item be? Gen 7 and before as the strategy sorta falls apart with Neutralizing Gas. Idk how Hackmon meta works, so that's why I'm asking

@@krayvalorant is my theory correct then? Elektross you can't hit. Wonder Guard, so you can only be hit by ground moves, then Air Balloon so you are in the air so ground moves can't hit you (Give or take moves like Gravity but who runs Gravity)
@@randomkid4783 those abilities i listed ignore the other pokemons abilities, so they would essentially bypass wonderguard and still hit you!
@@randomkid4783 As krayvalorant was saying, ability bypassing abilities are common, and in even in gen 7, there is a subset of moves that ignores abilities called moldy moves. Its overall very niche, and often outclassed by wonderguard cores.
@@blip_exists so you're saying that, while there are ways around it. It's still niche and the hypothesis (probably used somewhere) is theoretically really strong and an ALMOST impossible wall to get through.

0:27 every theoretical combination that is, PLUS eternamax eternatus, which is unobtainable without modifying the game (and at that point why not just give every mon 255 in every stat while you're at it...) and shouldn't be allowed in any of the hackmons tiers - they should be limited to what you can make by editing your save file, and that's what they claim, but save edits cannot get you Eternamax.
It can...kinda get you eternamax. I think it may be more that something like Pkhex doesn't support it, but there are ways to edit Pkhex to allow you get Eternamax (I believe the current method involves catching it from changing raid pokemon). I think its moreso decided by what you can obtain in game that can still battle agaisnt someone who does not have an edited game.
Tiny correction for players of newer generations: Sewaddle's line isn't available in the first route, it takes 2 gyms to get them (this doesn't change how funny it is to be that good)

Probably because shed tail wasn't out at the time.
Also, doubleshock wonderguard has the same issue as a lot of other such strategies, in that mold breaker can get around it.
double shock/burn up wonder guards arent very good because theyre vulnerable to neutralizing gas/mold breaker like other wonder guards, you would rather use a different wonder guard like audino whos more suited to take on neutralizing gas/mold breaker users
i love swadloon but if the only advantage it has is being funnier idk if that should really count it over leavanny
I think Swadloon has higher defenses with eviolite, but those higher defenses aren't super important? But it is something.

Curious, why run primordial sea over well-baked body?
Two reasons:
This was in geneations before that ability was introduced.
Also, Groudon often ran mold breaker, which would get past well-baked body, but not primordial sea.
I enjoy going on gen 6 pure hackmons and annoying people with my 3 shedninjas, 2 deoxys and a wobbuffet. The strat is not great but is fun to play.

Stuff like that can also happen with mono-fire types using Burn-Up. Its niche, but not fully unusuable? The issue is, its liable to being outsped, can be blocked by wonder guard, and can be sidestepped with moldbreaker. Most wonderguard cores can cover all type weaknesses anyways, so having doubleshock wonderguard is often redundant.

It sounds that way until your opponent sends out a mold breaker pokemon, or in later gens, a pokemon with a moldy move.

In Pure Hackmons it was kinda a sweeper?
However, in OU proper, even though electrode is fast and has a super high crit rate, it suffers from having one usable move, and has a lot of competition with Zapdos, with Zapdos being a great Pokemon. The main difference is, that Zapdos can switch into things, and can deal with Exeggutor, while Electrode reallly doesnt do much. At least thats what I presume with my pretty minimal gen 1 knowledge. Both also get absolutely walled by the Rocks.
Also, forgor bout this, but Jolteon exists. Jolteon is just a bit slower, but has much better stats overall, and hits harder, as well as not loosing out with the lower speed, as the only pokemon with the same/equal speed or aerodactyl and electrode, neither of which are common or can do much to Jolteon. Also, Jolteon has an actual movepool.
