I got news for you: The Three Stooges did in a way die off. They're not as multigenerational as they once were.
A few years ago, I brought them up in a FB Group only to learn I was the only one in said group who knew about them. They've begun their journey into being forgotten sadly. Only a matter of time before they're about as well remembered as say, Theda Bara (You may be asking yourself "Who?" and I would reply with "Exactly! Nobody (at least nowadays) knows who Theda Bara was much like how nobody nowadays knows who The Three Stooges were")

I think it was in 1961 when I was 7 or 8 years old I was lucky enough to see the Three Stooges at a live performance at a New York theme park called Freedom Land. The orchestra provided the sound effects with an amplified bass drum making a loud "boom" when Moe hit Curly-Joe in the stomach and hitting a block of wood when Moe hit Larry on the head. My mother became a fan that day when the Stooges told us not to hit our friends or brothers and sisters like they do. Moe said (paraphrasing as best as I can remember) "We know how to do it without hurting each other. We really like each other and do it just to be funny."

Curly's grave is directly behind his parents graves. Their headstones are written all in Hebrew or Yiddish so you would not have known who they were.
There is one more Howard brother buried in the same cemetary. Jack Howard was Moe's older brother and he outlived Moe by a year or so. He died in 1976 aged 84.
The oldest Howard brother was named Irving. He died in 1939 aged 48. He is buried in a cemetery in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was the only brother who kept his surname of Horowitz.

Although the color ‘tones’ look much different than modern color on television these days.
