I'm from Detroit and when we got Chauncey I celebrated and new were contenders and a piece or 2 away. Once we got Sheed I celebrated knew we already won the championship. Greatest Defensive team ever. Literally. Held the most teams under 70 ever and under 100 ever. They were so dominant defensively that teams celebrated when they scored 70 points even though they lost and got whooped. 😄 I'll never forget the Nets celebrating 70 points when they lost and they just played and lost in the NBA finals.

You nailed it. His leadership and mental game are unmatched. He really was the best leader and floor General of his generation. He played the game like chest and lead his teams better than every PG he played against and he played against all of them and his generation had alot of great PGs. Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Baron Davis, Allen Iverson, Chris Paul, Tony Parker and even Steph Curry when Chauncey was old and Steph just came into the league. There are a lot more guys to that I can't remember. I'm truly grateful and honored to be from Detroit and seeing live in person at the games lead Detroit to greatness.

His dedication to his family, his team, and the players is evident in the way he speaks of them and his relationship to them. As he often says, "they play the game the right way" and Chauncey seems to be playing the "game of life" the right way. Thanks, Matisse for another engaging and well-done video.

Pre, During and post playing and during coaching career. His family grounding keeps him guided. But now all is forgiven. I thank Rick and Kevin McHale ( at Minnesota) for being stand up guys and being truthful to Chauncey. I always feel if you're a good person, good things and good ppl will be in your life to guide you. I also totally agree with Chauncey when he said he played to win. Not caring about the stats. If it happens that I scored 30 or scored 6 and we win......you got the end result.....the win and your contributions to that win.
