This is the @Creality3D Ferret Pro 3d scanner! We put it to the test! Giving it 3 challenges. We tasked it to scan my face, scan some lexan, and scan a RC part! It preformed very well. These scanners use point clouds to extrapolate 3d geometry to create solid objects in 3d. Come hang out while i try to understand the nuances of IR 3d scanning, and see if this thing can print my face with out using any cad software.

NEW TOOL! We Put It To The Test!?! DOES IT SUCK?? Creality Ferret Pro 3d Scanner! - Zábava
Use athletes foot spray on the rc body before you scan. It will make for a better scan. Also washes off. Use it in the dental industry all the time.
GREAT TIP!
@@kpopRC If you don't want foot medicine on your objects, you can also use dry shampoo. 😉
I was thinking baby powder🤔
Non crunchy peanut butter
@@CPRC23 All purpose flour! It's truly all purpose, hahaha.
Love my scanner, you're totally right about it saving a ton of time to make things around existing shapes
I just got my Ferret from black Friday and I'm pretty pleased with it. There's a small learning curve, but if you're familiar with 3D editing software, then you're more than enough capable.
youve sold me! this is the exact use case i wanted this scanner for. hopefully itll be good enough and have enough detail for the 1/18 crawlers!
Could you scan a battery for an electric hand held machine to directly make a 3d print model of it with out modeling it in fusion360?
As you did with your face model. Or is the technology not there yet?
Would Bambu slice be possible to repkicate that rpm arm also? If you put it on a turn table and scan it more precisely?
yes. but any modification will need 3d modeling software. it won't be hollow
That scanner is insane. Really streamlined process 👍👍 I've used some structure from motion software before but it takes a lot of processing time or cloud processing.
Very cool, I havn't scanned anything since I had a s10+ back in 2020. Creality is sending me a ferret pro to test so this gives me a good idea what to expect being I'm a rc guy aswell. Bambu also sent me x1c so were running similar tools haha.
Game changer, cool stuff man!
There are actually tons of "clear" materials that are opaque in the infrared spectrum and vice versa
The Creality scanner they are currently advertising on CZcams looks quite a bit bigger than this one.
I wanted to see you print some control arms and durability test them
Nice scanner for the price. Under $300 right now with coupon! I just watched a review of a new Revopoint scanner. It seemed to have comparable or slightly better scanning, but mainly their updated software seems superior. The point cloud merging, model cleanup, and hole filling seemed excellent. That said, they are a good bit more expensive, though still reasonable. Nice video!
What coupon? It's $386 on Creality right now on sale. I'd love to find it for under $300...
@@Greg-JClick the link in his description. $350 with a $52 coupon you can click. At least in the USA.
@@Greg-J$254.15 Right now on the Creality store, but I think the sale ends tonight.
For the lexan scans maybe try chalk temporary marking in spray can, it can be washed off with water. And since its mat "paint", it should behave just right with the IR scan
3D scanning pays my bills and this is what we use (well, we have special 3D scanning sprays as well but they're a bit expensive for doing same job :D¨, but be aware that some sprays can damage some plastics. I destroyed one of my plastic headlight (1:1) lens by that...
when you scan a model, is it to scale or you need to adjust it? Have you tried it with software like blender?
it's to scale. they import into blender np
What would happen if you made a plaster mold of the body? I know doing that can make a good mold of the body and not wreck the body at all
Great video
That is cool
How do you get it to scan in color? I only get blue.
in configuration window that it makes you look at before clicking new scan, add colour to the colour mapping option.. you can't miss it.
Interesting CR-Scan Ferret Pro vs iphone 14 pro (lidar).
It looks like Intel real sense sensor that been used in 3D scanners 10 years ago. Even software and results look similar. You may find them used for cheap Shining 3D Einstar is more expensive but results looks more usable.
im surprised they didn't use lidar. i guess that's the next step for budget scanners.
Noice!
Hey man, where is the mcd w5 dune buggy? 👌🏼
it got sold. The motor is in my xr5 now.
Or the spray paint that you can peel off
Where are creality christie's teeth?! Cheers to beers bro! 🍺🍺
HAHAHAH. CHERRY.
@@kpopRC that's right, Cherry! Still glad you got the joke
The PC is available to use wirelessly also. I just stole the wifi info from my phone.
Seems ideal for the things I'd be looking to use a scanner for 🤔 currently torn between this and the revopoint inspire 😬😬
Cheers to 🍻
Cant concentratie on what youre saying as long as you show up like a muppet doll
For the benefit of those who wish to scare women and children, could you do a video on your eyebrow technique?
it's been a long eyebrow flex journey.
Still. Crap they claim it;s 0.1mm but it actually 10mm off, just look at the car bonnet dents
it works for what i need it for. but it's not the most robust system. infact it seems like old hardware stock, with slightly upgraded software. which for the price is probably still the best you can get. Where's the lidar creality?
for big parts is okay, but you need big printer to make them. Although most 3d printed parts all small with small printers. Also would love to see integration into scanner software all the model finishing software. @@kpopRC
