/* ---- VIDEO INFORMATION ---- */
What’s poppin, Mortys? It’s me MT and welcome back to the Heavy Spoilers show! This is a breakdown of Episode 5 of Season 7 of Rick and Morty that featured the showdown between Ricks that we’ve all been waiting for…with a very unlikely one-eyed assist. Let’s break down this multiverse madness together, gang!
And the episode starts with a Morty covered in the ass juice of an unidentified alien... ass juice that is soon revealed to be the Catalyst for the origins of evil Morty... The last time we left evil Morty in the series was all the way back in Season 5 Episode 10’s Rickmurai Jack that ended with Evil Morty tearing a hole in the Central Finite Curve and free himself from a multiverse of arrogant ricks. But anyways after Rick yells at Morty for complaining about being forced inside of an alien anus for the millionth time, morty absolutely snaps and intentionally gets Rick drunk order to distract him while he went upstairs to make his new high-tech cybernetic eye patch... An hi-Tech eye patch with the capability to scan a person's brain waves and predict their next move... As we see evil Morty Do during his fight with Rick Prime towards the end of the episode. While Morty is sitting at his desk, you can see hilarious movie posters on his wall for a film called Satan's devil and another poster for a horror film called mollusk Maneater... With a picture of a man cowering in fear in front of a giant mollusk can be seen next to the tagline just try to run.

that was weak
Hey!
You misssed one thing. Two photo frame on desk. Evil morty do this s
You are late, Im used to these videos coming out without hours
"newspaper in a trash can"....?
You made me think back to the mortys mind blowers episode remember one of them broke I'm sure it said something like booger aids
Booger aides isn’t a random file name. In an earlier episode summer points out that ALL of Rick’s files are named booger aides because Rick doesn’t like “naming things”
i caught that too
Right, I just pointed that out in a separate comment. The episode you are referring to is season 3 episode 8, "Morty's Mind Blowers". Rick himself actually said that he "needs to start using real file names" after reading multiple of these "Booger Aids" labels from the memory vials he was injecting Morty with.
@@renx81 he says it on season 6 episode 1 too
ahhhhh! I remember that. oh summer what would we do without you
So doesn't that mean he could potentially have turned into rick prime but just chose not to?😮
The fact that they didn’t make fun of the audience for wanting something like this is what sold it for me. They play the emotional bits straight and don’t cut them short with a 4th wall break every time and it took me aback. Also that opening was incredible because it felt so samey that I literally thought “here we go again, this is the set up to like 4-5 other episodes” until morty puts on his eyepatch and I perked up so quickly. I haven’t had this subvert my expectations in so long it was nice
It's a breath of fresh air when they aren't complaining about it the whole time lol.
the absent of Meta jokes here sold the episode for me
Personally I prefer the random self contained episodes to the lore heavy ones
@@BigPurp9 which is totally fair! I think that’s what’s so great about this show is we can have both
@@VideosGalacticoseven in the episodes where they poke fun at the audience for wanting “classic R & M adventures” or mindless action-in those same episodes they give us it too. I think this shows that a little ribbing of the fan base is all in good fun, not out of disdain.
No need to be overly sensitive. Complaining about little bit of meta humor that pokes fun at the audience screams of reeeeee
That post credit scene where we sed uncle slo's wife almost going the same path as rick but then moving on really hit hard.
Possibly foreshadowing for Rick to have something flirty going on in the future ✌️😂
broooo no words
@@_TheViewer_Not at all moron. That’s already happened numerous times. Every relationship he has failed
She was lucky enough to find someone that had gone through something similar. Rick never had that luxury, so he just let his revenge consume him.
By the way, my favorite part about that sequence is the music - how at first it was exactly the same music we heard during the revelation of Rick's backstory in season 5 finale, but in the end the tone changed from very dark to something much lighter.
It literally made me cry. Like the whole episode was great but THAT!? Was beautiful.
I think the ending with Slow's widow is supposed to show us what Ricks life could have been like had he just stopped seeking revenge and learned to love again.
Or maybe it showed exactly what happened between Rick and Unity and if things keep parallel with Slow's Widow's life their love will fall apart as she forms a society with different versions of herself from different universes in order to draw out her husband's murderer?
She found someone who had lost their partner as well, which is how she was able to quit from the revenge path. Rick never had that opportunity, as far as we know anyway.
@@renx81 but he found so many FRIENDS. We know this. Slow Mobius for example. Hell, Birdperson. He could have been happy.
@@sadie9728 How exactly is that even remotely comparable? "Many friends" vs someone who's had the exact same tragic trauma as yours? I don't see how you could possibly draw that comparison. "Could have been happy" is never an argument for anything. "Coulda, shoulda, woulda" - just hypotheticals people cling to from an emotional basis of not having any true levels of empathy towards somebody's real trauma.
Or that because she's incapable of getting revenge, she doesn't bother. Rick's capability was in part the cause of his obsession.
Gotta be honest, when I started the episode I was like "lets see what kinda of goofy dump adventure they'll get themselves into this time" and when it ended I was like "wtf just happened, shit went insanely raw all the way" One of the greatest episodes of the series imo
I really enjoyed this episode it felt like a good conclusion to Rick prime and evil Morty’s stories
I don't think we're done seeing Evil Morty.
He still left with the plans of a weapon able to erase characters from all the timelines. I think Rick choosing to let him leave in favor of taking revenge will come bite him and his family in the butt later on.
Plus, I found it very ominous when Evil Morty said that taking revenge felt like that every time. As if he had seen it and done it all already, and nothing was taking him by surprise. Evil Morty probably has bigger things planned.
@@susiem.2068 I beg to differ. I feel with what Evil Morty's character has been revealed as, he would be an anti villain to our main duo. An overarching threat no doubt, but a reluctant ally. He did say, "you are different Rick" to C137. He got that mostly from that one scene in his first appearance when Evil Rick (Evil Morty) said, "You are crying over a Morty? Ricks don't cry over a Morty".
That is also why Evil Morty didn't kill Rick from all the chances he got so far. He could have easily killed Rick and Morty in Rickmurai Jack (episode 10 of Season 5) like he killed so many others. He just left them on their own, also knowing that this version of Rick will find a way out.
In short Evil Morty is certainly a nonchalant person, but unlike most other Ricks that he despises, he doesn't despise Rick C137 and hence wouldn't be a direct threat to him.
@@sarangadas4020he realizes that Rick is no threat to him since he never made a mistake (until now) and has already scanned Rick C137 brain. He chose not to kill Rick C137 since it would be no use to him and also it is the only Rick that truly cares for Morty
"You are a little different though Rick, maybe I can use that someday"
@@grey7513yes I wanna see them hangout again alr
I don't think Evil Morty wants to kill our Rick, I think he wants to force him to appreciate the happiness he doesn't know he had with his family. Our Rick is the only Rick that actually cares about Morty and his family even though he tries to hide it. So saving him and giving him what he wanted most was a way to help imo.
Smart
i think they killed off every Diane to prevent fans from saying why didn't rick go find another wife. and may I say i adored this episode. so interesting. so well done. Flawless gift to the fans.
fax, i think so too
i wish they bring her back, but when rick prime said when i build shit it actually works, was savage.
I don't get it if rick prime killed all Diane's why wouldn't all Rick's thirst for revenge against him?
Not all Ricks are smart enough to chase him down. And as you can see so many has tried that Prime Rick had to make an automatic message@@arnavkirti
@@arnavkirtibecause C-137 Rick might’ve been the only to actually meet bro before he killed his wife, based on the flashback from when they first met. plus him & rick prime were the only two to truly “invent” portal travel or smthn like that (rick prime says it in his death scene). but also maybe not all of them were able to find him or all didn’t meet him i’m assuming
*Some things you missed!*
2:19
He said "You know how we feel about pirates". It is a reference for season 3 episode 10, where it was revealed he is afraid of pirates.
4:38
The death of that monster is a reference for the laser room from the original Resident Evil movie.
8:53
That's a reference for season 6 episode 1 where Summer said to Rick "every file (of Rick) is Booger Aids", in which he responded with "I hate naming things".
4:33 Solar Opposites reference; getting eaten by Tyrannosaur when colonizing is a pretty common occurrence.
Absolutely loved this episode like they knew we wanted it and it brought a new dynamic to rick and morty so I'm glad "evil" morty is still around, so much fun and a lot to take in, that's what I love about classic rick and morty
Evil Morty is absolutely my favorite, he is the most richest Morty, while Rick is the most rickest rick
@@aliashfaque1746I think u meant rickest morty and mortyiest Rick
The Rick with the green vest, glasses, and buck teeth is actually a reference to Wallace from Wallace and Grommit! I can imagine his Morty is a hyper intelligent dog
I noticed that once I saw the episode
Thank you for this. I knew I recognised the attire but couldn’t place it… I’ve watched a bunch of these breakdowns hoping someone would say.
@@Yalditours yeah I’m surprised no one has said anything
The eyepatch being able to predict Rick Prime's attacks was a reference to the scene in MIB 3 when J dodged the hand daggers from Old Boris.
I just watched all 3 men in black movies this week and noticed the same thing 🤣🤣
It’s funny that in the reality free from Rick so many people invent portal travel so much that it turns into a graveyard 😂
Idk, I feel like they were just different versions of the same family. I do wonder if that universe is like that on its own or is it because there's no Rick to deal with all the Lovecraftian monsters?
thats why its safer to be confine to only ricks
@@originalcosmicgirl it wasn't just the family you see the whole universe evil morty flying around in filled with portals and aliens. One even hits his ships window.
Its all various non Rick beings discovering multiversal portal travel. I guess these are the unlucky ones.
@@MCPhatman I didn't see the other portals, but the monsters were the Cthulus I was talking about. Definitely going to watch it again.
The credits scene wasn’t about Rick prime somehow having a hand in creating happy lives. It was about the dichotomy between how Rick handled the loss vs Slomobius’ wife. Rick became obsessive and never stopped at any cost. Meanwhile Slomobius’ wife initially became obsessive, yet met someone along the way and realized that vengeance wouldn’t ever satisfy you. Only moving on and finding love again, and appreciating your life that you still have will. That’s what the scene was about. And it wouldn’t have had the slightest impact if it happened any point other than directly after we see Rick reach his end goal
We appreciate how well you've articulated your own insights. Keep working hard.
Easily the best episode. Couldn't asks for more.
By far I think this is one of the best written and executed Rick and Morty episodes. It puts into perspective why Rick has been such a douche towards people who like or love him and his drive for revenge against Rick Prime. I also thought it was a good twist to have Evil Morty be the one to actually kill Rick Prime. Also the irony that Evil Morty might actually be as smart, maybe smarter than Rick. Best part was the end. The victory is not played for high-5s and celebration but I felt hollow. I got a sense that Rick feels numb, because truly what happens now that the thing you wanted for so long is gone but nothing hasn't changed. It will be interesting to see the next episode. Can't wait.
*defeat rick prime. & i think how Evil Morty said rick might kill himself next could possibly be foreshadowing since he (Rick) seemed so empty after killing prime rick
The BoogerAIDS v2 isn’t just a random name, it’s a callback to a running joke that Rick hates to bother naming things so everything in his filing system is some version of BoogerAIDS. This is the third time they referenced it. The first mention was season 6 episode 1, just before Rick, Morty, and Jerry were sent back to their original universes.
Actually, it goes back all the way to season 3 episode 8, "Morty's Mind Blowers".
I loved this episode, one of my favorites. Also we LOVE MT!
Who the hell is MT
@@Clossemevil tmorty
This was a STELLAR episode. One of the best of the series. However I think this review deserved a longer run time than 10mins. Felt very express.
The booger aids is a reference to how in an earlier episode Rick asks summer to look for file “booger AIDS” and she says all his files are named booger aids.
I feel like an analysis of this episode should be 3 hours long
Definitely, ten minutes is way too short.
it’s so much to take in 😅
Just finished, actually an amazing breakdown, i love all the callbacks to earlier seasons, didnt even notice them before this
I really appreciate this episode because I don't think anyone really expected it.
Middle of the season, other episodes are one off-ers, but also kinda about his mental health, then bam.
Past few seasons fell off, but if this doesn't get people to come back and know they're serious about the series, after a couple meta-seasons about telling fans to shut the fuck up (which I still loved), idk what would. This was peak R&M
It seemed like in evil morty's universe, portal travel was discovered by many different people.
The Ricks created the Finite Curve where only they discovered how to travel between Universes.
When Evil Morty broke out, he was in the true Multiverse and.. if a Rick can do it so can alot of other people.
yea because the Finite Curve is just the universes where Rick is the smartest person in the universe. Outside that everything is wild. Similar principle of the Sacred Timeline in the MCU. Outside that is an infinite chaos that Loki now controls himself.
The point is that in the Central Finite Curve, Rick basically monopolized portal travel as the smartest man in the universe. Without him filling that role, that technology would be up for grabs for anybody.
This episode was crazy! Thanks for the breakdown MT!
You are late heavy spoilers
True I was waiting for it
Glad I wasn't the only one 😂
And
Probably because of the marvels and Loki
HEY, MT gets it perfect 😂
Been waiting for this, thanks mt!
thank you been waiting for this
Thank you for giving the details of the episode and references and not just recapping the whole entire episode beat for beat like some other CZcamsrs do
Damn, y'all forgot to mention the call back to Rick's fear of pirates
I just opened up CZcams looking for this video and then got the notification that it just uploaded. 😂
MT your videos for Heavy Spoilers should be called Heavy DEEP CUTS... You and (I assume your team) group seem to give dazzling deep cuts to previous episodes with great insight and detail. Everytime I watch your vids I see deeper connections for the shown. Well Done!!!!
Anyone else think Prime Rick could’ve pulled a 'Superior Spider-Man' play? After all, they didn’t show C137 killing him. They did use the lighting and shadows/bruises in that scene very masterfully to accentuate its grittiness, so I can’t think of any other reason why they would censor his death than if he isn’t really dead 🤷🏾♂️
Bro that would be such a twist lol
That would kinda suck, all of episode would be meaningless
Whats good about this episode it was unexpected to see this long "rivalry" be done in just episode 5 without any build up
Plus having evil morty winning against primer rick is good, rick couldnt defeat him yet inteligent morty could
I prefer if he's dead. This episode was a good ending.
There are plenty of reasons not to show somebody's death from storytelling perspective. It has nothing to do with "censoring" to begin with.
I was an 80's kid and Total Recall will always be my favorite Ahnold movie. When I saw Kuato Rick I about fell out of my chair. I havent laughed like that in a long time. Great breakdown of the episode!
Great episode, good to see evil Morty again
Rick is wondering why he even exists anymore. He's destroyed the council, avenged/saved bird person, and eliminated Rick prime. Maybe he'll finally take down that box of time travel stuff and go get his wife back.
If he goes back in time then rick prime will be alive
@@Frostyz-LF all he has to do is travel back to before Rick prime killed her and then bring her back to the future where Rick prime is dead
@@Malconeousintresting
Or go back and kill him before he even had the idea to become a hunter/killer
And everything would have not happend and he could enjoy time with his wife and relive everything in her timeline
Couple things. XXX is not a kind of beer rather XXX is a generic symbol for alcohol in cartoons. Ever seen Bugs Bunny?
Booger AIDS is what Rick calls all files because naming things is hard. This is mentioned in the Season six premiere when everyone is getting back to their home dimension and Rick tells Summer to find the file on his computer.
What a Hell of an Episode !!! Loved it ! 😍
I was saying back then at Season 6 ending that I’m speculating on a showdown between Rick & Morty vs Prime-Rick & Evil Morty,
Doh the team up between R&M and Evil Morty was cool af 👌🥳
Still thinking there’s some Decoy of P-Rick and Evil Morty will switch sides, he liked when Morty mentioned that Prime-Rick killed all those Beths.😅
and a showdown between the two teams would be AWESOME !
Lil Extra: yo Rick, dat wuz brutal 😳
Evil morty deleted his back ups then stile gis plans then let Rick kill him
Killed dianes not beths
@@williamdaviddiazcuchimaque7511 right 😂
What's doh
@@dejorareason2823 Though, but shorter, slanged
There's more to unpack, probably the best episode so far this season.
6:36 took the words out of my mouth, absolutely savage😅
it all just happened so fast, i didn't expect they didn't drag this 2 or 3 more episodes in
How can you forget that “boogers aids” is a reference to Mortys mind blowers
Love the Rick and Morty breakdowns
Evil Morty doesn't seem all that evil. He seems like he just wants to be left alone. He actually helped Rick and did not really want to physical harm Rick. He most definitely smarter than Rick and he is wiser, and more mature than Rick too.
I think Diane being "removed" through all infinity is a Paradox because Beth still exist in some worlds which also means Diane was only "erased" from the moment of Erasure and not the full data of existence. This idea means that Rick has to figure out the paradox of bringing back all the erased wives he and all the Rickfinity lost. Everything almost feels like needed to be led by this because if he can obsessed on finding a way to kill Rick Prime then he has to find a way to fix this. He seem to carry guilt though... that what he had become might not be what his wife will want when he gets her back. All of this is but a theory but I love it either way... whatever happens.
Diane was exterminated by the Omega Device, Beth was not and was already conceived well before the accident.
The timing isn't the same I think, ricks Diane died quicker rest were killed after beth was born. You have to remember this his own beth (whose planet was turned into zombies Morty's original planet) was alive. So my guess is that prime Rick used his own machine after beth was born to kill all Diane
@@aliashfaque1746or it just works in the same way that Slomobius was killed, after he met his wife & had kids, but just meaning that regardless of what happens Diane just won’t survive to the point of the show we’re at.
Was so happy to hear MT la voice back at it again!
Gotta be honest, when I started the episode I was like "lets see what kinda of goofy dump adventure they'll get themselves into this time" and when it ended I was like "wtf just happened, shit went insanel yraw all the way" One of the greatest episodes of the series imo
I literally just finished the episode just to see you guys post this 10 minutes ago😂😂
THANK YOUUUU MUCH LOVE
Genuinely loved evil morty's flashback catch up from a different view
Rick's don't like naming files. literally everything is named Booger Aids. This is really apparent when Rick resets the portal travel and asks Summer to follow a protocol Booger Aids and she screams back at him that literally all the files are Booger aids hahaha
Almost all of mortys mindblowers have some variation of the name boogeraids aids booger
the song at the end '"looking down from the bridage" is the same as when morty realize the emptiness in his. when he know everything is infinite but nothing satifice him.
The Booger Aids V2 thing is a reoccuring joke on how Rick always names his files "booger aids" or some variant of it. It's happened twice prior in the show and once in the comics.
It's not random at all.
8:52 "Random-ass name", sure, but the term "Booger Aids" was first referenced in season 3 episode 8, "Morty's Mind Blowers", in which Rick even said that he needs to start using "real file names". I think you missed that reference in this analysis.
So it's not that Rick Prime is "a random ass guy", but actually this is meant to say something about all Ricks. Perhaps just that they are lazy? In any case, not actually exactly random.
Can't believe nothing's wrong with Evil Morty's eye 😮😮
I loved this episode, the moment i saw him give rick beers n went upstairs ik it was evil morty
Best. Episode. Ever.
I would totally watch this as a movie and i wish it would be a bit more longer
1:43 I just wanted to point out that on the desk there's the helmet for transferring IQ, which is probably why this Morty is so smart.
I didnt even think about Evil Morty's Rick being a hacked cybernetic rick rather than a rick android. I feel like maybe Rick's cybernetics werent as obvious back then and thus can only be reasoned via hindsight. Brilliant.
They literally say in the episodes ending that he was being remotely controlled.
@sanidhyadevgupta6452 well yeah. Arguably that makes more sense as a robot than as a cyborg Rick, though both make enough sense.
The only question I have is if all Ricks have backup clones that they get rerouted when they die wouldn't that mean Rick Prime just got rerouted?
Evil morty killed the backups while downloading the schematics to the omega device\
@@bosunadepoju1656 Exactly. Rick Prime even made a comment about how Evil Morty "fried" his backups.
Amazing how they remembered that.
He’s hard to kill, but not impossible
This was straight up the best episode, soo fulll and good
MT always gets extra likes, so glad you hired ol boy 😊
I have a hypothesis about what Rick could do in the future episodes or even next sessions, since prime Rick is dead dead, maybe Rick will try and get his wife again to the dimension he is right now, idk I thought about it and it would be very interesting to see if now he can try and reverse now having Diane in his life and also both Beths :ooo
They really leaned into the psychedelic animation on this episode.
Took you long enough, kinda glad tho I just watched it lol and then see this
Rick primes base was also a reference to Halo and mass effect. The main room is basically the silent cartographer complete with sentinel guardians and the huge robotic wives are reference to the final fight in mass effect 2 where you fight a giant robotic skelleton
man I loved it when Rick & Prime were fighting each other. First one cuts off the other's leg and hits the other with it, then the other cuts off an arm. then they put an arm instead of a leg etc. Just brilliant
You've got the best breakdown... all others have adhd
That one way to end the canon issue debate.
Slow’a widow is eating at the same noodle bar that Rick was in his rage montage
The Rick is afraid of pirates was a funny callback
Best quote for me "[I wouldn't use it] because using a weapon like this doesn’t get you left alone, Morty" - Evil Morty.
Long time listener, first time caller (lie). I started watching For All Mankind a couple years ago and it’s a great show. Season 4 just started and so few people are doing reviews. It would be nice to see someone i trust doing a review of that show.
9:26, If anything, Evil Morty would likely prefer Rick to die sooner or to just be too distracted by the feeling of purposelessness that he wouldn’t be focused on him (he also chose to help Rick when he could have simply walked away, though he also could have predicted that Rick would suffer an existential crisis if Rick Prime died and wanted to use that to hurt Rick). While he may take some pleasure in Rick inadvertently prolonging his own suffering by being unable to process his grief (a likely fitting punishment for someone as arrogant as Rick in Evil Morty’s view), he seems too fed up with Rick to even bother with that, as he only has a deterrent against Rick just in case Rick decides to target him next.
imagine if Rick gets so far down the hole that he ends up seeking out evil morty just to push him into using the device & killing all the ricks (including himself ofc) just to end the cycle
@@YRTTSSFS I can certainly see that possibility, though it seems the direction the writers are going with is Rick’s interactions with his family being what convinces him to properly cope with Rick Prime no longer being there to hunt.
The Rickbots even have their hairstyle.😂😂😂😂😂
You missed the picture of the morty with a green vest who seems to be his campaign advisor 😂
The booger-aids is a callback to mortys mind blowers, it's how Rick labels most things
Ngl Was Pissed When I Saw Video On 10 Min Long. The Streets Been Waiting On This One Lol
It's not a random name, it's a call back... the pirates was a great callback too
How oh how do you get those clips
2:27 The Rick at the front desk says, “Morty with an eye patch, you know how we feel about Pirates” referencing Rick’s fear of Pirates in the episode when he fights the president
I think Rick will bring Rick Prime back with like a clone or something and then like we will get to know why Rick Prime killed Diane and what he telling about if he didn't killed Diane then our Rick would
Booger aids was also the backup file or something in another episode that Summer had to use when they got taken back to their original universes
A bunch Mortys mindblowers have some variation of that name
@@DavidHinkin yeah that’s the one I was thinking
He said assist, evil Morty did everything.😂
When they portal into the dining room of the family formerly known as the Smiths, there is a picture of a little red corvette on the wall. Nice nod to the Prince tune.
Hunger games/squid games? Nah it was clearly a reference to Saw/Escape Room...
Everyone praised the spaghetti episode, but this one right here was the real sh*t for me.
Bon visionage 😁
Idk if I buy Rick prime is dead for good. That guy is slick
Hell yeah evil morty is my fave character now
whats the song in the end
I have to say, Evil morty is my fav character in the show. I love his quick insults to Rick
Where can I stream season 7 episodes?
I like to think it was a parallel for Rick, that if he moved on rather than be consumed by revenge he would’ve moved on and had a happy life.
Re: Where this could be going
I had a theory pop into my head. So: (1) Evil Morty threatened - don't make him improve upon the Omega Device. Just leave him alone. And (2) Evil Morty also said this is the sort of thing that doesn't get you left alone - he doesn't need an army of vengeful Summers. My idea? What if Evil Morty plans on upgrading the Omega Device - to not just wipe out every version a person from the multiverse, but to wipe out every universe with that person? Upgrade the Omega Device into something that can obliterate the entire Central Finite Curve.
