What I wouldn't give for Clown Summoning, and they arrive in a tiny car.
Was a fan of Robots/Dark Miasma on launch. Still a fan of it to this day.
I will be making that “hey get back here” build as soon as I get home, no stops.
That sucks to hear, mercenaries were always my favorite because they look so cool fully kitted out
Fair enough. I remember looking through the minions list when I first got this game and back when it was only mercs, necro, ninjas, robots, in that order... and I remember noticing at the time that the robots were the only ones that could Super-Leap and that they were super resistant if not immune to mind control, and came with natural metal armor and couldn’t feel pain... so already I’m thinking robots are overpowered from the start. Soldiers do look pretty cool vetted out but they and ninjas have very few resistances. Although one of the supposed early buffs/nerfs for human pets over robots or zombies was that they had more free thought to avoid confrontations and if you were doing Traps, the human minions have the sense to run away after they plant a bomb
I hear bots/cold is beast mode! I love the idea of thugs/poison because the brute can hand utilize the rebuff greatly without dying often
Thugs/poison is so much fun. Downside is the arsonist can be too squishy to keep up with a single target heal. But the debuffs work great for survivability. I'm taking down missions solo with orange enemies.
When i played CoH back in the days. I had a thugs/bubble combination. Worked really well they hardly died anymore at 50.
I am here today! Welcome back COH Homecoming!!!
How do you macro ninjas offense buff to a certain pet?
Lol 50 Beast/Nature here.....off the chain build....literally, lol!
agreed
I'm using bot/kin and beast/trap on the cake servers. It's pretty fun.
been necromancy/poison, ive been having fun with it
Darkness/Bots was my first character when this came out oh so many years ago.
Exiting a mission, I saw what I guessed was a pet. Right-clicking on it I saw dismiss (implying to me that it might be mine, nothing I recognized) but dismiss did nothing. Why would I see dismiss if it's not mine?
I'm not sure why it shows up, but it is true for any pet. The dismiss option shows up regardless of whose pet it is. It just only functions if it is your pet.
I'm curious to why Mercenaries are considered the worse of the MM pets? I haven't noticed any real issues when using them. If anything I had issues with the Beast pets. They seem to die the quickest leaving me open for a quick death myself. I gave up on my Beast MM. Is there data for pet ranking, health, DPS, ect, or is it just player preferences?
If you play on Thunderspy (I made this video before they updated) mercs have received unique buffs such as the medic being it’s own class of pet. Commando summons more I think and serum affects all your pets, instead of one. Combine that with the changes to how support powers work there, and you got a hearty MM. Most other pets have cool new changes too
@@statesmanspaljimmy I just started Thunderspy today. I love the pet customization. I also like the new Obedience secondary power set.
Can we customize our thugs / soldiers on Homecoming? I know we can rename them, but curious if I can make them identical to my actual character..? (IE: like a clone based character).
Nope, customizable pets (any class, not just Masterminds) is a Thunderspy exclusive and has been updated to have its own character creation type screen for making pet costumes :D support your alternative server developers by trying the updates they put so much effort in to
@@statesmanspaljimmy thank you for responding, I couldn’t find answer on either forums. Love your channel btw.
@@33TimberWolf The only class that can literally clone yourself on Coh:Homecoming is actually Illusion Controllers. you can take the phantom army ability and customize it to be your own character.
Thugs/ sonic is great as you get to max out the brutes resistance. There is a toggle you can put on them (I choose the brute) which lowers the resistance of near by foes, which taunts them to the brute. This increases his aggro bar so he does more damage.
Get Sonic Repulsion, slot the KB->KD proc, slap it on the bruiser, and he becomes a mobile earthquake KD patch. Noisy but effective!
any opinion on bots/elec?
I use to run a thug dark back in the day. But for gang war I slotted them with 2 defences IOs abd the rest for dmg progs. Did dumb dmg. One of my strongest toons I made
Can you do Sentenals next????
I’ll look in to sentinels soon, I already have a few thoughts on them I’ve made note of. I also played a thugs/dark on Homecoming for a while. Completely steamrolled groups haha.
I have Robots/Traps as a common theme. The FF generator really helps them survive.
Where to play these days?
I made a beast mm and it was a lot of fun. However, I was told that since they are melee only, starting in the mid 30s they are vulnerable to aoe control that starts happening more and more at that level ... SO ... you will curse the day you made this build.
Then I switched to Demons/Thermal because I heard it was great, but my demons have two liabilities so far: they fly quickly after anything that flees (things flee quite often) which causes huge aggro problems; and the have no defense against psionics which makes them extremely squishy in some fights. Also I don't like the demon's sounds and they don't do a lot of damage unless I use hell on earth (I put it on the ember demon), but hoe doesn't last long and has a long recharge. So .. I'm not liking demons either.
I might also mention that many people are saying there is a problem with beasts attacking for a few seconds then they stop and sit there for a while and do nothing. I did find that to be true (annoying to say the least). BUT it was also true for my demons. They just sit there for a few seconds while they are getting pounded. And if they are getting pounded by psionics then I'm really pulling my hair out. Heavy psionic attacks can even one shot them. So I'm am not seeing why people are so in love with demons/thermal. Oh yes ... another thing. The demons fight both melee and at range, which means I have to get two healing powers to keep them from dying. I tried just using the ranged heal, but that did not work at all.
I guess I'll try bots next. FF seems (like you said) boring, but maybe I'll try it. Traps seems interesting. One thing for sure though, demons are history for me. Just too many negatives. Hmm .. I see bots/cold mentioned below. I'll have a look at that too.
Bots/poison is a solo AV killer capable setup from back in the day
So For the Melee of Beasts, I have used two sets to be strong as heck. One is Kinetics as the pets being melee, they get healed from the kinetic range around the enemy, also you can do stuff like buffs the same way using steal strength and siphon speed.
another was Nature or Pain for the area effects too.
Holy crap i was waiting for you to get to bots/poison
You've never seen anyone do this combo? This combo is beast, one of the first solo AV and GM killers from CoV (the i4 nerf to regen scrappers on original launch killed the first GM killers)
Bots/poison. Do it. You will NOT be disappointed
What roleplay works with it?
I’m a lvl 17 controller I just purchased a spirit panther but he won’t fight... how do I control them as a controller and not a mastermind
That sounds like a pet not a fighting summon. Only summons from your power sets are fighting pets unless you get into the expensive limited use summons.
How do you slot demons and gang war with defensive buffs?
what is "burnout" he keeps talking about?
Burnout is the t4 power in the Super Speed pool. Burnout will refresh the cool Down of any primary or secondary power you have (but not your epic powers)
In this example, Thugs Masterminds have “Gang War” which is a click ability that summons about 10 extra thugs for a minute or so. Using Burnout, you can do a “double gang war” and get extra pets at the same time.
@@statesmanspaljimmy ok good to know this
What's the class in the teaser thumbnail?
It's a misleading thumbnail because there is no clown based MM set.
What do you mean by using burnout?
Burnout is a power pool choice, Speed I think, and it resets all cooldowns.
Is that Hasten?
Mercs Necro buffed recently. Bots nerfed hard.
Thanks for the hard work, but please get a better mic
I appreciate the feedback and thank you for watching the videos.
I was using a headphone mic for some of my older videos but from I believe this video on I’m using a C920 webcam as my mic. I’m still making adjustments each video to get the sound quality better but at least you shouldn’t hear me smacking my lips disgustingly into the mic anymore :) hope that helps
Please do let me know if you notice any other auditory issues in future videos and I’ll continue to do my best to give everyone the best listening experience.
Thugs/sonic rules, they all become tanky blasters. Put the -res aura and sorcery's spirit ward to keep him alive.
thugs are pathetic IMO, and bots are simply boring. ninjas look cool, but they are squishier than my gandma. the big demon is annoying with his constant howling.
mercs are noisy as hell in combat. they all have some kind of downside.
