Me too. I tried to have a chai, an old favorite at Barnes and Noble yesterday, and it tasted too sweet and the spices too heavy so I didn't finish it. My tastes have changed. I found out sugar is not a character defect, but an addiction. I always thought I was hopeless.

Trust me once u lose your cravings you stop eating added sugar altogether. I was a terrible sugar addict. I would eat pizza, pasta, cheesecake, cake, brownies, Mars bars all in one meal. I was never overweight but I did reach the upper limit. then one day coz of my pcos I decided that was it. that I was going to go cold turkey. for the first few weeks I did fall off the wagon and now at times if it's like a bday party I do eat cake not to offend the bday party ppl but normally I don't eat added sugar. even if I cheat on a day I only eat like a bite and then I feel terrible after it. coz sugar now tastes bitter to me. I regained my other tastebuds. and now I feel I have more energy and don't need to eat as much or want to sleep after every meal. it works guys. keep holding on. having sugar once a month is ok on special occasions coz that's life. but rest of the month eat healthy and u will see the difference. this is coming from a ex sugar addict.

I gave up refined sugar for Lent. The spiritual component really helped me mentally through this. Over 40 days wasn't as bad as I expected. I was able to sit in front of brownies, pass the dessert table, everything. I fell in love with eating fruit. It's so delicious, filling and satisfying. I learned a lot about my relationship to sugar. How, when and why I consume it. i simply told myself, "that's not good for me. I don't need it." That worked for me. May not work for everyone. How do you resist temptation to eat refined sugar?

    - it’s ok to slip up sometimes. A cheat day here and there can actually be healthy and motivating for your mind
    - swerve is a great sugar substitute brand
    - buying a ton of fruit is a great idea because fruit becomes one of your favorite snacks!

    @mellowyellow532 Před 6 lety +1

I watched so many videos about what to cut out, what not to eat to get healthy that I literally ran out of things to eat. This video helped me a lot. What I realized is it's absolutely necessary to cook if I want to persist eating as healthy as possible because just chopping up veggies and eating salads will get boring and I want to keep eating as an enjoyable experience in my everday. In fact, I have to because otherwise eating 100% healthy is not sustainable for me as I am an all or nothing person, either I eat 100% correct or I dont feel satisfied. This is my personal issue. Thats why eating "moderately healthy" does not work for me. For me, this is my way so sustain eating healthy. I needed years to realize this after so many failed all-or-nothing-cut-downs on "bad" food. Stop beating yourself up for not achieving your goals after you tried again and again. Try finding a "way" or make your own way to achieve it.

not if you cut out the chips/potato chips, candy of any sort and anything with processed sugar/processed everything. Nuts are nothing in the overall scheme of things. For instance, I bought a big bag of walnuts pieces, it was $7.00 USD, but I didn't buy the 3 boxes of cookies which were $6.00 apiece (gluten free gouges us, price wise) And I will put these nuts in salads, fruit, chicken salad, regular salad and in the end, just that alone actually cost me $8.00 less, and that was just one thing of many that I cut.

I only eat natural sugars (fruit, dates, etc), eat 1500 calories or less and walk 2 hours a day. Of course some aspects are hard like everyone eating sugary things around you while you're eating an apple but after you start I've found it so easy to ditch all the unhealthy things and eat healthy. I went off all types of carbs for 7 days. No fruits, sugar, bread, rice, wheat, or anything. It was very hard in the first 3-4 days, insane hard! But after that my appetite plummeted, sugar cravings disappeared and I felt the actual energy of food from when I ate my meals, my brain was stronger. On the 8th day I ate sugar, and boy did one bar of kinder give me a sugar high, my body was super sensitive to sugar. So I came here to see what actually happened when she cut sugar. Instead it's about cutting out refined sugar ONLY which not what the title of her video says at all. Misleading. (And gosh don't tell me cutting out sugar completely is bad because 1 week experiment won't kill anyone, second, you're wrong because body goes ketosis which is the body's way of switching from using Carb and sugar as energy to Fat as energy. Her food looks so good tho!

Okay, this is gonna be a long one ^-^
What you're doing with the whole sugar thing is fine. Consuming natural sugars like fructose (found in fruit) is the way to go. There are several types of sugars. The most well known one is "sucrose", the white sweetener we usually think of when the word "sugar" comes to mind. Lots of people don't know the differences, but i'm here to say that fructose is natural and perfect in a healthy diet, sucrose is a lot more processed and unnatural. I'm not saying to never consume sucrose --that's fine!
Just in much smaller portions also not as frequently, and you should be good.
Too much of *anything* is bad for you, keep that in mind, so make sure that your fruit consumption is not too high, and your diet is well-balanced.
Addressing I comment I saw, here is my response (Still talking about you though):
2000cal is roughly how much you should eat if you want to MAINTAIN your weight.
The amount of food also strongly depends on your activity levels; if you're very active you need to eat more due to the fact that you're burning calories much faster and thus, need to refill more frequently. If you're sedentary (don't exercise) then you need to eat less.
It also depends on how fast you want to hit your goal --and how far your goal is. There's so many factors to look at.
I can't give you an exact amount, but i'll give you an estimate and you can determine what you need, looking at your own activity, body, goal etc. The estimate should be between 1550cal - 1800cal.
You might not even want to lose weight--just stay healthy! So if that's the case...once again, roughly 2000cal is your best bet.
I really hope this was of any value to you and I wish you the best of luck! xx
