  • We have been excited about this one for a while. The Fujifilm X-T30 is finally here and it's everything we expected it to be. The Fujifilm X-T30 borrows the best elements of the Fujifilm X-T3, slams it into something half the size and at a very attractive price point. Andrew took this one out to the streets of Sydney to give it a whirl.

      X-T3 for sure, best video camera in its price range, much more value then GH5 or GH5s.. FHD 120 fps with 200 MB/s .. 4K 60 fps with 400 MB/s but you need a fast card

      @@theaahikt I'll be looking to get Fujifilm XF 35mm f/1.4 as well as Fujifilm XF18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR, but thats about mid year, and for X-T3, mainly concentrating for video, as a personal choice.. Others may have a better idea that already have one. i did hear that all Fujifilm lenses are very good.

    You don't have to use the Q menu for the ISO; pushing the front dial switches between Aperture and ISO (I believe this is the default setup, if not it's easily configurable). I personally also disable the top SS wheel by setting it to 'T', so front and rear dials are all you need to control A, S and ISO, and act like most DSLR cameras with two dials.
    Another option is assigning the Q button or any Fn button to ISO, in which case you get a real-time preview of the ISO while you rotate the dial.

    Yes I have recently purchased at xt30. It has put fun back into my photography. I also own Nikon D850and D500 with lots of glass, excellent cameras but nothing like walking around the city with this little camera with out a care in the world! O yes liked the video!

  • @marekmusil6757

    Easy to use iso on a front roller. I do not miss a top dial for it...

  • @fellowcitizen
    @fellowcitizen Před 5 lety +8

    Pretty sure that the front/rear command dials can be set directly for ISO (i.e. no menu diving).
    The AF is better than the X-T3; at least until the X-T3 receives f/w.
    The video bit rates and durations are lower than the X-T3 due to the tight chassis, and I'm not sure if all the high end video options are available. (It does have 10-bit HDMI output, though, which is unique for the price-point.)
    The X-T3 has a battery grip option.

    Very good camera but I went for the X-T2 since the prices droped a lot (paid 610euro for used body in semi new conditions) which has pretty much the same photo quality but a better grip and WR.
    Imo if you don't care about video, go fro XT2 it's and amazing value for money atm.

    Can't beat X-T3, so much more to it, worth the extra $$$, latest firmware upgrade stopped 4GB limit for video, now its constant..

    • @BranRistic
      @BranRistic Před 5 lety

      @Seiishu I had a quick look, and 4GB cap only works if your SD card is bigger then 32GB, anything smaller it splits the recording in 4GB files, I can not find info on time period of a recording, however, I always thought due to complexity of compression v data write v body size, is why there is a time limit, which 4GB file eliminated in a simple way (stop files getting corrupted), if I was to guess I would say 30 minute time limit, and, really I am fine with that, if yore doing movie/video production, very rarely you would exceed that limit.

    • @MrSamoDude
      @MrSamoDude Před 5 lety

      X-T3 vs X-T30 depends on what you value most, in the end I opted for the 30. Substantial £500 difference here in the UK with the 18-55 kit lens. X-T3 is bigger so slightly easier to hold but not as portable, has a weather sealed magnesium body, dual card slots, 60fps 4K 400mbps, and a few extra buttons/dials. X-T30 is more compact, notably lighter, built in flash, and features the auto mode with scene detection. If the X-T3 has the flash and auto modes I’d have been very tempted, but for £500 I can also get myself a decent prime lens to compliment the set.

    Great video! How big of a deal is the fact that it isn't weather sealed. Because I live in the Netherlands and the weather isn't ideal most of the time(lotta rain). I wanted to buy the X-T3 but when the X-T30 came it changed my mind. Now im doubting, i dont want my camera to die on me when its gets a little bit wet.. ( btw im just starting as a photographer ). I’d say yes it definitely is you can use it in auto mode or take it a slow and eventually use more of its features. It has the same quality as the xt3 which is considered more of a pro camera. Only thing I’d say is honestly you can take some pretty good pics with most fuji cameras and cameras in general now a days what makes a big difference is the lens invest in some good ones.

    Went to the Fujifilm store with cash to buy the Fujifilm xt30 but returned without it
    Why?
    1) The electronic viewfinder is BAD...blurry and grainy.
    2) There is lot of lag if you move the camera viewing through the EVF
    3) Its too small for even medium sized ladies hands
    4) You are bound to click on the buttons on the back accidentally.
    5) The diopter correction dial is too small to use
    6) It was a total disappointment for me
    I checked Sony A6400 and it was leaps and bound ahead of Fujifilm XT30, it will certainly be a better buy!
