    “How does Janet being secretive yet her actively help explore the Quantum Realm in AMatW post credit before Endgame jive? Is the idea she was limiting how much they could find?” Actually, I think they're-editing aAnt-Man and the Wasp to make this movie make more sense. Originally, there wa sa deleted scene where she told hank more detail about the QR [clip, worlds]. And a lot of that exact dialogue was lifted for this movie, when she explains the realm to her family. At the end of ant-man and the wasp, they are sending scott into one specific part of the quantum realm to collect particles for Ghost, then they will pull him out what freaks out janet in this movie is that cassie sends out a signal that reverberates throughout the entire quantum realm, then bounces back to their location. It’s the difference between dipping your toe in the ocean, or dipping your foot in chum and then into the ocean. Case essentially created a device that would tell kang their exact location.
    But also, remember what Janet tells him [time vortex, save you].
    Doug: What’s a time vortex?
    Well, I would imagine that a time vortex is how kang’s variants banished him to the quantum realm. After all, they are masters of time, and the quantum realm is key for time travel-so these time vortexes probably lead to the deep part of the quantum realm where Kang lives. So Janet did want them to know about kang.
    And along those lines, Victor Santos 6297 says, “Janet not saying anything before it's too late, I get that she was upset about Kang, but was there any need to hide that?” I thought this made total sense. When people come home from war, they don’t usually want to talk about it. Janet wanted to forget the life she led down there. She didn;t want her family to know she was responsible for the rise of kang, or that she killed people in the resistance. She had a very normal reaction for a person with trauma.
    Better help ad here
    Soral Trading had a similar question, “If Janet Van Dyne just told them earlier that there is a time traveler conqueror, maybe they would be more ready and cautious in sending a signal there. Also, don't know why the people there blame her for all that Kang did.”
    Well, I already explained why she didn’t tell them. And I totally understand why people there blame her-she hel[ed Kang get his power back. She also led a fight against him, and even says that some people call her a terrorist. It’s implied that Janet was a troublemaker who did some nasty things in the realm. Half the people probably hated her, and the other half hated her for abandoning the fight against Kang.
    Rodney Summers on twitter asks, “In Ant-Man and the Wasp, Janet had strange quantum abilities, should anyone else develop these powers? How could she have developed them?”
    She developed the powers because she was in the realm so long [not the woman I was]. I got the impression that Janet had soaked in quantum energy and became kind of a quantum battery. She then used all her energy to stabilize Ghost, and that’s why they were trying to get more quantum particles at the end of the movie. Though, now that we know she was a freedom fighter, maybe those powers were the result of some experiment she did on herself-trying to give herself a new weapon to use against Kang.
    Invincible Heber on twitter says, “When Janet steals and expands Kang's core, she suits up as she had a nanotech suit, which isn't a thing before Black Panther (before Endgame for anyone besides T'Challa and Tony). Her suit was supposed to be old fashioned, like the one shown in Ant-Man.”

    To expand on how did Kang not see his defeat & why he isn’t as strong, they both have same answer. Inside the Quantum Realm he cannot manipulate time & he cannot see past/present/future events. This is also why the Council sends him here. They may not know that life exists in the Quantum Realm but they know time & space do not function the same so it cuts them off from their true dangerous potential. So they exiled him b/c they thought how could he get out when there’s nothing down there & time/space don’t work proper there & it adds salt to wound onto Kang cuz he’ll exist cut off from the multiverse & timeline(s)

      Kang wasnt at full power either, he just had his suit basically, in my opinion. So i can kind of give a pass for the "Ants" strong enough to beat him down. I think Ryan in the video touched on kang's view on how it all ends. Kang says, :"When you have the power to see through time, its hard not to go straight to the ending." Or something of that nature, So when he did have his power, he knows how it ends. Probably didnt look at his whole life story, i think it was out of ego. And of course, in agreeing with you, in the quantum realm, without his full power and the core, he couldnt see how the rebels attacked, and the ants. The ending that he foreshadows, can still be coming. I dont know enough of how it plays out.

    I believe it was Eric Voss from New Rockstars/Deep Dive, that theorized that The Conqueror is He Who Remains.
    The more I think about it, the more sense it makes, The Conqueror is his Goat variant, focused, methodical, meticulous. Where as He Who Remains, when we meet him, is quirky, eccentric, a trickster, seeming free as the air around us. I believe it's because he's conquered everything. So therefore when he meets the Loki's, he's overjoyed with the promise of what can result from their meeting.
    Let me just say how much I love Majors' performance for both these "variants," he's the reason I'm buying the whatever version of the ultimate bluray disc will be when it drops. I'm officially driving this bandwagon. I welcome a seat to anyone else here.

    • @kbrewers
      @kbrewers Před rokem +2

      I did think the same after this movie finished, but from He Who Remains monologue of the history of the Kangs, there were more than 1 Kang who wanted to take out all the other universal Kang threats, and protect their own timeline. If Kang the Conqueror becomes He Who Remains, the mannerism differences from both characters could be explained by your reasoning above. Also, the scars. He Who Remains has no facial scars. You can always explain that away with there are no laws at the end of time, etc etc....
      i keep thinking, that the Kang Dynasty and Council Mid Credits scene, is the reaction to after He Who Remains has died. Not Kang the Conqueror. If Sylvie can hide for presumably years, it would make sense that the Kang Dynasty could hide out from He Who Remains somewhere. Just a couple interesting points to bring up i thought.

      Sylvie was hidden from the TVA but HWR is beyond their dimension. He says he saw what happened on Lamentis, so presumably he saw her entire life, since that was the best hiding place she had. I don't think there's anywhere in the 4th dimension to hide from a 5th/6th dimensional being.
      Also I don't think it would make sense for them to refer to HWR as, _"the exiled one",_ when he could leave at any time and Quantum Kang was literally said to have been exiled by the other variants.

    • @dybiosol
      @dybiosol Před rokem

      Actually, this is still not really clear. Your question is most likely what Kang Dynasty and Secret Wats will end up properly answering. Almost everything we have seen till now suggests QR is actually the bedrock of all universes at the smallest level. If that's the actual route, then it would actually make the entire QR in the MCU consistent with real world quantum physics.
      If each universe provides its own definition of space and time, it's only natural that the Quantum Realm, which is a place where space and time becomes irrelevant, is fundamentally the gateway to all universes. This is also the implication of the time travel tech Tony made in Endgame as well.

      Draw a spider web or tree on a piece of white paper ( I use the comic version more)
      Fold it in half but leave spec between the halves, the space between the sides is the quantum realm
      Now to explain every hopping type
      Fold the middle part of paper down bringing two points together, that is America’s version.
      Fold the paper in half and poke a hole, that is quantum travel
      Follow one line to two points, draw a faint line in an arch between them, that is a time loop. And Kamala’s bangle
      And if you are drawing a web every intersect is an absolute point in time, unchangeable

    How to reconcile Janet's behavior at the end of AMatW with her behavior at the beginning of Quantumania was my biggest question coming out of this film. I've been thinking about it a lot, and here's something to consider: AMatW "happened before" the effects of Loki Season One. The multiverse didn't really exist when we saw Janet's behavior, and now it does. We don't really know how the effects of Loki Season One reverberated throughout the newly formed multiverse. For all we know, Janet's experience in the Quantum Realm was completely different before, and her experiences were then changed when Sylvie killed He That Remains. Maybe there's a different version of the post-credit AMatW scene that is now part of the canon, and we just haven't seen it, yet. Of course, I'm not sure how that squares with the teasing shot we saw of Kang's kingdom in a previous film...

      I have been saying/thinking this a lot. The scene has the viewer assume they are talking about Kang the Conqueror, but if this Kang is not actually dead and just in another deeper part of the quantum realm/energy core, how would they know he is dead? In my head, its more compelling to have this diversion of thought, or 'sleight of hand' that they are actually speaking of He Who Remains, and these Kangs have been in hiding out somewhere where He Who Remains couldnt find them. Like Sylvie perhaps...
      And lastly i think its an incredible thought exercise on when He Who Remains is killed, Time reverts back and whatever will or has happened, will happen and has already happened based on my unprofessional knowledge of time. lol... The TVA works between Time, therefore in Loki Season 2, when you see the sculptures of what looks to be Kang the Conqueror or another variant, once HWR is killed, whatever will happen has already happened. Sounds scatter brained, but so much fun to think about.

    • @yoursonisold8743
      @yoursonisold8743 Před rokem

      That actually doesnt make sense, because the reason the Sacred Timeline exists is that He Who Remains prunes off any timeline that leads to a Kang. The only multiverse he allows is one where no Kangs rule and can start a war. So in no way can a council of Kangs exist in the Sacred Timeline. The mere existence of it means this happens "after" the Loki series, although time happens all at once, so it affects the past and future as well.

    When Kang crashes in the Quantum Realm he is wearing "regular" clothes. After Janet and Kang fix the multiversal power core and insert it into Kangs ship he is able to access his "Kang suit" which implies that the suit is tied to or powered by the chair. Also, we would assume that before his banishement he wore the suit, and when his chair was damaged the suit was taken away, or he would have had it on when he crashed in the Quantum Realm. After finding out who Kang really is Janet takes the power core and the chair de-powers, but Kang gets to keep his suit and technology. After all we are in a massive time loop, correct? or are we in a phase of the multiverse history that is unpredictable due to the branching time lines? He who remains sounded VERY confident that he would just eventually end up right back at the TVA after Sylvie and Loki killed him. Once the multiverse started to branch though, he who remains didn’t know what happens next. He passed “the threshold”. He did still however seem to know he would end up right back where he was at the TVA? Ryan help me!

      The threshold was when his control ends and when he died previously. Like how he avoided every attack prior

    What about how Kang was vaporizing folks with his blue beams and once Scott got there, he took a direct hit and wasn't vaporized? I don't remember getting any info about his suit offering any type of protection.

    I don't think Kang killed previous Avengers in a one-on-one fistfight, for people like Thor, Captain Marvel, and Doctor Strange, he probably used Alioth to completely erase their timelines from a safe distance.

    Ryan, great video as always. Totally unrelated but something I’ve wondered for a long time now is if the movie wall behind you and Doug is fake? Sometimes it looks like a big print out but other times I’m not so sure. Can you settle this for me once and for all? Thanks!

    Why did the Ants stop attacking Kang, and suddenly disappear when Scott needed help fighting Kang?
    This is similar to the aqua Na'avi tribe disappearing during the climax of Avatar 2, which also makes no sense.

    People call this variant of Kang weak but forget he killed all those ants, then went on to beat up an avenger as just a regular dude. How is that weak? It took 2 heroes to beat him and that's without any power

    People are misunderstanding the 5 year/5 min thing...
    Scott was in the QR for what felt like 5 mins, but it was 5 years after entering that he is pulled out... Janet was in the QR for years, hence aging because she was pulled out of the QR 30 years later (real time)...
    time wont mean anything (because it is only relative), but the body will still age...

  • @oldman_g
    @oldman_g Před rokem +1

    I think the time vortex is the reason Scott was in the QR for 5 minutes, but years went by above, during IW and Endgame. The time they spent in the QR in this movie, didn't cause a time jump above, right?

    When the ants come from the future they have tech that is 1000 years in the future, which Kang is supposed to be like from 1000 years in the future. So he technically only lost to tech from his sort of era per se. Which shows that he only will lose to something from his time.

    My biggest gripe of The Quantum Realm is that the “space” element of “time and space [being] irrelevant” doesn’t get played up at all. Like the physics of the QR end up seeming almost exactly like our own physics.

    not only was Billy Murray a fun surprise, for such a small part he legitimately brought his A-game! I guess maybe you could say he's a little distracting because he's a legendary comic actor, but I thought his appearance and role in the film were perfectly fine.

    It's crazy that sometimes we forget that Janet IS the Wasp... I hear a lot people saying "It's only called Ant-man and the Wasp because of the previous movie, Evangeline Lily almost doesn't do anything", but Hope Van Dyne actually only exist in an alternate reality on Marvel comics and she is a villain. The fact that Janet Van Dyne is responsible for the rise of Kang is big and kind fitting, giving that originally Hank Pym was responsible for Ultron, and the Pym/Van Dyne couple are the founders of the Avengers in the comics and in the movies they're not as important because A: The Infamous domestic abuse story in the comics B: Marvel didn't believed in the potential of female superheroes onscreen back in 2008 and C: Edgard Wright really wanted to do a heist movie with Scott.

    My biggest issue was the final fight between Scott and Kang. No idea why Scott didn't attempt a takedown. Punch, punch, punch, is ineffective....and cliche. Scott's training in the first movie was a combination of grappling and striking. If he wanted to beat a larger opponent, take it to the ground.
