Polygon couldn’t stomach the violence and Skill Up was one of those guys that Neil predicted wouldn’t like the game. Both reviewers are entitled to their opinions, but don’t come close to the number of people who are praising this game. Gotta look at the facts, sir.

I watched the first 3 hours, so if you want info here it is SPOILERS:
First 30 minutes you play as a combo of Joel and Ellie. First the cutscene where Joel is pretty much explaining the ending of TLOU, then you play as Ellie. You’re informed that Joel hasn’t been back to replace the guys at the post which is unlike him, so you head out to his last known location. Here, literally 30 MINUTES into the game, is where you play as Abby for the first time. You run into Joel and Tommy, you act like you are stranded survivors but Abby and her group know exactly who they are and are leading them into a trap. Joel actually saves abbys life and they head off to a secure location on horseback. Here is where the scene starts. Abbys group is talking about Joel and Tommy to which Joel says something along the lines of “you’re talking as if you’ve already heard of us”, to which Abby says “Yeah, we have.” And shoots Joel in the leg with a shotgun. Tommy is knocked unconscious. Abby ask Joel if he remembers who they are, to which Joel pauses and realizes, then says “do whatever you gotta do, just get it over with”. Abby tells her people to put a tourniquet on Joel’s leg while she grabs a golf club and says “you’re not getting off that easy” and hits him. Cut back to Ellie. You arrive at the house and stumble into the room Joel is. You’re tackled to the ground and hit a few times. The group debates on killing you as Abby just stares at you. Ellie pleads for Joel to get up, to which Abby turns back to Joel, stares for a few seconds and you actually see her golf club cave his skull. Showing the death is really the only thing different from the leak minus a few different camera angles. Ellie screams “I’ll fucking kill you” while the group debates on killing her. They decide not to, and Ellie is kicked in the head knocking her out. You are found by Dina, where she wakes Ellie up and says “I’m so sorry”. You’re returned back to home where you wake up to Tommy knocking on the door. You tell him you’re going to find them with or without him. He tells you not to and that they don’t have the men to spare to fight them. Ellie goes to Joel’s grave. Small talk with Dina. Then you are informed Tommy has left on his own and has requested Ellie be held back. The town mayor? Or whatever is Tommy’s wife and tells Ellie to bring her husband home safe. Ellie and Dina leave together.

To answer your question there are some reviewers that have said while it is a 25 hour game, 15 of it is as Ellie and then the other 10 is as Abby. While they apparently can't talk much about the second half of the game. Some have said the detour in the story to play as Abby kills the overall story momentum and isn't as interesting as the original characters.
I too am waiting for more info from user reviews.
