What's hilarious is they have pretty much exclusive access to worlds biggest hotbed of talent, there are millions of kids in the Paris area playing football and as we can see Nkunku, Koman, Diaby etc. loads of good players are coming out of there and they have basically ignored it. They could right now have a squad built around a core of players brought up near the stadium, who would identify with the club, fight for it, who would have played together since the youth teams producing great teamwork, but instead they ignored it for a load of mercenaries essentially and big names looking for pay days.

The issue with PSG is precisely that their approach has long been to win the Champions League by exclusively purchasing players with star status. An example is Sergio Ramos. It feels like the club acquired him solely to be able to boast about having Sergio Ramos at PSG. However, in the long run, it wasn't a wise acquisition.

Indeed, Maqwell has made three videos about big failures when it comes to football: Paris Saint Germain (this one), Manchester City (they won the Champions League at last, as well as the first European Treble), and Belgium national football team (a golden generation with some best players like De Bruyne, Hazard, and Lukaku, but still failed to win either Euro or World Cup).
But I would say England national football team was the biggest failures. Since 1966, they are still yet to win either Euro or World Cup. The men's side had its closest time in 2021, when they lost on penalties to Italy. Even the women's side did so. After winning the Euro the last year, they are still failed to beat Spain on the last Sunday's Womens World Cup Final, denying the 57-years of World Cup hurt.

@@ezraezra2928 Yeah, I feel you. As an avid Manchester United supporter, even though I'm out of the UK, I always have kept a closer eye on England's National team, and with their level of talent and investment, they're really dropping the ball with this silverware drought. I have the same opinion about Brazil and Portugal. They have top notch player talent, but when it comes to the coaching talent, they've been missing that severely. The last english manager to win the PL was Howard Wilkinson with Leeds in 1992. And if you take a look at the CL, it's even farther behind, with the last being Joe Fagan in 1984 with Liverpool. In the end, the blame is on the shoulders of the F.A, for their superb and refusal to hire better foreign managers or at least invest smart in their local managers. Idk if you agree with me, but a coach like Southgate shouldn't be at the command of England, but that's just my opinion

IMO, PSG need a steady rival in ligue 1 that have ability to compete in champions league or europa league. Bundesliga Bayern have Dortmund, Leipzig, etc. Serie A have Inter, Milan, Juventus, Napoli, etc. La Liga Duo Madrid Barcelona have Atletico and Sevilla that surprisingly doing great in EL. Premier League have City, Chelsea, Liverpool, MU, etc. Because a proper rival will increase the local league level and also make them more sharp and ready to face opponent from other league. Paris FC was an empty shell and when they merged with Stade Saint Germain, they wouldn't end up in the first division. (Could also talk about the scission of the club a few years later)
The VA OM match fixing scandal has been admitted to be in order to avoid injury, not to ensure the victory (va was fighting relegation)
Colony capital, not canal +, were the owners when qsi bought a psg team fighting against relegation (thought it'd be important to point out)
Carlo ancelotti was already coaching psg during the 11-12 season when Montpellier ended up champions.
Mbappe did not break the transfer record, as the transfer happened a year after that of neymar (first season with psg was a loan with a buying clause)
6:14 what saudi money? saudi Arabia and qatar are two different countries
Why bring up every coach but Galtier?
Ekitike wasn't bought this summer, but last summer.
Xavi Simmons has been in Paris since 2020 he's been loaned last season and this season too so he won't be here.
You're almost at one mistake a minute. I know I'm being picky but hell you have to be more careful.

Even the Kardashians supported PSG by wearing their jerseys and attending their games, as if they know anything about football. Because the team is from a well known city and travel destination, it attracts people from all over the world. I don’t know if the signing of Ibra and Silva were to sell merchandise, I think those moves were to be top of the league.. which they succeeded at consistently and it helped grow the club a bit more in the realm of European football. After the success of the Ibra era within the domestic league/cups and the attention they were getting, the merch sales started. The signing of MBappe was solely for sales. Being the biggest name at that moment because of his playing in the World Cup catapulted him into superstardom… then Messi and Neymar… the aspect of sales was definitely huge, but I think PSG was trying to rekindle the success of MSN that Barca had… but there was one fatal flaw… the difference between MBappe and Suarez… Mbappe’s ego clashed against Messi’s and they played against each other.. whereas (just as Neymar does) Suarez fell in line with whatever Messi said.. that is why that club failed with those three upfront. Also the whole Argentina vs France World Cup thing didn’t help Messi’s image with PSG fans…especially the after celebration.
PSG could very easily become contenders, but it won’t be until after MBappe leaves or he wrangles in his ego.. he is a great talent but doesn’t know how to play with others well..

I mean city went to a ucl final and failed before, difference is they came back stronger in the next 2 seasons, striker less and still favorites in 2022 and then winning ofc in 2023. I think the biggest issue is that when psg get sent home from europe there is no ambition or goal, it all switches to "next season" former psg coaches confirm this. City pushed to win the prem once thrown out of europe, psg typically just cruised to ligue 1 titles once the ucl was unatainable, which is why Lille and Monaco beat them, despite both being very strong the seasons they won, Psg should've taken the league. Plus Psg cannot control their players, City control egos and will sell anyone who wishes to leave or has poor attitude, psg doesn't. City were respected more than psg because they limited liverpool to one premier league title in an era where they could've and most probably would've won the league two more times, Psg lost the second a team could actually contend

    • @korganrocks3995
      @korganrocks3995 Před 8 měsíci

Even if they'd won it, people would have just shrugged their shoulders and said "well of course they did with that much money spent", just like we do with City. When you have unlimited funds, success is par, and anything else is failure. As a United fan, it hurts when Liverpool wins the CL or league, because they actually earned it. City winning means nothing to me, except that they ruined the party for the team that actually deserved to win that particular trophy that particular year.
