Did you make it clear that Netflix didn't make this film, only licensed it?
I didn't. I guess I probly should have said that at some point though - but given my initial premise in the first video that this is the only version available on Netflix, and that it will lead to some people mistakenly watching it instead of the anime, I think it's still fair to call it "Netflix's"
Wait, didn't Netflix said they wanted to make their own adaption of "Fullmetal alchemist"?
Imagine if the One Piece live action is cringe too, then i will stop Watching Netflix
@@claireaquos6532 if that's the case like Netflix own Death Note & Cowboy Bepop before it and the upcoming live action One Piece series
@@RpgBlasterRpg No you won't. You'll just rant for a bit, take a break, and come back when they have a show that interests you.
Now if you're quitting because of the ads and price increase, I'd believe that.
Father's true form looked like the tar monster from scooby doo 2 monsters unleashed
Yes! I thought the same thing
Exactly what I was thinking lmao
holy cow
It looked like ps2 animation
I know the Nina erasure is insulting but I'm honestly more offended by how terrible the dwarf looks.
There are a lot of things I don't understand about this movie... but most of all... what I don't understand... is why they didn't just call it "Fullmetal Alchemist: The Promised Day".
It's right there... it's in the source material. I don't understand.
FullMetal Alchemist: The Last Jedi
@@SodaPopBot Ah yes, the sequel to Fullmetal Alchemist: Revenge of the Sith
that would require them to think even a little bit

Every scene with Armstrong is the best scene in the movies
I always wondered why live action anime is a thing. Most of the time the live action adaptation is just retelling what the manga and anime already did, but worse. I think most fans would rather see the money used to make these live action films be used to make another animated movie or season.
Advertising. Anime is made to advertise manga or light novels so the publisher can sell more subscriptions and merchandise. When the anime is over and interest starts to wane they dump some low budget live action film to get people talking about it again. Even if nobody sees the movie they at least talk about the series which brings in more merch sales.
Not all live action series are bad but sometimes you end up with stuff like this
I guess it could depends on if you want a particular actor play a certain role in an anime adaptation movie. For the record, I'd totally watch a Naruto live action movie if they cast Johnny Depp as Kakashi.
0:55 It was actually blue in the manga !! From official colored pieces (which is like.. 2) shows that while greeds inside ling he's blue, it was only red in brotherhood !! Hope that makes sense
I see what you mean, but..,
Also, in the coloured pieces, a few characters’ eye colour changes, for example, the homunculi’s eyes (with the exception of Lust, gluttony and sloth) switch from red to purple and colours in between
Similarly, the alchemy lightning also changes a lot, from green to yellow, red blue, sometimes without a philosophers stone
Maybe the real alchemy is the friends we made along the way.
You joke but that's LITERALLY what Ed learns by the end. XD
Then it's very ominous that this film is called "The Final Alchemy"...
In this movie, Envy legitimately could’ve lived if he didn’t say “Hey, Mustang, I bet you didn’t know I killed Hughes, ‘cause I did! I killed ‘im!”
And then he was almost dead in 3 hits.
Man, the homunculi are *really* powerful..!
They mentioned equivalent exchange twice... the thing the anime mentioned at the start of _every episode_ to hammer the fact in... that is hilarious.
There can be some decent or even good anime live action adaptations. I actually did live the Erased adaptation because it was more grounded in opinion. Give it a watch on Netflix if you haven't already.
As my (more vague than I'd like) memory goes, the live action adaptation was overall worse than the animated one, although it did a better job of sticking the landing.
@@boobah5643 it was wasn't better than the anime of course, I can't think of any that are. As an adaptation, it was better than most I've seen.
@@omariwalker1006 Speed Racer
@@boobah5643 from what I've heard, the live action rushed through the first half of the manga and spends more time with the second half, the anime ( apparently ) did the opposite
man I'd rather watch the original 3 times instead of any of these once so kudos for sticking through
Omg, I'm so confused...huh? What? But the loudest question of them all: WHY?!
I feel so sorry for you, but at the same time, I'm very entertained by your reactions and commentary.
God, what a mess. I wish they never even finished adapting it into live action because some poor sucker will watch this and think it’s “basically the same thing.” When it’s in every way inferior.
I feel like FMA03 being adapted into a live action movie could’ve worked more so than the manga because it actually had a plot that spanned less time and locations. It also had a much smaller cast (and ones like Hawkeye, Team Mustang, and Armstrong were limited to minor roles) and the Elrics aren’t apart that much so the central focus wouldn’t be divided often. Plus it could retool some ideas and make them have more time to breath (like the tail end of the series) while excising some filler. My preference is the manga, but I would’ve been satisfied with a live action adaptation of FMA03 since it’s better suited to a trilogy of films than FMAB was.
As it is this live trilogy is dog crap because it tried to adapt a very long and detailed tale with too much cuts.
This has only hurt me because I had to realize the anime isn't on Netflix anymore.
Oh wow this was a short video. However seeing all three videos really made me want to re-watch the show...
Okay, I know everything about this movie is terrible, but can we appreciate that the casting of these dogs is adorible? Both Alexander and this dog are so damn cute. At least they got that right.
4:15 why is this literally that one scooby doo 2 movie monster but smol
My parents keep watching the Netflix adaptations of anime I like and then trying to talk to me about them thinking that they understand my favorite shows now this is torture someone please make it stop
Seriously, why couldn't they do an original story?!
Gluttony is starting to look like he's a PS1 graphic.
Getting worse? Is that possible?
I think they could’ve been better if they had one movie for each part of the story, so 5 movies, then they could figure out what to focus on, better
Have you reviewed anything tron? Your life is gonna change after the second one!
4:09 while technically not impossible I can’t imagine someone could make it through two and a half of these movies without having seen the original to clown on how bad the live action is. If there is anyone who could manage it however they would need to have such a high tolerance to awful movies/bad taste that I’m not sure they would mind. Like to stomach this as your first exposure to the franchise I would think you’d need a lobotomy.
Thanks man I didn't think I would ever watch the movies. Glad I know how they be, big thanks 👍
If you shuffled the episodes of fmab you'd get more continuity and context than watching these movies
Wait... Izumi appears in this movie? Was she in the previous one? What a clusterfuck.
Also, this is one of the worst green screens i have ever seen in my life. 6:24.
Between the worst episodes of Ben 10 and this who do you think is worse?
Sloth looks like a stuffed toy straight out of Wall Mart. Like Bane from Batman & Robin.
One thing the live action movies of Fullmetal and Attack on Titan have always bothered me is that all the characters save for a few in both series are clearly European. Hell, FURHER Bradley is self explanatory.
I will forever hold this against netflix and warner bros
These live-action anime adaptations feel like they were made for Disney channel
Wow the movies are a literal trainwreck with some small sprinkles of 'hey that happened in the manga i think?' thrown in there at random
"You turned yourself into a Philosopher's Stone to force your way inside of me?"
Well, when you say it like that...
Now, you are free to stand up & move forward.
Wait they made a third one
i will never understand why japan doesnt have good V effects.
Cinema.
Since they used Ed actor as young Hoenheim, they had to use him as Father, since his appearance is that of young Hoenheim
To be fair, that’s not easy to get around, however, some movies have used the same actor for 3 guys and didn’t make it obvious
I think it was also their misconception from the art style of the manga as well. Young Hoenheim and father DO look a lot like Ed, intentionally. So i think they took that to mean "clearly they are completely identical"
or maybe they just didnt have the budget to find another actor who looked similar enough to get the point across
Why did Netflix thought or anyone in Japan 🇯🇵 for that matter thought it was great idea to make 🤔 more 🙄 FMA live action films!? Just why even after the first one was such a disaster!
Even though the Movies are Terrible. it would be fun showing this to someone who never watched fmab and let them figure out what is supposed to happen
not a fan of these adaptations but all the Rysouke slander is so foul please he's literally one of the top actors in Japan
yeah i dont think its his fault tbh. im sure hes a good actor, he just had really shit material here to work with and terrible directing clearly. Like the vibes and the expressions weren't working here but i really feel like he was doing his best with the awful writing he was given
@@bnasheeThank you omg I'm so tired of explaining this exact point to people. One of the only reasons I sit thru most live actions is solely for the actors. I follow quite a lot and wish to support them for the hard work they're putting in. While this adaption was mid, these actors don't deserve to get hated on for simply following the script.
I could have watched an hour of you suffering through this lmfao
6:23 I'm sorry did they CG the freaking gravestones? not even good CG, this is cheap indie horror game dev levels of CG, and at least then it's atmospheric for it to look off
The last third of Brotherhood it's my favorite part of it all, how can they screw it this hard?
Well, they didn't deliver any part of the story anyway.
I get the impression that the films care more about scenes from the manga and anime that looks cool, and that's pretty much it. Consistency? Making a good, coherent movie? That's not important.
Thanks for warning me about these abominations.
This should've been a live action tv series instead.
Imagine if the One Piece live action is cringe too, then i will stop Watching Netflix
Dude, Armstrong is the funniest and best parts of these movies. XD He looks so out of place and goofy.
Well they NEVER do a good job of any Anime they make both in anime form or for Live action movies.
They tried to include everything from the anime and ended up including nothing.
Olol
I've legit seen fan films with better CGI.
I would rather watch a 7-hour long video of just my asshole exposed with a messy bedroom as the background rather than see anything from these movies again
First🫦
This is genuinely one of the worst movies.....kinda ever.
They show all these 1 for 1 equivalent scenes from the anime and manga and don't even having the basic respect to earn those scenes and character introductions.
I would have liked it if they just cut significant portions of the story down and built those up instead. FMA Brotherhood was not a perfect series but it was a good one that deserves due respect and this live action series despite plenty of times while watching had me rolling my eyes saying "i know what that is" had none to give.
I feel bad for you. You had to watch this. If anything they highly disrespected FMA
This is indeed the worst movie. It took me THREE DAYS to watch all of it. It's so bad it makes you lose sense of time. I hate it so much.
10th
Sloth cgi is trash
Full metal alchemist? More like full metal ow-chemist AMIRITE
This series of movies is definitive proof that the principles of equivalent exchange aren't real. You put in over 6 hours of your life and got nothing out of it but shit.
Live action adaptations are and always have been a mistake
I never read the manga, or watched the anime, but this seems like the most interesting rendition of the series
In all the wrong ways, mind you.
