    Hi Brian 👋
Thanks for sharing your reaction I really enjoyed it.
I think Singularity was a great choice 👌
Great sound on your videos by the way and don't worry I'm using good headphones 👍
I won't suggest the next BTS song as you've got plenty of those already, but after suggesting Dreamcatcher to you on the last video I thought I would give you a bit of info and a bunch of song suggestions for them. 😁
    DREAMCATCHER
So Dreamcatcher is a group of 7 women from South Korea. They don't play instruments but their music mostly has a rock and sometimes metal based sound. They do other genres as well however and their songs can tend to have a blend of genres. For example they do EDM, trap, ballads, pop/rock R&B jazz and funk. They sing, rap and dance. Their music videos have beautiful visuals and vocals, they have a darker or fantasy kind of horror inspired theme which is very unique compared to other South Korean female groups (or male groups).
Im not an expert at labelling genres but here's some song suggestions under genres for you to consider listening or reactioning to. Please take the genre classification lightly as their songs do tend to mix genres and know that the songs under the same genre can sound quite different.
Ill provide links to MV's / special performance clips and some suggested lives for some songs.
These are in no particular order but I have put the their 3 heaviest at the top.
    HEAVY ROCK/METAL:
These 3 songs which are in japanese are their heaviest songs in my opinion.

FYI you won't see the members in this one as it's animation.
Fun fact - Pontus Norgren the guitarist from Hammerfall was one of the composers for the song.
Dont Light my Fire (epic symphonic song) - no MV for this one so I would do a lyric video.
    Endless Night
    MV czcams.com/video/wCALuFy2YVI/video.html
The following 3 all have MV's and are intended as a trilogy in this order - but of course you can watch them in any order and still enjoy. There is a storyline through the 3 songs and MV's - in brief they are about hate speech and bullying (including online through social media). BOCA means mouth in Spanish. So its said the 3 songs represent hear no evil, speak no evil and see no evil.
The songs are all quite different from each other.
Note, one of the members is absent from Boca and Scream - a masked backup dancer represents the member in the Scream MV.

Omg as an army I second this so hard- I don’t specifically stan Dreamcatcher but I personally think you’ll like them a lot based on the songs you said you listen to. I say I don’t stan but honestly a couple of their title tracks have a chokehold on me. Thanks for this list Coomacp! Even though its for Destructive Media, best believe I’ll be referring to this very extensive list!

@@zanetaabekhe8479 Hi 👋 Great 😁 Yeah if the list helps anyone add some new music to their playlist, then that's awesome. Finding new music you enjoy is always a great day! 😊🎵
I've only discovered them in the last couple of months and am still getting to know them and a lot of their songs, but am loving them. I think they are so underrated, their title tracks are amazing but they have even more if people just look past those. They are all beautiful vocalists and dancers and have excellent rappers. Their choreo is amazing and so complex in comparison to other female groups.
Some of their songs I've needed a couple of listens, but then they just click and I'm addicted. I love the ethereal quality to their vocals and the dynamic sound in all their songs, some of them are quite complex melodically.
If you've only heard some of their main singles definetly have a listen to the others I've suggested, honestly their Bsides are excellent and incredibly diverse, they actually do everything and do it so well! Obviously I recommend them all and I don't know your music preference, but as you can see they do quite a few styles and to me everything is still uniquely them and fits with their theme and style even their EDM songs. The B sides from their last mini album Summer Holiday are nice and light and fresh but still Dreamcatcher.
I didn't mention Whistle in the list (which is off their last mini album) its such a bop, so addictive and has an excellent beat, I love that one.
Oh and I also forgot to say in my comment that Can't Get You Out Of My Mind is an all English song, great fun to sing along to. Like I mentioned above I Miss you is super fun and catchy, love Red Sun, Black or White, Wonderland, Jazz Bar and 7th July - all so fun and beautiful. Sleep-walking is a really different fun dance song.
They provide great content for their fans, I mean they have quiet a few Special Clips which are basic MV type videos for some of their B sides and cover songs (there is a playlist on their channel).
The live band that they are performing with in the Special Clip for Mayday is made up of different fans (InSomnias) who have apparently covered their songs before, which I think is so cool.
They also have a choreographed Special Clip with a cover of Seo Taiji and Boys 'Regret of The Times'
      czcams.com/video/GVl6pSn30SM/video.html
I just discovered Shadow the other day and the slow version is just perfection. Piano with clean, strong vocals.👌😌😇
If you like Louder Than Bombs (who doesn't 😉) then give In the Frozen by Dreamcatcher a try. The live band version I shared is beautiful and really shows how good their vocals are and the production on the recording is brilliant. The reason I mentioned Louder Than Bombs is even though they are both very different songs, they are similar (in my opinion), in that they are both atmospheric.
And I recently found an amazing mashup of the 2 songs, obviously created by someone who is an ARMY and an InSomnia. Both the visuals and vocal editing are perfect 👌 - one of the best mash ups I've ever seen/heard. If you like In The Frozen you should check it out. Heres a link czcams.com/video/78ZlKy2sWTY/video.html
If you want to get to know who the members are a nice short video that does that without really spoiling any group songs, is an Unhelpful Guide to Dreamcatcher (2021) by Jiuchuu. It only goes for 15mins.
      Heres the link czcams.com/video/va9N-q7ZN0A/video.html

The lyrics to this song is written by RM, the leader of the group. The more complicated songs usually have explanation videos by fans, including this one (and "Daechwita"). You can look it up and check it out.
Although this is a solo, it's part of a BTS album, "Love Yourself: Tear". In addition to group songs, they often have solo and unit songs in their albums, the unit most often being rappers-only or vocalists-only, but it can be any combination of the members. Other BTS solo songs by V are "Stigma" and "Inner Child".
His solo songs outside BTS are even softer than this, acoustic-type songs that are always soothing, almost lullabies. I guess the opposite of metal, LOL. "Christmas Tree", "Winter Bear", "Snow Flower", "Sweet Night", "Scenery". Except for the first one, a soundtrack for a K-drama, the others are written and composed by him. His soulful, deep voice fits these songs perfectly, enveloping you like a warm hug.

V is often called "The Idol of Idols" by others in the music industry. Clearly he's attractive, an excellent dancer, and has a very soothing deep voice but what really pulls people in is his stage presence. V has an unique was of pulling you in and hold your full attention. And to go a step further, his vocal range is insane. Singularity shows how soothing and even his "comfortable" deep voice is but he can go much deeper and edge into soulful and raspy aswell as reach the higher keys

V (or Kim Taehyung) has an R&B voice and as a person, he is totally out of the box. He is a Korean actor too. He sings Stigma, Inner Child, Winter Bear, Snow Flower, Sweet Night, 4 o'clock, Even if I Die it's you (his drama series Hwarang soundtrack) and Friends. He is an hilarious person too and so sweet with children and animals. And there's an iconic scene where he asks for free hugs to the BTS members and Staff with a hand written paper. He was nominated as the most handsone man of 2021 from some magazines and digital media channels. He broke Instagram records too with his new account. 💜

BTS usually put their albums out in series that cover a concept or theme. this song is from their love yourself series which is three albums long and the albums tell an overall story. the first album is called Her and it is about a love or relationship that seems like it is destined to be. his song singularity is the first song in the second album TEAR which is where we begin to realize that the person in this perfect relationship is starting to realize that they have been changing who they are to make the other person happy mainly because the person changing thinks, they themselves are not good enough for the other person. the last album is Answer and it is where the person realizes that they are in an unhealthy relationship with this person because they don't have a healthy relationship with themselves and that they must learn to love themselves before they can truly love and be loved in a healthy relationship. most of their album series tell stories if you listen to them in order.

The song is about loving yourself. In the video there are some masks. Each mask represents a part of him. In the same video, V gives every mask a flower, meaning that he begins to accept each and every side of him. The last scene: V, the mask, tear and the earring that says: LOVED. I had a hard time understanding the lyrics when I first listened to this song. But my interpretation of it is it’s about losing yourself or putting a mask on in order to keep the person you love happy. In the beginning of the song he says there’s “a sound of something breaking” which I think is the ice he mentions throughout the song. And “ice” meaning their relationship. Near the end he said spring will come and melt the ice. So no matter how much you change yourself, the relationship will ultimately end because you’re not being true to yourself.

If you listen to the solo songs from the trilogy of each member in order, you’ll realize it tells a love story of falling in love, being in love, falling out of love and then finally learning to love yourself(which is the title of the trilogy). But any kind of seperation can only be a temporary one (the ice melts/breaks; the seperation becomes painfull as the shadow is part of us). He already knows what is on the other side but he also knows that it will be painfull when it breaks free and can't ignore it anymore - he is in denial. The (black) tears are already breaking through the mask/the (false) persona/the breaking ice.
The singer/protagonist of the story that is told in the 3 Albums asks "did I win you or did I loose myself" (I may have misstructered that but that is still the gist). And the answer is implied to be is "both". A relationship with a loved one/yourself/friend/family can only stand if we are true to ourself. But this relationship was built on a lie and it can not be sustained: It hurts too much. The pain will sooner or later be bigger than the love and tear the relationship apart (which happens in "Fake Love" where we go from "I don't know" to "I do know why").
      💜

Another great reaction! V is an exceptional singer, he can do every vocal range. I personally love his deep toned voice the best but his high note in Stigma (the live version) makes my hair stand on end, absolutely stunning. RM wrote this song after having dental surgery. I heard he wrote much of it in minutes while still under the effects of the anesthesia and he knew V was the perfect choice to sing it knowing his deep, soulful voice would fit perfectly with that hard hitting bass.
If you continue diving into BTS, & I hope you do, please keep in mind that these men are Korean. They do not have the same cultural norms as people in the west. As an American I know we can sometimes be judgmental and come off as arrogant even if we don’t realize it. Koreans and especially Korean Idols are known for their aesthetics. They use their looks, clothing, their ever changing hairstyles & hair color, jewelry, accessories and yes even makeup to convey the concept/theme of their album, songs & performances & to fully immerse their audience. What artist doesn’t wear makeup & jewelry when performing or doing photo shoots?! But for some reason when Americans & other western cultures see Korean male idols in makeup they are shocked & automatically make assumptions. Koreans, both men & women are also very affectionate to one another, it’s their norm. BTS members formed a brotherhood. They essentially grew up together since all were so young when they became trainees. They lived together in a dorm since 2010 & have endured many hardships together. They love one another as family & those not familiar with both their culture & their history, tend to make unwarranted assumptions when they see them interact. BTS always convey love & positivity…although their songs dissing the haters & those whom have hurt them can really pack a punch LOL, & their work ethic is insane! We could all learn from them & their culture and I believe the world would be a much better place! Continue to remain open minded & you’ll learn how talented, funny, loving, genuine, generous, thoughtful, kind and humble they all are and why they are so loved by their fans.
And just to add an FYI, I’m a 30 year old mother of 2. ARMYs are very diverse in age demographics, cultures & musical taste. My husband is a metal head as well but considers himself an ARMY now after listening to RM & Suga’s mixed tapes. He especially loves “Do You” & “Joke” by RM & “Interlude:Shadow” by Suga/Agust D (which is Suga spelled backwards with an added D T for Daegu town, his hometown in Korea) however he also heard “Truth Untold” & “House of Cards” by the vocal line and loved them even though they are as far from metal as you can get. Truth Untold has a fictional, sad almost fairytale like back story that I personally love. Although I’m not a huge fan of rap, I absolutely love “D’Daeng”, Ugh” & “Outro:Tear” by the rap line, all 3 have a deep, true meaning behind them and genius word play! So we are recommending all of those songs (live versions & MV’s are best to get the full effect vs lyric videos). So sorry for being so wordy. LOL

You started by pointing out that you had a preconceived idea and that you even avoided any presentation of BTS, realizing that V was playing (without knowing him you would not know it and you thought that he was doing his best to dance hahaha) was a sign that you were open to see that offered the group and very attentive to details. With BTS that's important.

BTS is so diverse, and one of the reasons might be based on the members' personality and preference as individual. They are seven colors, laid perfectly the way a rainbow is.
    V's voice is very 'soulful'.
Jimin's is a shrill, uniquely pretty
    Jin's is fragile and touching
Jungkook's is versatile, breathy and colorful
    J-Hope's is soothing
RM and SUGA don't really sing but they definitely spit bars.
Lyrics, ouch, BTS write naaasty lyrics. I cry over them lyrics. Got headache because of it. My soul is saved while holding on to them.

V is also my bias, i wanted to comment about your reaction to V's "dancing" but decided not too after reading those comments. 🤣 And choosing to react to Singularity just more than made up for it. And thankyou for the positive and honest to goodness reaction to singularity. And i believe you make time and effort to read and react to the comments of your subs and they already told you abt his dancing skills and his soothing low notes and how wide his vocal range is because he can also hit high notes that you would never imagine he could after hearing his amazing baritone voice. There's one thing abt V though that has not been mentioned yet, or i might have missed reading it in the comments section... V definitely moves with swag, can dive low notes because of his deep voice, at the same time hit high notes too..... To add to that, V can growl too... He is one of, if not the only member who does the growl part if needed in a certain song... Thats why we call him the "tiger" of BTS..... When you see V, you dont expect him to be that member of a group who can growl..... And that's V, his duality is insane and mindblowing.... And he owns the most viewed fancam with over 120M+ views. He is named as the "Idol of the idols" for a reason! He is perfect all-rounder. He is really into jazz music and you should check out stigma, snow flower, and most recent song Christmas tree!
All the members have their unique talents and charms and that's why BTS is so perfect!

Their sound production quality is almost unparalleled they mix and engineer songs to maximize the audio pleasure. Their ability to create “sound scapes” is one thing I’ve really appreciated and isn’t new for them back to early songs like Tomorrow (a group song written and prod by Suga). The lyrics of this are really poetic (typical RM who wrote this after he’d finished some dental surgery) and this is the song that kicks off the theme for Love Yourself Tear. I’d suggest Fake Love next a group song that is one of their biggest very intense song and video the captions on the MV are correct). All their album are concept albums so they have a flow from song to song and central themes here it’s love gone badly and losing your self toxic Wise in a relationship. The MVs are truly like artwork often, with each scene being like a still painting. The CEO of bighit has his degree in Aesthetics. That means the aesthetics and feelings of their work is very arts based.

BTS always show many sides of themselves. If you ever decide to watch one concert, from the beginning to the end, you will see so many different sides of them. They would:
    - start with powerful, opening song end performance,
    - go in a very professional way through the main theme of the concert, basically telling a full story on stage, connecting amazingly with the audience (and it will be mixed with some VCR clips that help the narrative)
    - then they will do some song medley that will blow the roof of the stadium
    - then they will play more fun and carefree songs to hype the audience
    - only to give us some amazing ment speech at the end of the event
    - and then wrap it with an ending song that will move fans to the tears.
Seriously, their albums and concerts are so well planned and organized you will be blown out by the quality of their work and how strongly they can move the audience.
Oh it would be so much fun if you decide to watch one whole concert from the beginning to the end divided into 5-6 videos...

it's funny that your first impression of V is his goofy side, for me, i was having a hard time to accept that he's goofy cause most of the time, especially in interviews, he'll always have this poker face...and I got into BTS at the time when V was feeling burnt out, i didn't know at that time so i get shock whenever he does something silly...but really, I'm glad he's happy now...

Don't shy away from BTS just because you come from another place. They have a huge song catalogue and they're quite versatile. The great thing with BTS is that they integrate singing, choreography, creative music videos, story telling, live shows, cinematography to their creative process. It's always best to watch a music video or a live show of the song then just listen the a color coded song without visual because it's a complete package. It's visual and auditory experience combine. May I suggest "ON kinetic manifesto come prima" music video.💜

    @Djin7Djin Před 2 lety +1

Dropping in to say I'm a metalhead, too (old school - born in the 60's, saw Randy Rhoads live - old) but I think of BTS as metal af. In that way where their music and message is misunderstood at best, and maligned at worst, and how they have been 'othered' and disrepected in the industry (radio, awards, media, etc) and they (& their global fans) just still keep fighting. This is why I think they resonated with me, originally. Metal is STILL - after 50 years - treated like a plague in the industry, radio, rock hall, playlists, etc. Metalheads are a global tribe, and only metalheads truly understand other metalheads. So it is with ARMY, once you go down in the rabbit hole, you come out forever changed.

Choreographed actual group performance would be Mic Drop, on Kinetic Manifesto, Black Swan… those 3 will blow your mind and they are all a bit of different genre showing their versatility. This would be all of BTS performing as a group.
    Rm- Joke
    Suga- Agus D
    J- Hope- Boy Meets Evil
    Jungkook- Euphoria
    V- Stigma
    Jimin- Lie
    Jin- Yours
Vocal Line- House of Cards, Truth Untold
    Rap Line- Outro Tear, Ddaeng
And yes react to live performance after watching the MV.
    Mama
Also I subscribed and am enjoying your reactions and open mindedness
I personally love lyric breakdowns and you will be blown away by their lyrics especially if you watch dkdktv explanations explained by a Korean.
RM is the leader of the group IQ 148 a literal genius, rapper, poet, producer and he is the leader and spokesman for the group. Only one fluent in English. However the last few years the others are getting better.
Lyrics are soo Deep and genius it can’t be hyped.

If you like to hear the deep ones you can start whit "boy in luv". This song is one that they made in their start, in a personal way i really like this song, the beat of it it's just incredible.
And just for last, belive me when i tell you that they have so much to show you.

Great reason to choose this one, lmao. If you want something more up your alley, Lies Behind Your Eyes did a fantastic metal/post-hardcore cover of Fake Love. There's a music video. There's also a short clip of BTS reacting to it, they loved it.
But definitely listen to the original Fake Love first. 🤘

I’m glad you loved Singularity! The whole album (love yourself: tear) that it’s apart of is definitely worth checking out because it has one of the widest ranges of genres. They’ve done performances for some of the songs on that album, I would recommend watching those if you’re up for it, there is a reason they’re known for performance ability.
A suggestion for your videos if you’re going to do more BTS! Feel free to read translations before you even react to the video it can be difficult to watch the videos, read lyrics, and comprehend both in the same breath. If you’re up for it lyric breakdowns would be awesome!
Side note if you’re planning on doing outro wings anytime soon, please make sure to check out a stadium performance of it! It’s 100% made for the stadium and you’ll see why. Sorry for the long comment 😅

This song is from their series called love yourself. They released 3 albums in love yourself series which lead them to do a love yourself campaign with UNICEF and they invited 3 yrs in a row to give a speech in UN ( u can check out their UN speeches in ur free time or can do a reaction ). So first album called 'love yourself her' which talk abt destiny like happy side of love. And next album is called 'love yourself tear' where singularity is the intro for this album which they talking abt dark side of love which can be anything like break up etc. And the final album in this series is called 'love yourself answer' which is like a final answer to this that is love yourself then only u can love others. To convey this message clearly they made this series to explain in a storytelling way. BTS always make this type of series with strong messages. And V like jazz music a lot so most of his songs have jazzy vibe.

Or if you'd want to see their solo works, I'd love to see you react to Jimin's Filter Live or Jhope's Chicken Noodle Soup MV. Although I like his "Outro: Ego" song more.

I like how you cast aside your preconceived notions of BTS because you listened to a song of with one of the memebers that you enjoyed and then decided to delve into them as a group after liking his solo work. It speaks volumes about your willingness to learn and your open-mindedness! So thank you for that!
BTS is known for not sticking to one genre and always experimenting with their sound. While many of their songs retain certain "pop" sounds, they really like to go to various extremes with their music. They keep surprising us with their evolution all the time and always break stereotypes! This is why Suga says "You'll like BTS' music if you listen without prejudice."
Singularity is one of my ultimate favourite songs from BTS. Something interesting about the lyrics is that they can be read as a conversation between Narcissus and Echo from Roman Mythology and Ovid's "Metamorphosis"! I'm not sure if it is a coincidence or not but with RM writing these lyrics I wouldn't be surprised if it was intentional.
