Was wanting to buy this same one. And planning on putting a chain or cable lock where you have yours because I do hotshot and sleep in hotels so it would be outside. Do you think those handles are strong enough from being broken or cut? Are they plastic or metal?

I doubt the handles are strong, I imagine a cordless saw would cut it easy. It works for me because it is just deterrent while I'm sleeping or in a parking lot doing a quick errand.

Do you cover it when it rains or is it weather proof

It is somewhat weather proof, It has been through a couple of rain storm and no problems. I do plan to cover it with a tarp.
