The Tatula LT is definitely not sealed. It's not made for saltwater. (No Magseal, no rubber gasket on rotor or handle base)The cheaper Fuego LT has better physical and chemical sealing than the Tatula. The fact that it's under 6oz already gave the OK for most ultralight applications. In fact, the 2023 Tatula MQ is not lighter than the LT, making the Tatula LT still valuable for a lot of us. So really no need for 500 size (Daiwa doesn't make 500 size at all). But I can see some people wanting a 6000 size which the Ballistic LT has. Basically a bass reel.

I own both. Diawa makes the better reel in my opinion. It's true for equivalent model baitcasters too. The Diawa's are better balanced and smoother after extended use, with better feel and rigidity. I'm referring to freshwater equipment. Shimano shines when it comes to their saltwater line.

That tatula lt is a beast if it had a lower gear ratio/ inches per turn would be even better.the daiwa backbay is a beast also.

Hey your videos are very informative and I was planning to get an Okuma Celilo UL 7'6 with a Pflueger President 25 from your Ultimate trout fishing guide. I was wondering if the President is still a good combo with the Celilo or would you recommend a different reel? I love your reviews!

Should check out the newer variation the Tatula LT MQ.
    I have the 2500D-XH.
Fantastic reel. It has 2 more bearing in it than the BG MQ.
    BG MQ 6+1
    Tatula MQ 8+1.
I had the Vanford in my hand and left with the Daiwa.

I have the new Tatula elite spinning reel. It is not smooth at all after 100 plus fish on it. Geary and loud gear mesh. Can feel it in the handle too.

  • @Naxatthedoor
    @Naxatthedoor Před 10 měsíci

Recently they released the new Tatula MQ, that one I believe has some amount of sealing due to the MQ body design. It has a single piece main gear which limits the possibility of water entering however I’d still say it’s a freshwater only reel, Daiwa is a weird company when it comes to designing reels at different price points, the Daiwa fuego is about 100$+ cheaper than the tatula but it’s better fitted for saltwater

Vanford casts just a little better do to how shimano lays the line on the spool….not a lot but the Shimano Vanford does cast farther

I bought the Tatula Lt a couple months ago and took it back to Bass Pro. Out of the box it wasn't very smooth at all. I've have reels half the price that were much smoother. Maybe i just got a bad one.

Vanford/Stradic is junk after one year.
    1. Plastic gear- smoothness is gone even after cleaning.
    2. Line roller goes bad.
Tatula- Aluminum main gear and it a lot smoother than brand new after serviced. Over 1000s panfish. It’s still going strong.
Don’t buy anyShimano reel with plastic gears. Junk!

@@timleng4404 The curado 150 mgl is perhaps the best baitcasting reel ever created in the $200 price point. Great casting distance with a light body. Also the new daiwa's spinning reels have gone a step forward and a couple steps backwards with the new mq designs. They have eliminated the anti-reverse which is a plus but they decided to go heavier which was a mistake. The vanford is the best mid price reel because of its lightness, sensitivity, and quick response.
