you missed something, windows 11 still has Cortana which sucks but works.
its discontinued and doesnt work@@YodaComedy
@@cookies5129 It works, but it is discontinued
What about Windows 10 vs MacOS, it has many of the missing features in Windows 11.
Windows actually has that cool window snapping feature patented so Apple can't really implement it in that way. However There Are many third-Party apps like Rectangle and Magnet which includes window snapping and much more customization options
11:47 Moving the taskbar to the sides and top was a thing before Windows 11, for some reason they removed it.
True! I was quite surprised when I found out…
microsoft actually intentionally patched taskbar movement using the registry editor in 22H2, so it’s probably not happening
if its registry you could just easyli edit it to bring back that feature
@@43021
@@43021 no clue why they keep removing the amount of stuff you can do with windows
Things like document preview can be done on Windows too, but it does require an app, being either the MS Power Toys or a third party one. You can choose which functionality you want to enable and can define most shortcuts to functions in PowerToys freely. PowerToys can also do many other things, like reconfiguring your keyboard's key layout; just be careful if you move keys around, as you can end up losing access to some key(s) on your keyboard. Trying to swap two keys and forgetting to redefine both of them is not good...
Woah I went to the comments to see peoples opinion on both OS features.
But all I see is praise for the maker of this vid. You dont only make great vids, you got yourself great viewers too!
Yep, 100% true, I'm genuinely positively overwhelmed and incredibly thankful for all these kind comments! Motivates me to keep producing videos! Thanks!
But it makes one wondering what is the point of making really well edited videos if no one seems to care about their content? 😉
@@AlexandruBurda How is it possible that 90% of the comments talk about the editing and montage but not about the video itself? 🤔 All his other videos have the same comment section...
having the clothes match the corresponding CEOs was really cool
Glad you liked the idea :)
Every single Linux user watching this video:
i love windows cus it's 1 step closer to installing Linux (i don't have to jailbreak)
I was laughing the entire time 😂
Just started this video and it's already funny how he says windows file Explorer is overpowered. Bro has never used dolphin I bet.
@@emileross well mac is closer to linux as they are both somewhat unix like while windows is completelly different beast
@@netkv not even close. "Technically Unix" is all you'll ever get. MacOS as close to Linux as android is. But the way it's used makes it very different from Linux. Windows will be closer in terms of usability or workflow when it comes to Linux
This channel is so underrated. The editing is incredible. It deserves more recognition and subscribers. 😟
Frrrr. Like the concepts of the video are simple, but if you need to change, these simple info is game changing
Thanks for the high praise guys 😊 Made my day!
Get to advertising/promoting him! 😂

The change of clothes is a nice touch. Great video!
Thank you for the great feedback!
Yes. I noticed the Steve Jobs black.
No bias, no bs, straight on point. You deserve more views and followers my man. Keep up with the content!
Thank you man, that's super motivating!
He is very biased, He mentions that you can change settings to get more customization out of macos by default, but doesn't mention the same thing for windows.
@@MegaLokoposame with the time machine when windows also has recovery
@@MegaLokopo Hey, but I did the same for some Windows features - like the clipboard history, color themes, etc. which are also not settings enabled by default, and macOS completely lacks. I tried to make it as unbiased as possible, but it's hard to remember and think of every possible feature/customization option on both systems. There's definitely room for improvement and I missed some essential features (and luckily people mentioned them in the comments!), but I really tried to make it as unbiased as possible. Thank you for watching!

Cortana won't work anymore because Windows now has new AI assistant "Windows Copilot"
Cortana is gone mate
Cortana was in windows 10. It doesn't even work anymore in 10 because it's gone

Yep. And for Spotlight, there's PowerToys Search
ya it is already in the windows by preview
alt+p also works
It's called preview, and you can preview most of yhe files, compy texts in word, xls, ppt, pds without opening it.

Danke dir, Johannes! I appreciate the great and helpful feedback :)
Awesome editing as usual and thanks for your honesty.
Thank you for watching and the great feedback! :)
I got my first mac a couple of days ago and your videos made navigating around the os a whole lot easier!
Even though he does not like it, I highly suggest using your applications in full-screen mode. Since I have switched to macOS, I have gone down from three to only one monitor, which works very very well for me. Now, I can simply switch between applications when they are in full-screen just like I would on my iPad or iPhone. I stay a lot more focused too as I'm not getting distracted by any apps I'm currently not working with. Furthermore, when you need to work with two applications at the same time, just put them into full-screen split view or if it needs to go fast, leave them on your desktop as a window. For small tasks, I only use windows, for example quickly looking through the Finder or checking a password in 1Password, but Safari is always in full screen, just like my code editor and applications that I'm working on more than just a few minutes. It works very well for me, so, it might work for you too
@@dnvylCtrl windows d
Ctrl windows right arrow
Ctrl windows left arrow
Ctrl windows f4
@@SOTP. Yes, I know you can use multiple desktops on Windows, but these are no replacements for fullscreen applications. Plus, it's not the intended way on Windows. This becomes clear when you compare both systems. On macOS, the maximize button will put a window into fullscreen mode and therefore open it in a new space (virtual desktop but not really a virtual desktop). You can also toggle the fullscreen mode of any application by clicking Ctrl + Cmd + F or Fn + F. Switching between them becomes also very easy with the trackpad. This is not the case on Windows. On Windows, maximizing a window will maximize it on the same desktop, so you would need to manually move it to another virtual desktop to have the same effect. Windows just added virtual desktops as a feature to organize windows for certain situations, for example, to have one desktop for work and one for personal stuff. You can do this on macOS as well, but mostly you use spaces (virtual desktops) for fullscreen or split-screen applications and that's where macOS excels compared to Windows. That's also the reason why I switched from three to only one monitor. Because spaces are designed to be used on a single monitor. Working with a MacBook without any external monitors works so great because of this. Windows accepts more use cases, but macOS is far better for laptops

Edit:can you do another video on windows vs ubuntu(linux)
Much appreciated! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll add it to my video ideas note!
Linux can do all this, some things even better, but there are so many different distributions and tools, it would be unfair to choose just one to compare
@@kaktus9414 more likely to compare different Desktop Environments as actual Distros. But yeah, it would be quite interesting to see them in comparison against Mac or Windows.
No, he shouldn't do Ubuntu. It shouldn't be advertised. Would be better with something like mint
Ubuntu is not a good example of how good Linux can be. The workflow of something like arch with KDE plasma is what we should be advertising as Linux users lol

Great comparison video. One of the most honest videos without any bias toward any operating system. Though you missed one crucial feature that Windows has forever but Mac lacks. Previews of app windows and quick controls on Dock and Task bar. In Windows I can preview even multiple app windows and quickly play pause music for example directly from the taskbar without opening the app. Super handy and useful. Apple being stubborn even removed the media control from taskbar feature from the new Apple Music app on Windows to give users a Mac like old school vibe. Also missed the useful app specific volume control. I can be in a Zoom or Teams meeting and keep that volume to 10 and open a movie on Netflix and have it at 60 LOL
Man, you're 100% right. totally forgot to mention this - probably one of the most important multitasking features Windows offers. So thank you for filling the gap - and for the great feedback!
The face cam being played on the current OS is genius!!!
Thank you 🙏
I have been looking for this type of video for a while now. most people focus on the new features and stuff but rarely the basic things that matter most. Nice video you deserve 1M❤

2:00 But windows does have that, you just gotta press ALT+P
sure.. but isnt it just only previewing inside the file explorer not a seperated window, and you still can't do much there.
Actually, I’ve seen a bunch of videos, which compare these systems, but yours is absolutely amazing! Thanks for the video
The editing and planning that must’ve gone into this video…🔥🔥🔥👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
On windows, you can use multiple desktops, show some app only on one desktop or on all at the time, and swithc between using Ctrl+Win+Arrows
(Mey be usefull for somebody)
Thanks for mentioning it! Super useful!
Something to consider, window snapping feature, is actually patented by Microsoft Inc., Cannonical and some Linux distributions are continuously licensing the feature to be able to use it. Apple just doesn t care to license it.
Interesting! Thanks for mentioning it!
How can such a trivial software feature be patented?
@@jblbasstester6198because it is useful, and was just implemented on Aero Snap during Vista development. It was something simple, but very useful, so they patented. No other OS at the time, had the feature, neither XP or Linux. They can patent anything they want. Patent No. 9,423,923,
9,423,938, and 9,423,954 by MS was filled many years ago.
@@jblbasstester6198it’s the same as live saving medication that can be patented and to be honest you can live with non snapping windows but not without your medication.

I love editing, how you present information and just being honest. I'm gonna subscribe ☺
The editing of this video is on a whole other level. Great job
Great video. The good thing about Desktop OSes is as you said the ability to bring many features from the competition. On Windows for example, Powertoys from Microsoft adds similar features like Spotlight Search (which is way better than the built in one), some new options for pictures in the right click menu in explorer and Quicklook.
Thanks for mentioning it, that's good to know!
Don't forget about the new file preview feature in powertoys, just like with MacOS!
Cortana: Am I a joke to you?
cortana was deprecated
The video editing and just the way you explain things with all those amazing animations , it was just Crazy Amazing!!
Most underrated channel I’ve seen, you deserve a sub
You should do the same but for Linux! Go with Gnome Desktops as it is the most different to what most people are used to!
Imho Gnome Shell is the best of both worlds, especially when it comes to Nautilus as the File Manager; and when Gnome Shell would still support the Global Menu Bar it could be easily be mistaken for macOS.
So like, Zorin OS, Pop!_OS, and elementaryOS?
or does elementary use Pantheon...
Thank you for this video! Something that struck me recently.. have you considered reviewing the differences between ipados and macos? I know it seems goofy but there's a lot of cross inspiration and hidden key commands. It feels a little bit like if they could make an operating system now versus what they knew back then.
Hey, thank you again! Always happy to see you in the comments. And I appreciate the suggestions, that's an interesting idea I haven't really thought about yet. It's already in my Notes app - sounds like it could be a great video :)
Love your content. Good amount of effort put in the visuals and making it beautiful. Keep the good work
Thank you :) Super motivating!
Beoo. It's a really amazing video, I congratulate you for the great work behind it, once again you did it 💪❤️
The editing on this video is out of this world
Much appreciated!
great video! i think if apple improved the dock and the closing system, and maybe they allowed it to run on other branded machines MacOS would probably be the modt popular/most loved os.
Good point! It's crazy that it has so little marketshare... Thanks for watching, Cassius!
Licensing MacOS to other manufacturers like HP or Dell would ultimately ruin its reputation. Yeah, 256GB of storage on the baseline MacBooks today is a joke - but it is incredibly fast storage, exactly enabling the File Preview and Spotlight Search functions to perform so effortlessly fast.
MacOS experience is polished precisely because it is curated; and if it isn't curated by Apple themselves anymore, then the quality would drop tremendously. Just look at how many laptops manufacturers like Asus, Acer and Lenovo churn out every year... I reckon that many models per year just create gargantuan amounts of e-waste nobody is talking about.
OMG, congrats for that editing. It's brilliant and creative!!!
I've been using mac for ages and I learned a surprising amount from this video...
1:10 they’re often incorrect. I can transfer 0 bytes and see a transfer speed, I can cancel a transfer entirely and it still tells me how fast it isn’t going.
It shows that at what speed that was traveling at.
Why didn’t you mention when you do screen recording (video) on a Mac, that you do not get any sound at all and you have to do ridiculous hacks to get the sound to work?
Slightly important 🙄
Good point. It's hard to include every single feature, so comments like yours help fill the gap. Thanks!
Your editing is on the next level mate, super impressive and engaging to look at! 🔥
Thanks a ton! 😊
This is the most unbiased comparison ive ever seen, great work!
Great animations and production!
The green screen / keying could use a little refinement in this one in the edges..
On the subject matter, two topics that could have been mentioned is deleting files with cmd+backspace vs just delete key which is way easier and of course pinning (any) app on top of others which is not available on macOS, plus the fact of windows and app sub windows for dialogue settings etc hiding beneath others and not able to find them especially in multi monitor setups as cmd+tab does not bring them in front..
Keep up the great work!
I appreciate the great and helpful feedback! The "greenscreening" is actually AI rotoscoping, and blurring the background - but you're 100% right, I wasn't really happy how this one turned out either.
And thanks for mentioning those features - although I'm researching days before even writing the scripts for my videos, there's always something I forget - so comments like yours really help fill the gap! I'll catch you in the next video!
After waching this and contemplating my life chouses i chose to use linux.
Great Video to be honest! First time watching you and man is the editing great, I wonder how long it takes!
Thank you a lot! It took me around 40-50 hours to edit the video :) But I spend just as much time, if not more scripting and planning the video...
Yay! Very useful video. It was good to see the differences side by side.
Thank you, glad you liked the side-by-side comparison!
Linux: hold my beer
Nobody cares Linux for desktop 🙄

Can't do anything expect laughing anyway
Super funny... Until you need to do, like, anything other than fap to waifus.😂😂😂
Laugh at what? That you don’t have no support for games? Or that drivers suck ass on Linux? Or that you need a f*king degree to set it up? Linux suck’s and thats the truth.
Linux is not developed for user friendly.
But linux can do what windows and mac does with several extra preparation. So... Yeah. I already sound like a nerd 🤓
