    We're thrilled that you're a fan of the Sensel-powered haptic touchpad in the SL7! 🥰 And really nice job explaining the benefits of haptic touchpads over the old-school diving board type touchpads. 🙌

    Excellent video. Was wondering if this would be a good choice for engineering students considering that it has an ARM chip?

    Another thing which is important to mention is that it is very easy to upgrade the ssd. So if 16gb ram are enough for you (which for the most people its the case) you can just buy the base model which i think is well priced considering the high quality and just upgrade the ssd later with how much you need. I think this was a very consumer friendly decision from microsoft and i like it alot.

      Most people, maybe 90%+, would not upgrade their SSD themselves, so it is a niche feature for techie consumers who want the hassle of swapping out SSDs. I use an external drive for extra storage, which means I can use the external drive on various devices and is much more useful.

    I bought the Macbook Pro 14 M3 Pro that I have but I did get a Surface Laptop 7 13.8 and I like it so far. I have always preferred Windows over MacOS but Mac's just last longer with the M Series chips over intel or AMD chips ( AMD was tolerable ) So far I like the battery life but I haven't put it though it's paces.

    The slightly elevated digitizer surface seems like it could be an issue long term with respect to durability. Have you noticed any issue (beyond the sharp edge?)

    For general office work, data analysis work, and photography it is at it's best.
    The problems come when you need to print things up on old printers (bad drivers), gaming, and video editing. It just isn't built for those things yet or not at all. At least not at an acceptable level.

    I’m trying to decide which one to get. I am a freshman in college and going into Electrical Engineering. I’ve always been a big apple fan and I am also bring a windows desktop to my dorm to run software that can’t be run on mac but I really can’t decide which I want

      well if you need cross accessibility and the ability to do that software on the go… you should go for the laptop, as long as you make sure that it has a native arm version or can be emulated from x86, which basically means that it will work…

    • @sckappy4461

      Honestly, get a windows. The setting of Engineering is mainly windows and sure you can run extra software to run those apps you need but you have to take in account in the OS. Windows is just standard in business.

    • @RZ302
      @RZ302 Před 15 dny +1

      They can both game, but Windows runs way more games. The arm chip just causes most games to run worse than they could.

    • @prk3437
      @prk3437 Před 14 dny

      Depends on software compatibility. A lot of academic software's I use, don't run on Mac. On ARM, at least they would run with emulation. I am sure they will optimize for ARM, as it catches up.
