    Yeah the stalker is a pretty cool arc to play as. More of a scrapper person myself but the stalker is still good.

      Yeah, it is interesting how just changing out a few powers in the power sets can change the gameplay style.

      Same. I think I found stalker to be slow and disappointing compared to scrapper. It was the first archetype my friend I was getting into COH tried and she didn't like it either and gravitated to the other archetypes until settling on brute.

    Great video again! This may go without saying for experienced players, but not all enemy types are equal. Some are mostly melee, and these are great for stalkers. But some use ranged attacks a lot, like clockwork and Nemesis automaton. Those are bad matches. It is definitely not the easiest beginner archetype and it debuted in City of Villains, but it is possibly the most exciting archetype in the whole game. Now excuse me, I'm off to play a honorable assassin...

      That is true along with the fact that some enemy types have more hit points or defense.

    Having a stalker teamed with a tanker (to hold aggro) is a great combination. Add a healer for buffs can make a trio of death dealing fun. ;-)

    I've dropped Reds and Purples with my stalker. and it shocked me.

      In one assassinate attack? I have not tried that and as this was a guide to the Archetype I did not want to over-promise something I have not done myself.

    one caveat tho - the absolute first thing you want to do on any stalker is slot [stalker's guile: chance to hide] ATO in the assassination skill specifically as soon as humanly possible, even the baseline lvl 10 one works absolute miracles for your output all the way to 50 and it's upgraded variant

    Decided to give stalker another try and wound up with savage/energy Black Panther style hero. Kind of impressed with the assassination mechanic now that I understand how the AOE fear works. The cone attack is surprisingly useful and overall isn't as rigid as the dual blade I tried before. I might make him a main, but I have an idea for an ice melee stalker I want to try once I figure out the costume and aesthetic I want to go with.

      Nice I am glade you found a Stalker build that works for you.

      @@ControlledChaosGaming You'd think dual-blades would be a no-brainer for a stalker build but holy crap does it suck the fun out of it. I also did a psy/nin stalker too since I heard psy melee has good synergy with stalker. Accidentally made Psylocke lmao

    • @ControlledChaosGaming
      @ControlledChaosGaming  Před 20 dny +1

      @@solblackguy Yeah Psy does feel like Psylocke and is a very fun powerset for Stalkers.

    I keep trying to make stalkers but the builds I make turn out to be better as scrappers. Maybe the archetype isn't for me since it's the only one I haven't had success with. The closest thing I have is a dual-blade/darkness scrapper with all the concealment abilities and teleport travel power. I teleport into an area and open up with the fear AOE and combat teleport to different targets. He's basically an archeologist that found the tomb of a "bandit Pharaoh" so amused to have someone rob his grave that he bestowed his powers on him. I roleplay him against the circle of thorns and other magical themed enemies.

      First off that is a cool character bio. Second, it is ok if an AT is not your style. I can not stand playing controllers because they level so slowly when soloing at low levels.

    • @solblackguy
      @solblackguy Před 26 dny +1

      @@ControlledChaosGaming He's the only scrapper I have for now. I'm not 100% into the glass canon type gameplay but the concealment and teleports make him fun and feels like a pseudo stalker with some nice crowd control. Actualy when I play in groups, people think I'm a stalker with how I play him lol.
      I came up with the bio because I never had any magical themed heroes and wanted something different from a generic wizard since Multiverse of Madness was popular at the time. The whole Egyptian ninja thing just came to me while screwing around in the character creation.
