The Thing That I didn't Like in This Game Joel is Treated like a Side Character
He's absolutely not ! He plays a very central part in this game. He is seen so much in flashback scenes and his death is essential to the game.

I just hate the game. Like I get the gameplay can be fun I get the graphics are like Next gen beautiful but in my opinion the good stuff just gets spoiled by the the bad stuff when I look at the good graphics I think of Joel’s death, when I’m killing people in tons of cool ways I think of Joel’s death. This game then forces me to play as his killer right when that 4 years earlier thing started I just gave up I didn’t want to play anymore and that’s not what a game ESPECIALLY a Last of us game should be doing.

Naughty Dog lost a bunch of employees because they, like Rockstar and various other game companies, will work their employees to death in service of a high quality product. By the end they were churning through contract employees going in and out of the studio, and eventually someone had enough and leaked the whole story on their way out. I guess they wanted to hurt revenue, but being TLOU2 it still sold really well.

How is an innocent child getting killed by Ellie worse than what Abby did to Joel in any way shape of form?
It amazes me how some defend this game and use arguments like "it's a realistic game" and such nonsense ... whether the game is realistic or not doesn't excuse this shit called the script. But whatever, someone is also defending the eighth season of game of thrones, so I can't be surprised that there are people here who don't have taste and have no absolute idea what a good script and story looks like.
