OK, it's time to be honest with myself. I'm 63 years old, and I am finally willing to admit to myself that this is one of my all-time favorite songs. Such timeless and haunting lyrics and melody. So many different artists have done this song in so many different ways, and they're ALL great, with this one being ne exception! Not many songs are like that. First time ever hearing this band, and I am impressed...now I'm gonna watch some more!
?
Yes it is good. So pick up an instrument and play along!
@@texhaines9957 I do. This was one of the first songs I learned to play on banjo. Have played it on harmonica even longer!
I totally agree with you and I I'm about to turn 71 one of my favorite songs always but I love love this arrangement
@@osakarose5612 oh my gosh I can't believe that you remember Red Foley I've never even heard of another person knowing him except our personal family we lived in Indiana till I was 13 moved to Ohio till I was 16 and moved that summer to Texas so that my dad could go to Bible College seminary... So when I lived in Connorsville, IN, I used to watch Red Foley... thank YOU for reminding me of sweet memories of long ago....
God bless you ✝️🛐😇💜
No matter what genre of music you follow, you just can’t help but love this song! Timeless classic!
I am 70.I used to sing and play this song since my 12.I loved country music .❤👍🇹🇳
At 84 I still love this song. This group is as good as any of them. The time really loved this song was on a night when a storm was on the way. The perfect background. I lived on the prairies in Canada. ❤❤❤❤
My Mom is 96. She also grew up on the prairie, in Vauxhall, Alberta. It's good to hear of another "Prairie Chick" who enjoys the music of Southern Raised.
It is amazing how a song written in the late 1940's has been covered by many generations of artists! This is a great version by these young musicians!!
Yes. You can't mess with a good song.
Relative to the song, I am young. Relative to me these musicians are young. I love the fact that the younger generation can appreciate older music.
Well said
Wait until you hear “In the Pines/Where did you Sleep” by Nirvana.
I'm 73 yrs young today in rural New Zealand. Have my son, grand daughters, and my two beautiful great grand daughters with me for dinner. With you guys singing one of my favourite songs of all time, who could wish for more
Hey a fellow Kiwi 🥝
New ¸Zealand, These guys are awesome
I was doing my job one day and I heard music playing and someone singing. As I got closer to where the sound was coming from, I saw them recording this music video. When they took a break , I went down and talked to them. They were very nice people.
Banjo is perfect, bass player is flawless, violinist superb, and deep voice vocal is on point. Put it all together and this is pure audio ecstasy. You never fail to amaze with your renditions of popular music, problem is you do it better than the originals or any other rendition. Well done.
Indeed, this baritone voice is fantastic!!!
@@IvanaBjelac Baritone? No, he's a Bass.
WHEN I WAS IN VIETNAM 68 70.....THIS SONG WAS OUR BATTLE SONG...IT HAS STUCK WITH US ALL THESE YEARS AND IS OUR FAVOURITE SONG, IN REMEMBRANCE TO THE WAR WE FOUGHT IN..

De tout coeur avec vous coucou de France
All these songs, I heard on the radio. Now I can see their faces. My Dad was a Country Western singer. He played all instruments, without reading a note! I grew up on this music 🎶and I love to dance 💃💃🤠!!
Thank you for your service soldier
I'm 65 and I remember listening to this on the radio, it would send chills thru me ... also Big bad John ! so timeless, thankyou
When my father was growing up in the Soviet Union, he would risk being arrested for buying illegal bone tracks. You could only play them a few times and then they wore out. You never knew if you would get Elvis, Johnny Cash, The Beach Boys, The Beatles etc. He once got this song by Johnny Cash (he thinks). He said the lyrics swept him away. He is now a nuclear and quantum physicist but even though he was almost an adult, he just wanted to be an American cowboy (instead of a Siberian scientist). He heard this playing and recalled closing his eyes to visualize the lyrics being played in his mind and said “whoever is singing that is amazing”. Now that he can buy whatever music he wants and the musician is noted, he said “I would buy this”. I will search iTunes for him.
He’s older than my mom by a little over 20 years (he’s 70) and yet I could tell this song transported him.
There was no music this good when he was younger. He risked a lot to buy music he could only play once or twice (four times but it would skip) but loss of job, freedom, blacklisting he said it was worth it. He loved music that sent chills down his spine. He did say he didn’t understand Harper Valley PTA at the time. He said his English language skills were not that great and he had no idea what a PTA was.
Odd, your comment reminded me that music really does transcend time and place.
I love watching the younger generation taking what was a personal favourite of mine & giving me music that I can love as much as the old. Great job.
An all-time Classic with a skilled , polished delivery. The things of live that we cannot take beyond.
I am 77 a working musician.I have been playing and singing this same arrangement for at least 5o years . You guys are terrific. I'm working solo these days raising money for kids cancer research. Keep picking!!!
if i ever make it to 77, my time wont be spent as well. glad others arent spending their time like mine and are helping others, good luck with your research!
Awesome 👌 keep that kind of music alive. Forever sounds great 👍 God bless u all

Simply OUTSTANDING! What a great interpretation of this classic western song. Seventy-three years old and better than ever.
Viva cialis yippy ahhh.
Only 73-years old, well, it is younger than I am. I can still enjoy it, played with gusto and making is come alive in a newly refreshed way
I'm 70 and have love gospel, country and bluegrass music all my life and I love what this young band is doing. They being all three together great.
Saw the Sons of the Pioneers sing this 30 years ago. Nice to hear the younger generation pick up such a classic western sound.
America. Endless expanse. Unconditional freedom. The beauty of nature. Honesty of the people.
I think of all this - German, 71 years old, never visited America - when I hear this song.
Dear friends, I am sending you
Love and respect for the wonderful soulfull music that you have gifted us with. Belgrade, Serbia
Hello, thank you so much!!!
Johnny Cash, The Outlaws, even Glen Campbell, but this acoustic version is simply one of the best. Thank you Ladies and gents. Classical American woodwind music
Vaughn Monroe probably did the best vocal but this is the best!
Одна из моих любимых мелодий !!!

The man in Black would be very PROUD!!! YEAH HAW!

Im 144 and this song has kept me this side of the dirt longer than Id prefer to count. It kept me and the boys going through the Boer war.
You’re a young en …. You will see it and live it one day. Keep on trucking and keep the rubber side down.
One of the most awesome songs ever written!! Bravo!!
It has been over 300 years since i had my posse riding in the sky. It is amazing how people still sing about us. A great song and an awesome cover. I feel like my time riding in the sky with my posse of undead cowboys was not in vain, some people still remember us. Nice.
Love the older songs. They bring back such vivid memories from my younger days in Nam.
Thank you!!
Or on the Angolan border...in 1987....fucking up the communists.

You´re so right!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Great rendition of a classic song. First heard Berl Ives sing this and then Johnny Cash. This is right up there with theirs.
Roy Clark has a great version too.
Great to hear that songs from past are coming back, it proves these young groups know good music
Jesus is coming back soon, don't be left behind forever.
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Revelation 19:7-9 ✝🌅
I never get tired of listening to these folks-doesnt matter the tune…They’re THAT good👍

I have watched/listened to this at least fifty times in the last few months. I love this band. True musicians! Keep up the music !
This is definitely one of the best covers of this song I ever heard. Brilliant arrangement and the bass voice… OMG, what an amazing deep voice! Perfectly synchronized with the instruments. Thanks for this!

An absolutely fantastic group of very talented musicians. Love that bass voice!
Great song....great musicians...perfect voice....And A great Location Too.....Thanks...for this true western feel I picked up through all those great Hollywood movies all my growing up ....
This was one of the first songs I heard as a child that registered. First through my mother, and then later through my half-blood native grandfather who introduced me to so many things I would never know of otherwise. Wonderful rendition. Thank you so much for this, and for the memory of a man who I wish was still here to hear it.
The first time I heard this song 65 years ago, my skin got up and crawled around the room. Still gets a thrill.
Wow!!,one of those best musical instruments and ghost riders I ever watch.I like you guys.May GOD bless you all and famillies.
The women singers add another dimension to the music and song. Well done.
I’ve listened to this song my whole life, many different versions, you all did it justice. Great job.
Just stumbled across this group and this version of ghost riders. I always loved this song and there are a lot of versions out there. I love the way they’ve done it. Can’t get enough of it. Hope they will do more songs with the bass cover.
I m 63 and this is probably the best rendition Id ever heard.
Willie Nelson @ Johnny Cash the best.
Two of my favorites while growing up; The Brothers Four and Peter, Paul & Mary! I need more of this.
I have always loved this song, but never did I get chills when listening to it. Loved your cover of this classic! So glad you popped up in my CZcams feed.
I was never a 'southern gal' ... My parents moved around a bit in midwest and east, but I remember these songs and loved them then, as I do now hearing Southern Raised renditions. Thanks Southern Raised for great, young memories :)
For me this is one of the best group I've heard of for years
Love it... this guy's voice is both soothing and haunting at the same time... I love this song no matter who covers it but this version is one of my favourites...
Love the memories of this song. These folks do a great version, now everyone go find the old recordings, especially Vaughn Monroe and Johnny Cash.
Marty Robbins my favorite;
This version is unique❤️
CZcams finally suggested something awesome! Outstanding playing and vocals. They have some really great bluegrass gospel songs as well.
Best version I have heard yet! Guys you ran shivers up my spine.
Best version is the original version.
omg. my last 60 years of enjoyment made possible by a new band… i’m in!
Excellent! They made me travel to the good old west! Nostalgic, yet happy to hear them.
Awesome song by an awesome quartet!
That's what I'm talking about ol'son what a song and that deep deep commanding voice I've listen to several versions of this song and only have been impressed and moved by a few versions "this was one of those times" thank you
Y’all are absolutely incredible!! And such a Blessing!!
When I first started watching this I didn’t expect much after listening to Vaughn Monroe, Marty Robbins, and Johnny Cash, but these people are really good. Great sound, haunting singer, perfect voice for ghost riders.
Wonderful being a county from Texas gotta say loved all the songs and will be listening to this working the fence line. That lady playing the fiddle has it going to the top
I am 74, hispanic, and I love the country american music.
F yeah ....me too
Hi folks, all are fine musicians, with a great presentation. When I was much younger, this is one of the songs one had to learn how to play to be accepted with the cool people. Wonderful memories.
Many legends have made this song their own, add yourselves to the list...magnificent, loved it!
I watch this video a couple of times a day. I'm 72 and this is the best version of this song I've heard. Thanks
You might Geoff Castellucci version. If so you're welcome I'm only 66
I'm a northener sitting here on a Sunday night at 1245 AM because in have off for President's Day. Absolutely blown away by you guys after a random recommendation. Lead singer has an amazing voice.
im not a young man any more and never really cared to much for covers or remakes .that said ya'll nailed this you put your own touch to it without butchering a beautiful song great job . you get my thumbs up for sure...
Great version! I like how the fiddle break gives it a kind of Celtic feel ( but I guess bluegrass music has its roots in Irish and Scottish traditional music.) whereas the harmonies and whistling give it a more Ennio Morricone spaghetti Western feel for a nice contrast.
Hey thanks!!
What a voice on that guy!!! Wooow!!! Love it!
Wow , today is November 5 th of 2023 , 2 yrs later n I just heard this version of this song for the first time , I think by far , this is the best version I've ever heard , wow amazing n haunting n deep bass voices ! Love, love, love it !! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️💯💯💜💯💯💯💯💃💃💃💃💃💃💃

You guys are simply amazing, no one can match this group style, sound and talent. Congratulations my friends.👍👍👍👍
You guys are fantastic this song brings beautiful memories of my grandparents and family singing this song and playing their instruments. Thank you
A bass version of this? Best I ever heard. Listened to this for years but this out does all others
The music of old times, nothing like this. Lovely. This music.
Didn't realise this song could slap any harder than it already does. Sure wouldn't wanna bet against y'all!👍🎶❤
I absolutely LOVE the deeper bass voice of this. Also, the sort of "modernized old school" sound is just amazing.
This is also one of my favorite songs and this time, I have never heard of sung like this before. It is hard to describe but how unique you sound and so mellow ans smooth. Your voice is so low and strong and gives me chills and I definitely would like to hear it again and again. lI am 83, soon to going on to age 84. This brings back memories and I could hear Ghost Riders in the Sky, forever. Truthfully, hearing it today
is the best I have heard, ever.👍
I still get goose bumps every time I hear this.
Spectacular! I’m sitting in the Walmart parking lot blasting as loud as possible
💕
Wow, thanks so much! Love to hear that!
Walmart seems the be the joint for that
If it's too loud, you're too old!
What an amazing cover!!!
You're all quite astonishing.
I wholeheartedly agree with what other posters have written about the excellent video work.
It's so lovely that people are carrying on this old masterpiece.
This is the best version of that song that I've heard love his voice
Don't know who is responsible for this arrangement but you have certainly made it your own. I've heard many different artist do this song but none is as refreshing and delightful as this. Congratulations on a job well done.
Das stimmt! Songs, die man schon Tausende mal hörte, wirken oft langweilig. Dieses Arrangement überhaupt nicht!
Hört sich nach studierten Voll - Profis an!

My mom loved this song . I remember when i was very little she would this song sung by Riders of the purple sage .then by Tennessee Ernie Ford, Dean Martin, Marty Robbins, Burl Ives and many many more . I think this group did a down right fair job of it.. I listen to it again and again.
OMG I got chills listening to this. FANTASTIC
