- The Blues Brothers accidentally get booked to play as a Bluegrass band but put on a great show regardless singing the Johnny Cash classic, '(Ghost) Riders in The Sky'.
What is Blues Brothers 2000 (1998) about?
Eighteen years after the Brothers' original "mission from God", Elwood Blues (Dan Aykroyd) is getting out of prison and discovering that much has changed in the time he's been away. His partner, Jake, is gone, his band is no longer together and the orphanage where he grew up has been demolished. Elwood soon realizes that he must embark on a whole new mission - to reassemble the old band, this time with the help of a soulful bartender (John Goodman), compete at Queen Moussette's (Erykah Badu) Battle of the Bands and set a wayward orphan named Buster on the path to redemption. In the midst of the mayhem, he's got to prove to the police that there's magic in the music...and a mysterious method behind the Blues Brothers' madness. Special appearances by B.B. King, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Johnny Lang, Blues Traveler, Eric Claption and many more. It's an action-packed comedy with lots of Rhythm and Blues.

Thank you John Goodman for helping to make this happen. It was long overdue.
Cab Calloway lives forever in that great big concert hall in the sky.
Are you talking about a different song? Because Ghost Riders in the sky is by Johnny Cash.
@@SkitSkat674,no, After John Belushi died, so did the plans for the sequel. Thankfully, John Goodman has always been a fan. He jumped at the chance when he was offered the part. Hallelujah!
RIP John Belushi. Even without John's presence, the sequel was still lit 🔥
No, no it wasn't.
@@jediknightgeo Yes it was!
I agree, John Goodman was alright, hard to replace someone so well known like Belushi, especially after someone’s death or health problems keeps them from performing anymore.
Agreed. The hate/disregard received for his performance was not warranted AT ALL. There was failures in the movie, but not everything could solely be blamed on him
I know goodman and aykroyd were not the same as belushi and aykroyd but I think these two did great I think been even better if john belushi s brother jim belushi was in this
I don't care how silly this film is, it's AWESOME! I know some people don't like it, but I think it's a classic. The Music is awesome and well chosen. Both these films will be on my favourites list forever!!!!
Lol the amount of times ive used were on a mission from god when asked what your doing 😂
@@benjamincamilleri88 HE HE, that's funny
❤
Classic to cult movie status.
It is considered a cult Classic 🎬 in Australia. Ii almost always appears on Aussie Free-to-Air TV on New Year's Eve
Loved the Blues Brothers all my life (I turned 70 last week) 👍🏻
CONGRATS ! IM 67😊
Love them for their crazy behaviour. Sorry. Miss some words to describe my love to them.
Parabéns
🎉
I'm 17 and I feel old knowing I loved this😂
once the riders appear i get chills. the imagery is what i imagine the song to be a tale of
This is my favorite part of the movie
I'm actually one of those people who love this film unironically
I still love the Ghost Rider - Ghost Riders in the sky - Spiderbait + Link version where they used footage from the movie but this version is excellent. A definite second favorite version for me.
Love the American Flag Background.
This scene scared me as a kid
Whoever devised this presentation IS A PRESENTATION GENIUS !
It’s sad that nobody in my generation likes this type of music I’m 15
Wow !!! this is new to me from America.
R.I.P. JOHN BELUSHI GONE WAY TOO SOON THIS FILM 🎥 IS DEDICATED TO U BLUES BROTHERS 💙 WILL NEVER DIE!💙💯💯💯💯💯😪😔💔
Una película excelente gracias a la música que se incluyó en esta
Blues Brothers vs Ghostbusters
loved this movie as a kid, and this scene convinced me the song itself had a power to summon storms.
I always felt in the clouds mayne john was in the sky giving his blessing
This is one of the best movies ever made
My dad used to show me this video a lot when I was younger, he’s still alive, I just like this video a lot
Lol as a kid, this was my favorite song in the movie 🤣
The movie might not be up to the first one, but this cover and scene is so cool and does justice to this legendary song
Blues Brothers paying respect to the tune
What more could you ask for if it puts a smile on your face a timeless classic
First time seeing this vid, I am a Blues Brothers fanatic.
Goodman was not half the singer that Belushi was, but he still did a decent job at filling in...
The blues brothers rock...big props to John Goodman im sure you miss Belushi as much as the rest of us...and it must have been a hard role to fill but in the end its all about the laughs and i was laughing...that is what comedy is about...
I always loved the Blues Brothers, loved the movies and loved the music….just great fun to watch and listen to…..RIP John, you are missed. HIGH 5….👍❤️🙏🏼
its thanks to dan that blues became popular again
I was just twelve years old when I was watching this movie and I didn’t even understand the language back then but that music took my heart and made it beat really fast
Blues Brothers FOREVER!!! 👍😜🥰
Own this movie still on VHS and still own the soundtrack album on CD,bonified classic and it has earned that title.
This is definitely a guilty pleasure
first time i saw this movie i was flying F class from Anchorage to Chicago on a United 757
As much I like johnny cash I think aykroyd and goodman did best version ever
The ONLY allowed musicals out there, Bleus brothers 4 ever!!!🤩😍🤩😍🤩😍
Hello how are you doing today?😊
I want nothing more than to go to this concert
An excellent set of movies great musicians playing the best they got
I’ll watch it every time cause it’s the Blues Brothers
They were actually referring to the Country Music Bluegrass Band called "THE GOOD OLE BOYS". So the Blues Brothers accidentally got booked to play as "The Good Ole Boys" and NOT "The Bluegrass Brothers", so the real GOOD OLE BOYS showed up and said "THAT WAS OUR JOB TO GET BOOKED IN, NOT YOURS". Charles Napier played Tucker McElroy, the lead vocalist of that bluegrass band 'The Good Ole Boys' and the driver of their Good Ole Boys Winnebago.
Direct from Nashville
I think that was in the first film.
LOVE John and Dan as The Blues Brothers- and OF COURSE ON SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE!
I REALLY get the chills whenever I hear this song!
It's an absolute classic, absolutely!¡!
It was ALWAYS about the music.
Thanks, John, for many enjoyable years of talent
Love this song. One of the songs that I favored before rock n roll.
I thought Johnny Cash is R&R.
@@siewheilou399 I guess that he is R&R but when I first heard it it was done by a Country & Western group - a quartet I think. I looked for it in Wikipedia and the article mentioned Vaughn Monroe but that doesn’t ring any bells for me. It was a very long time ago and I was 8 ish. I had a 78 record of it at one time. My folks had the record before they had a record player. No matter because whoever performs it I love it. It was fun to see/hear the Blues Brothers sing it.
Cash wasnt the first guy to sing the song, it was a guy in the 40s
I don't give a rat's who don't like it. Tis a great show giddy up
The harmonica solo was wooooow
I LOVE everything about this!! And the movie is great, too!!
Its magic!! My 19 and 17 years old nieces love this song!!
I love this film and especially the music
am only 35, and i LOVED blues brothers 2000 in my younger years, this song especially
It's a good romp a fun movie to kick back relax and not have to examine why it just is enjoy the silly crazy fun and the music Just Saying ...
Exactly. If you want a deep post modernist introspection of the human condition this is probably not the film for you. If you want a bunch very cool songs played by outstanding musicians all connected by a whimsical plot. Then look no further.
Pretty Great. Plus They kept "The Ghost Herd in the Sky" Lyric in the Song. Song. Only 5 Recordings have used Ghost Herd its in the Lyrics, written by Stan Jones, but seldom used in all of these. Many, many Recordings. 😊 😅
Hey how are you doing today?😊
Personaly, this is one of the best weshins of the gost rider song that i am avear of
LOL! That's what I call comedy with a comedic twist!
brothers blues!
Bob Wills and the Texas play boy's made this song famous !!!!!!!!!!!!
😂Both types of music-country and western!!Absolute classic movie❤
Yippi-i-yayyyyyyyyyy
Yippi-i-yooooooooooooo
TUNE The first Ghoster Riders was recorded by Stan Jones in 1948. Burl Ives own version in early 1949. Vaughn Monroe, Peggy Lee, and Bing Crosby in 1950's. The most popular was done by Vaughn Monroe. Remember those black hard shellac records that broke easily, if you don't, you are too young to comment on the subject. Johnny Cash only performed the song!
Ain't no music like country music!👌🤠
And I find myself smilin' and dancin' alone on my chair
What a great song, blue brothers were at the time bloody fantastic now their just fantastic.
This should gotta Oscar
I absolutely love this movie and the 1st one
Classic😊
Mars ATTACKS! Classic! Another great movie! You know… along with this one…
This is a great movie. One of my favorite Danny Kaye movies, The Five Pennies
❤❤❤❤❤ Chicago love this Boys
"You look like ZZ Top!"
This song is the soul of cowboy's America! ⚡🏇✌️👌😎
A wonder...
Eram simplesmente demais.
Nos dias de hoje não há mais essas músicas que ultrapassam décadas. Saudades de um tempo que não volta.
I couldn’t get into this one, but the music is still great
A serious classic 😂❤
Glad I happened upon the Blues Brothers!!
Funny and still entertaining 😅
Love America north
As much as I love Johnny Cash it's wrong to refer to Ghost Riders as "Johnny Cash classic". The song comes from way before Cash sang it.
Stan jones 1948 or early 1949. Burl Ives also did a rendition in 1949
@@danrossell6375 And the great Vaughn Monroe!
And Spiderbait (obviously, for "Ghost Rider")
Classic movie. Just a great one.
Love this film still like the original but this good
Wouldn't be cool see day aykroyd john Goodman jim Belushi Joe morton in another film

Love this film, too. It's one of my favorites.
Simply Superb!!
Ghost riders in the sky
Excellent ce countryside! ❤
Those boys are so well seasoned that they do this in their sleep. Roy Clark is a national treasure for sure!
I didn't know Roy Clark was associated with this film!
@@richardkut3976 he wasn't. This is just highlighting the song, not so much the singer.
Mr. Clark, did not write it.
It's a hit from the 40's.😊
Take care,
@richardkut3976 I know he didn't write it. Have you heard Burl Ives sing it. So many good renditions.
I love this movie song .
Bello, non quanto il primo ma bello
Legendary song and movie! Fantastic , from Italy
