  • We are proud to introduce the new standard in spinning reels- the all new Tatula MQ. Our MQ design was engineered for our high end models such as Exist and Certate, but is now available in the Tatula family. The Monocoque (MQ) frame design allows us to fit a larger gear inside of the reel, adding torque, power and longevity to your gear set in the same size reel. A 360 degree screw-in sideplate removes to need for traditional sideplate screws, for a more compact and more weather resistant housing.
    TATULA MQ LT Features:
    • One-piece MONOCOQUE ZAION V body
    • AIRDRIVE ROTOR
    • SOLID AIRDRIVE BAIL
    • TOUGH DIGIGEAR®
    • Ball Bearing-Supported Advanced Tournament Drag (ATD™)
    • Machined aluminum screw-in handle
    • 8BB + 1
    • Gear ratios between 5.8:1 and 6.2:1 for effectively playing fish
    • Line-Per-Turn: 28.8-inches (1000 size) to 39.1-inches (4000 size)

    The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel czcams.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.

    I gotta say: Daiwa sure knows how to put together a great video! I don't need a reel at the moment but after seeing this, I'm making an excuse to buy one. I've been supremely happy with all my Daiwa reels both for hard water & open water fishing and now I've gotta get this one....just because 🙂

    It’s nice and looks great with the silver accents, but I don’t think it’s worth swapping your original LTs out for the MQ LT.

    Update
    I've always been a Shimano go to for years, and always will be, but was looking for a 2000 light reel for jigging and Shimano just does not have it in this price range with a larger high gear for more torque. I was using a 2500 Ultegra but it's just too heavy for long days of jigging. Tried to use a Stradic 1000 and it works but feels underpowered and with 6lb it's not ideal.
    Been using the Tatula 2000 model for inshore jigging with 6lb line and I can't fault it jigging for 5-6 hours non stop being so light. The only gripe is the handle has a tiny bit of play but nothing a shim can't resolve. I changed the handle to a black Titanium Gomexus with ceramic bearings and now it's perfect. I am critical of my reels and I have many including the 22 Stradic and Stella as well as other lower model Diawa's.
    This is an extraordinary reel in how it feels. The shaft feels that it's spinning on air when turning the handle, something my other reels don't feel like. It's really an amazing feeling. The reel never has failed once in operation and is very light. Line management is excellent but need to add a washer to get the line lay to not taper on the top from how it came originally.

      @@alexstacks Everywhere you feel there is play. I usually find the bail needs to be shimmed a tad to be tight and perfect. Many won't care or notice or it depends on their copy.

      @@joestrummer9507 I don't mind the thinner profile if the material it's made out of is stiffer, but I guess we'll have to find out about that. Looking at the Weight, Features, and Price, it looks like they're about to hit a Grand Slam in the sales department though.

    • @pens87668
      @pens87668 Před rokem +1

      It doesn’t cut weight. I checked out a 2500 version on Friday before buying another original Tatula LT, and it’s a little bit heavier. The 2500 was 6.7 oz. To me it’s not worth the extra $30-$40. If it were under the 6.2 and 6.3 oz of the current variations I’d consider buying it. I rather get a few more of the LTs with them going on clearance now.

    • @TTangOutdoors
      @TTangOutdoors Před rokem

      @@pens87668 When the Procyon MQ came out last year, the Procyon LT went on sale for a large margin, I believe there's still some on big sale somewhere. The Tatula LT is such a great reel, light weight and better body material Zaion rather than Zaion V on the MQ model. I'm curious to how much better does the MQ bigger gear feel..... just ordered a BG MQ 3000 for $150, we'll see if MQ is worth it. And the new Tatula MQ does have the air drive rotor, supposedly lower inertia on rotation? The JDM model does have the one piece bail and usually cheaper than USDM models.
