@@sexistspaghettios Sure, right. They went into an agreement w/ a company that almost guaranteed their game would get made and that people would at least _see_ it. A large, and powerful company BTW. Then, when Sony changed the deal and leaned on them they were supposed to just break that deal and not publish. You didn't think this through. Did you?
The fact that people fell for this in the first place and would even need a refund is why gamers keep losing. The moment it became a Sony exclusive, it should have been obvious from a mile away that this would happen.
This is why I blame gamers most, while Vee and others trying so hard to blame anyone else and even go out of their way to try shift blame away from Shift-up as well. Shift-Up chose to work with Sony and they ones who made the censorship not Sony. Sony may told them to do it but at end of the day they said yes ma'am and did it.
The marketing was well done here. We were gaslighted by the developers. The demo was excellent and had everything gamers wanted. The devs had some skirmishes with IGN and it looked like the devs were standing their ground. The devs also claimed the game would be uncensored worldwide. And then they dropped the Day 1 Patch. Bait & Switch.
Sign the #FreeStellarBlade petition and cancel your Sony PSN subscription. We need to play CHESS, not checkers. The problem with people saying they're boycotting Stellar Blade, is that they will then go buy and play games that follow the cultural guidelines approved by the establishment. Developers are watching this Stellar Blade drama play out (backlash from both sides) and they're seeing zero incentive to make a game like SB, only to get smeared by the media apparatus, censored by the machine, and ultimately boycotted by the players. And so developers are going to make sure they instead make games that will get praised by the media like Hades and Baldurs Gate, or innocuous games like Candy Crush that play it safe and don't trigger western sensibilities. At the end of the day, even with the forced censorship, SB is still the most counter culture game today, and journalists want it to fail- no, they NEED it to fail to serve as validation for their credentials. They will then lord it over the gaming community and use it as a cautionary tale that this is what happens when you go against their recommendations
this is why i don't buy modern games. Stellar Blade was a very nice idea, in theory. but until i see the real thing, released and 100%, and 100% sure that they wont patch it at anytime, i wont spend a cent.
All games are modern. Modernity started at the end of world war 1. Stop using a term when you don't know what it means. Post modernity was shoehorned into existence in the 60s and 70s. Technically all games are "post-modern".

A refund from Sony is a process designed for you to not even try. More than a week ago I bought a dlc for Snow Runner. It doesn't download, and there is no manual option or button to do it. It just appears as "purchased". I've talked to 4 people, all of them end up saying me that they'll send me an email with steps to follow. Those steps are just a list of checks like internet connection and all that. 4 fkg times, even though I told them, please, no more emails, I just want a solution or a refund. The last one, again, told me he was sending me an email and the guy left the chat. In the email, the ask me for video proof, that I have to make a video, upload it to youtube in private, and answer that email with the link to the video. The email doesn't allow answers. I log in again, wait again, explain the problem for the 5th time after chatting with a useless bot. The guy, again, sends me another email for me to be able to respond with said link. I did. This was a week ago. I'm still waiting. The thing is, if it hasn't even been downloaded, they don't need an explanation. Just give the money back. Wtf is all that interrogation?? I changed my mind and that's all the reasons you need, fkg period. I am pretty sure that I won't see that money again, and the worst part, I cannot play the DLC because it's purchased but it doesn't download, which is actually what the fk I want.
As much as I respect people who criticize us for being upset about the censorship and to just "play the game (coomer)", I ask that they respect us for getting mad at censorship when it was promised uncensored! These people don't want to fight for what's right and just accept getting steam rolled.
It is hard to say whether it was the costumes or the blood since they also blatently censored with the hard R fiasco. They really have no legal defense to say they fulfilled their pledge not to censor after that so it likely is just cheaper to pay refunds. That said, I have no idea how legit these refund images are, nor does it look like it is significant enough to affect sales. Either way, if Shift Up won't to give back the v1.000 outfits then we would know for sure that they would rather censor than to give players what they want.
They'll probably refund, and then write a story about how the game is so bad that ppl wanted refunds. And then get completely blown out of the water, when the game releases for PC.
@@Reiman33People like you keep bringing up BloodBorne, that's literally the only example you people bring up. What about the other PS exclusives that DID come out on PC.

It's like Sony wanted this game to fail in the first place which makes no sense since they funded it in the first place. Unless they were just willing to put that much money into the game to ensure it didnt hit other platforms just to sabotage it, I wouldnt put it past them to be honest.
I myself tried contacting sony for a refund (just for testing) and my request was denied. Sony's refund policy is too strict to allow refunds over this. That was probably a rumor spread in bad faith. Now imagine absolutely Uno Reversing yourself and pissing all that away by caving to those same crybully haters that were never going to buy your product anyway. Is sony the Japanese word for loser? Really starting to seem that way.
It's incredible, really. Sony's ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory is shocking. All Sony had to do was nothing, and they couldn't manage it. Well done Sony you played yourselves. Losers 😂
that is not happening no matter how hard sony tries, shift up has a cash cow mobile game call nikke. just look up its sales figure, it is up there among the mobile game titans. its company valuation has also spiked dramatically in the last 2 years, also tencent has about 20% stake in the company. if sony really plan to acquire the studio, they better bring the dough, they are gonna need a lot of it.
As per the laws in Australia, Sony MUST WITHOUT ISSUE, refund all FALSE ADVERTISEMENT claims as we are protected by our customer consumer rights and companies can suffer IMMENSE fines for refusal to refund such cases.
There was one tweet made by the Stellar Blade team about a month ago stating as fact that the game would be released uncensored worldwide. That 100% makes it false advertisement.
False advertising is real othing. Member when Sony had to do serious damage control when they removed other OS option from ps3 due to piracy problems, but they used it in ps3 advertising
I'm pretty sure the Twitter posts can be considered advertising. So, the dev stating it would be released uncensored would be false advertising, which can be punished legally in the USA.
I'd still buy it even censored, with the hopes of mods solving it. I mean, I'm already giving shiftup cash for Nikke, not like not buying Stellar Blade would stop them from getting my money.
good thing that I didn't buy a GayStation for this game. This is a huge indication of what type of game sony will produce in the future. and the devs went from "We only value entertainment" to "This was always meant for gays" on lie-ghtning speed! like wtf?!
I got mine refunded 7 days after release. (Edit: 7 days after I placed the pre-order. I believe 4 days after release) I had not played it yet. Despite the terms saying that you can't get a refund if the game has been downloaded, I did. I had pre-ordered it in the game head Auto downloaded. In the bot form you fill out before you talk to the actual person, I just filled out that it had not been downloaded. I had no problems at all.
What I'm really surprised was not Sony censoring using mandatory day-1 patches as this one should already obvious given Sony previous antics and attitudes, but they allow the SB Disc to be manufactured without censor patch baked in. In comparison the Digital only already have censor patch pre-applied before gamers download the game.
Okay, 2 reasons why I think this is FAKE: 1. Despite Sony’s ridiculous decision to censor the game, they WANT THIS GAME TO BE SUCCESSFUL! This clearly goes against that. 2. If they send this out, it’s basically admitting they did FALSE ADVERTISING, and it’s a lawsuit just waiting to happen.
Unless you're factoring stellar blade director's statement, i think sony already shifted all the blame to shift up and act as if they have nothing to do with it (even if they did)

The release version is always the version shipped on disc. Anything after the data is imprinted on a disc is considered an update/patch. The outfits were changed with a day one patch which is censorship. The Shift Up developers stated that there wouldn't be any censorship in the game and Sony forced them to censor the game. Sony also stated that they wouldn't force updates on games that they have on their platform. Both of these are cases of false advertisement but the blame should be mostly towards Sony.
Another reason to never pre order a high profile game. It is one thing to pre order or pledge on niche indie games like the one Vee is making to help them in their development and another to give your money in advance to a game where a major publisher is involved.

Sony's official refund policy is not have downloaded the game yet and to request it within 2 weeks of the purchase(not sure how this applies to pre-orders). If Sony refuses to give you a refund you can go to your bank and have them cancel the transaction. If they issue you a refund there is also the added bonus of the bank charging Sony a fee for having to do this.
If it came down to false advertising, then Palworld would be in big trouble because there's a handful of Pals that were left on the cutting room floor from their trailer. Same thing with Cyberpunk as there's a whole video essay of content that was cut from their trailers. It's normal to see cut content in game trailers. If you need a reason to refund this game, it's that you prefer to not give the money to Sony.
I'm waiting for the PC release (mostly cuz I don't have a PS5) but if the uncensored costume becomes a "PC exclusive" because of Sony's dumb policies that's a funny W for Steam. 😹
This is so weird, they never allow refunds. I'd cancel my PS+ if I still had it. I'll gladly buy a 3rd copy when they launch it on steam and we can fix their BS
i remember sony shutting down their japan studio and merge the remaining to another team some years back. maybe that's the sign saying they hate their own country.
It's not that the people who 'didn't like' Stellar Blade before the release actually didn't like the game, they hate the people who love fan service. Now that the fan service is removed, and the people who wanted fan service are disappointed, they love the game- precisely because the fan service fans are disappointed. No principles and they're just as guilty as Sony.
Only way to win.this war is to show them the consequences of bending the knee
This is why I blame gamers most, while Vee and others trying so hard to blame anyone else and even go out of their way to try shift blame away from Shift-up as well. Shift-Up chose to work with Sony and they ones who made the censorship not Sony. Sony may told them to do it but at end of the day they said yes ma'am and did it.
@@aj.j5833 Indeed. They should have refused.

The only game I've seen Sony refund was Cyberpunk. So i'm skeptical here.
They will then lord it over the gaming community and use it as a cautionary tale that this is what happens when you go against their recommendations
nailed it
this is why i don't buy modern games. Stellar Blade was a very nice idea, in theory. but until i see the real thing, released and 100%, and 100% sure that they wont patch it at anytime, i wont spend a cent.
Better to fear like being jumpscared. It saves your heart and makes you more prepared for the danger.

No matter how much time passes, people still fall for the pre-order switcheroo.
Vee, they're upset about nonconformity. In their eyes, if you're pro something, your loyalty must be absolute.

I myself tried contacting sony for a refund (just for testing) and my request was denied. Sony's refund policy is too strict to allow refunds over this. That was probably a rumor spread in bad faith.

Should’ve have said it was going to be uncensored in the first place
What I'm really surprised was not Sony censoring using mandatory day-1 patches as this one should already obvious given Sony previous antics and attitudes, but they allow the SB Disc to be manufactured without censor patch baked in.
In comparison the Digital only already have censor patch pre-applied before gamers download the game.
"A very bizarre way of thinking"
Ah, but you see, NPC is not of the thinkings
Okay, 2 reasons why I think this is FAKE:
Unless you're factoring stellar blade director's statement, i think sony already shifted all the blame to shift up and act as if they have nothing to do with it (even if they did)
1. No, they don't. They are wokies.

It is one thing to pre order or pledge on niche indie games like the one Vee is making to help them in their development and another to give your money in advance to a game where a major publisher is involved.
