    Celsius works great on my St Augustine lawn here on the Space Coast. It used to be if I didn't weed whack my fence line once a week for weeds, in 2 weeks they would literally turn into bushes! As of right now, it's been 6 weeks after applying Celsius and I haven't touched my weed whacker once and not a single weed is growing along the fence line! I'm really amazed by this!
    One tip though. I mix everything in a screw top gallon milk jug. The jug gets filled halfway with water and well shaken and I do everything separately for each product in this order: Celsius, any additional herbicide, then surfactant. Blue dye, if used, gets poured directly into the spray tank. Then top off with the appropriate amount of water for your desired gallonage. When done, just throw the jug away. Just keep track of how many half gallons you go through!

    Just recently did my first application of Image on my Bahia lawn. I also made a cheat sheet for mixing different applications for our other lawn, which is St. Augustine. I wanted to thank you for the recommendation, it seems to be doing the trick and I look forward to lessening the weed pressure on our new lawn.

    Your videos are great. Subscribed. Orlando area here. I just replaced my lawn last week (13,000 sq feet) with ProVista. I was tired of fighting the 5 year loosing battle the previous homeowners had here of Augistine and like 4 other mixed varieties plus 40 percent weeds and all sorts of pest issues. The cocktails of professional weed chemicals worked from time to time but the war was ultimately going to be lost. This time, I'm going to outsource the weed and pest control at least for a year or two. If i need to spot, I'm going to pull out the tactical nukes (glyophosphate).

    I been using a Celsius and halosulfuron-methyl combo on St Augustine for several years now, it's my go to herbicide. It's slow but thorough, depending on the temperature it can take up to three weeks before signs of control appear for certain weeds. I highly recommend it. Celsius 2.4g /1k sqft and halosulfuron-methyl 0.9 g/1k sqft with NIS 0.5 fl oz /1k sqft

  • @Sam-hj8hy
    @Sam-hj8hy Před 5 měsíci +2

    I used Celsius for the first time about a month ago (purchased from the LCN). I ended us using the lower rate. But since my area was not as large, I poured the granules out and made a "guardrail" like as if it were booger sugar, and then cut that in 1/2. Used the 1/2 packet to mix it into 2gal and sprayed. For the the tougher weeds, last week I did a second spot spray with the left over in my tank. So far it has been killing all of the weeds in my yard, minus the fire weed. The fire weed I will need to glove up and pull; glyphosate isn't even a guarantee on fire weed.

    I just took my new yardmastery sprayer for I drive. A couple things that could make it a bit more useful. The screws and nuts that hold the spray gun in place. Have them dimple the plastic or hot glue or just sticky tape the nuts in place. Once they pop out during assembly they are gone.
    Include a purple 110 fan spray tip for those of us that can no longer gallop across the lawn. Same with a red flood jet tip.
    Lastly if you ever remold the body, put a bigger depression for the pickup tube. No matter how much I tip a turn it there is always a cup or so of liquid left behind.
    Putting those retaining nuts on the other side would have made it much easier to get to the screw head.
    Great product.

    Y'all are lucky. I've pretty much given up on my lawn. Did a 100 % cultivation last year. Mixed in compost, raked out all of the debris, planted new grass, pre-emergent, post emergent. weed and feed, weekly irrigation, the whole works. The lawn looked beautiful all season. Come out ready to get at it this spring and the weeds have taken over 100%. I'm not going to be forking out another $10,000, every year, if I have this to look forward to.

      It's strange for weeds to grow over winter in cool season lawns unless you are pretty far south. Where do you live?

    • @Manchester77OT
      @Manchester77OT Před 4 měsíci +1

      Not sure where you are located but winter weeds / weeds in general are pretty bad in much of the Northeast this season. I live on the NY state / NJ border and we had a very mild winter , wasn't super cold for long stretches and really only a handful of snowstorms , most of which not much accumulation. My lawn is still mostly dormant and when i went to apply pre-emergent a week or so ago , already saw some germinating weeds in the lawn. Not too bad but more than usual for this time and my mulch beds are loaded with weeds more than ever coming out of winter. Some of my neighbors' lawns have quite a bit of weeds already. Again not sure where you are located but I have family in NJ , NY and PA and most are dealing with the same due to the mild winter.
      Follow Allyn's tips and advice , do an application using the professional weed control products and it will knock the majority of the weed pressure back tremendously. Sounds like you just need an earlier than usual selective herbicide application. When I use pre-emergent I usually don't have to even spot spray weeds in the lawn until late April / early May but i am going to need to do an earlier one myself as well.
