    I sure appreciate this video. Was on the fence about which generator to go with but this told me everything I needed to know.

    Wanted your opinion on something. I’ve been trying to watch videos on this to see if there is any place to run a cable lock through to prevent theft. Looks like the only place is those handles. They look like plastic but hard to tell. Do they seem strong enough or do you think they can be broken. Or is there any place else on that generator to put a cable lock.

      Great question. I run a cable lock through the top handles and it works well. They are solid and would be much more work to remove or break. The fold out handle is a no go. It could be taken apart with a screw driver or cut easily. There are no other areas to attach the cable in this style of generator. Thanks for watching!

    I have the same generator. Did you have any issues with the propane regulator? My gen will hardly run using propane. I understand they had a bad batch of regulators

    I have this model that I use to power bowfishing lights at night - it’s been great, but the plastic ez dial has stripped out and will not turn the fuel valve or choke cable any longer. I can’t find the replacement knob anywhere online

      Thankfully, we’ve had no issues with ours. I would have expected Champion would have replacement parts for these but if not, check on parts for the Wen brand. We have a Wen 3800 and it’s the same case that the champion uses. Hopefully you’ll find something to replace it.

      I looked for the Champion part number and couldn’t find anything. They list the part on Wen’s website. 56380i-1414. The only difference is that it has a starter button for the electric start. It’s listed at $8.51.

    i don't need the 30 i don't have a camper. im in c.c. tx. I wanna use it in case of a hurricane. And I lose power. will it run a 8000btu ac and Frigerator. wifi and tv a couple of laps.

    • @BuildYourOwnAdventure
      @BuildYourOwnAdventure  Před 12 dny

      That is tough to answer without knowing the ratings for each appliance. Just an average 8000 btu AC uses somewhere in the range of 2500 watts. You should be able to find how many watts your refrigerator uses on the label. It's going to use more when the compressor turns on and then level out at a lower wattage. This generator has a running wattage of just over 3500 watts. Your TV and wifi shouldn't use much, but they will add to the draw. Depending on the fridge size, I think it can do it, but you may be close to the overload point.

      @@davidsalinas4872 they are both great units. We’ve had both for several years and never had an issue with either. The Wen has electric start which is very nice and in the past it was cheaper than the Champion. I haven’t checked prices in a while but you can’t go wrong with either unit. Glad the info was helpful and thank you for watching our channel.

      an 8000 BTU AC uses at most 800 watts RUNNING - surge is at most 2500 watts for 2-3 seconds... you don't say what size refrigerator - could be anywhere from a few amps to 15 amps... look at the info plates on each appliance and add up the amps...
