      I had great expectations about 757, finally I did a trip report of my trip on the flying pencil, the sound of RB211 are definitely the best, really recommend you to look foward the 757. Sadly main of the US airlines, are cutting them of from national flights.

    For most airline procedures, A/T is armed while still on the ground and actually engaged at T/O. And the Engines are very rarely run at 100% (usually if the aircraft is taking off heavy). In most instances, pilots try to reduce the power of the engines as much as they can while still being sure that they can takeoff safely. This reduces stress on the engines (which are extremely expensive), saves fuel (also expensive), and gives a smoother ride for passengers on board.

    What causes the sound on 2:15 when put to clb thrust, and the engine makes like a fast aceleration and reduction? I heard that sound not always, but a lot of times on the RB211.

  • @GTboy96
    @GTboy96 Před 12 lety

    At take off they set the throttle to 50% for a few seconds to let the engines stabalize, then the set it to 100%. They also have to stay below 250 knots below 10,000ft. That's why the pilots kept increasing and decreasing the throttle

  • @jamesalarkin1795
    @jamesalarkin1795 Před 7 lety

    speed limit is usually 250 its below 10,000feet these hot rods climb like rockets they apparently reached 10,000 quicker than anticipated throttled back to matin speed and altitude then cleared to climb note seatbelt chime +- 10,000 ft

    Quiz - why does power up happen in two phases : 1:03 to 1:10 , and then 1:12 onwards.

    • @DoubleGauss
      @DoubleGauss Před 6 lety

      Actually three. 1:12 -1:17 and then from 1:17 to max power. Why not just go from 0 to Max in one shot.

    • @jacobjahr9573
      @jacobjahr9573 Před 5 lety +1

      Every engine is a little different in terms of power output, efficiency, and the time it takes to spool up and generate useful thrust, particularly from idle (due to age, component wear and tear, tuning, ambient conditions). The initial push up is to allow the engines to come up to speed and stabilize, as well as preventing a potentially dangerous asymmetrical thrust condition if they dont come up at the same rate. There is an inherent delay in all jet engines when advancing the power. Once they've stabilized around the 40% N1 mark (low pressure turbine and fan speed), the N2 (high pressure turbine or power generating section) is generating sufficient, stabilized power to drive the fan and compressor, producing useful thrust. From this point, pending a catastrophic failure, further advancement of power is uniform and takeoff rated thrust TRT can be set.

      +Littlun17 The pilot leveled off briefly before continuing the climb!

    • @akoniloki
      @akoniloki Před 8 lety

      well i think the real reason might have been noise restrictions. Many cities have noise restrictions for airplanes, which have to reduce throttle immediately after takeoff, as long as they don't attain some altitude, or fly out of the city- limits, whichever first.

    • @GabrielMoraitakis
      @GabrielMoraitakis Před 7 lety +1

      I think it's due to the FADEC (full authority digital engine control) system, which is connected with the aircraft's autopilot and gives to the engines. the exact throttle, that the autopilot needs....

    • @TipMAXth
      @TipMAXth Před 7 lety
