Yep, I also played this all the time, and trained up my dogs so much on that game, also had a cat or 2. It was so much fun when I revisited it years ago, and I check on them every once in a while

Fun Fact:
My labrador's name [Samira] originated from Nintendogs. I had a Corgi there who could do all the tricks and was first in every contest (I spent a lot of time on nintendogs okay? xD). I loved that dog so much I would spend all my time there.
So when we went to pick up my puppy and the woman there asked me what I will name her, I was so overwhelmed with it I just said 'Samira' and that was it.

You gotta spend time in the park to do the frisbee practice. Train your dog to not only chase the disc, but jump for it, and then most importantly, IMMEDIATELY return with the frisbee and give it to you.

The only experience I have of these bastards is when they appeared as stage hazards in Smash
I still have the original Nintendo DS game card version of Nintendogs. Haven't played it in years but I do know that I would always cry whenever I had to get rid of a dog just to get a new one. Also, my Shiba Inu was the god of the disk and obstacle competitions.
