So what if, one day, we all stopped eating meat, and people stopped hunting/fishing? There would be a massive outbreak of the animals we usually eat (🐄, 🐖, 🐓...), then those animals would destroy or eat our crops. Some animals cannot survive in crowded places, but those that don't eat meat would have very little vegetables and non-meat products to eat due to the outbreak. Sure there are animals that consume the ones we eat, but we can't rely on the predators alone to take care of the outbreak. This is why we have "food chains" within our environment: to maintain equilibrium. For example: 🐻➡️🐟 Bears eat fish to survive and prevent overcrowding of fish in the lake. We also eat fish and (hopefully) fish for them periodically. The fish who are still living eat whatever is in their habitat (such as kelp, plankton, etc) for energy and to control the amount of their food that is still in their habitat. Not saying this will happen, but it should be something to consider. Thank you.
Here's how I look at it, if humans don't kill animals then they'll lose their lives. If humans kill animals, then animals lose their lives. There's always a winner and a loser and that depends on humans (luckily).
And you cannot forget deer. If we stopped hunting deer, they will just overgrow in population size due to their not being a dominant species to them, which will destroy many food chains. Just from one chain being destroyed.
I think it's also funny that peta has no idea that the Tanooki is a japanese MYTHOLOGICAL CREATURE. Complaining about someone wearing tanooki hide is the same complaining about someone wearing unicorn skin.

I remember when was 14, my family were going to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner and when we got there I saw the worst type of advertising. There was a billboard right behind the restaurant with a photo of a dog and pig standing next to each other with the caption "Why love one, but eat the other?". What PETA (or whoever made that billboard) don't get is that the reason why eating dogs (at least here in the States) is considered taboo is simply because dogs are known as domestic companions who value their owner, while pigs could be either seen as a source of food, or a family pet (While most people see them as a food source). What's interesting is that dogs in other regions are seen as a food source (I think in some Asian countries) we say that's immoral but we can't judge people who follows normal customs. With all that to say this video just reminded me how disturbing that ad was, and that they deliberately placed it near a restaurant for either a greater shock value or to make a legitimate emphasis (it could be both). I'm a dog lover all the way, so that may have also made me biased to this.

When I first saw this video, I was confused - why would Dotkly make a video about Mario and PETA? It just seemed so... random.

So what if, one day, we all stopped eating meat, and people stopped hunting/fishing? There would be a massive outbreak of the animals we usually eat (🐄, 🐖, 🐓...), then those animals would destroy or eat our crops. Some animals cannot survive in crowded places, but those that don't eat meat would have very little vegetables and non-meat products to eat due to the outbreak. Sure there are animals that consume the ones we eat, but we can't rely on the predators alone to take care of the outbreak. This is why we have "food chains" within our environment: to maintain equilibrium.
For example:
🐻➡️🐟 Bears eat fish to survive and prevent overcrowding of fish in the lake. We also eat fish and (hopefully) fish for them periodically.
The fish who are still living eat whatever is in their habitat (such as kelp, plankton, etc) for energy and to control the amount of their food that is still in their habitat.
Not saying this will happen, but it should be something to consider. Thank you.

Here's how I look at it, if humans don't kill animals then they'll lose their lives. If humans kill animals, then animals lose their lives. There's always a winner and a loser and that depends on humans (luckily).
Nature will keep its balance, carnivores will reproduce more and eat these animals.
And you cannot forget deer. If we stopped hunting deer, they will just overgrow in population size due to their not being a dominant species to them, which will destroy many food chains. Just from one chain being destroyed.

I remember when was 14, my family were going to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner and when we got there I saw the worst type of advertising. There was a billboard right behind the restaurant with a photo of a dog and pig standing next to each other with the caption "Why love one, but eat the other?". What PETA (or whoever made that billboard) don't get is that the reason why eating dogs (at least here in the States) is considered taboo is simply because dogs are known as domestic companions who value their owner, while pigs could be either seen as a source of food, or a family pet (While most people see them as a food source). What's interesting is that dogs in other regions are seen as a food source (I think in some Asian countries) we say that's immoral but we can't judge people who follows normal customs. With all that to say this video just reminded me how disturbing that ad was, and that they deliberately placed it near a restaurant for either a greater shock value or to make a legitimate emphasis (it could be both). I'm a dog lover all the way, so that may have also made me biased to this.
