As someone who got into football because of that Barca team from 2007 to 2008 under Frank Rijkaard and then Peps evolution of that team, its just sad to see all the BS going on. You want football to be beautiful, you want wins to be earned and teams to grow, and to see this team go from one of the greatest teams to this spiraling cascade of debt is sad. Its so easy to say invest in the youth, work towards the future with an identity and philosophy, but the amount of money weve spent and finanical hell we are in, the club deserve it for not planning better for chosing short fixes for long term problems

@@Vizeh Vizeh, I don't think you've fully grasped the situation at all at this point in time, as the English media have heavily exaggerated the situation at hand.
Barca being 'charged' isn't the same as them being convicted. Charged means accused, and as of now there's no evidence in favor of them bribing the refs.
What Laporta has done so far isn't 'corruption' as many people are led to believe. He has actually eased Barcelona's finances, and has gained an all time high net profit this season in Barcelona's history.
Vizeh, I have to say that you've lost some of my respect for you with this video. For a while I've seen you as a great reliable analyst, but this video, and particurally the thumbnail showcases a premature conclusion, that will lead many neutrals into believing that Barca under Laporta is a corrupt banter club, yet that couldn't be farther from the truth.

The decline was ugly, bad things kept following one after the other.
But certain things are very unclear among the general public.
    - The new camp nou budget was allocated seperately and the stadium revenue will be enough to repay the money that has been put in.
    - The squad is very well balanced in every areas and signs are it will be very good season both domestically and in ucl
-The majority of the assets that were sold were non profitable for the club but only a certain % of them is sold which means club is still in control of them
    - The negreira case has been blown out of proportion by certain officials within laliga to put the current board under pressure. These are just allegations which are unproven and its been a year since it began and there has been no evidence about it. The public isnt even waiting till court proceedings and already called them guilty.
-The club broke full season attendance records(all time club history) at camp nou last season
-The club also generated record profits of 304 million euros last season.
-Registration of players became a problem because of strict laws of laliga wage cape which made us dependent on cash injections but by next season,it wont be the same case.
The future is bright for the club.

I think that barca have a great future. They have such good mix of youngsters and experienced players and can compete for the laliga and the champions league. The negreira thing was an old story resurfacing again. Its always "charged with" or "accused of" with no actual proof. Let the proof come and we can decide. And i think for the first time since 2015 barca actually have a better overall team than madrid. But still ther is a long way to go for barca to be "juggernauts" in europe again. They should be getting consistently to ucl quarters or semis at least this year.

    @Fares_SH Před 7 měsíci +21

I've seen other commenters tackle many points already, such as the Camp Nou renovation being self sufficient, so to avoid redundancy, I'll go into some points that I didn't see anyone address
In terms of the debt, the club announced 3 days ago that the debt is now down to €552m after a record year in all financial aspects. Laporta (current president) started his first term in 2003. Barça were in absolute financial ruin and in huge debt so similar to the current situation. He brought it back from the dead and created the infamous 2006-2012 era in the meantime so fans trust that he wouldn't make decisions that would ruin the club in the future.
Little note about the financial levers, the big one everyone talks about as "selling their soul" is selling part of the TV rights. That was 'sold' off for a maximum of 25 years but Barça can buy it back if they choose to and have the finances to do so
So yes it's pretty much just rented out
The situation isn't great, sure, but it's not as bad as you think. They're in no way in danger of bankruptcy as of now.
Edit: forgot an important point. Here it is
As you mentioned, Bartomeu got raided as part of an investigation that found that he had made payments to a social media company to write reports and spread fake/out of context stories in order to ruin people's images and make them out to be the villains.
Those people were massive figures in Barça as a whole, including Messi, Xavi, Laporta, Piqué, Pep, etc, etc, etc. All because they weren't on the same page as him
Bartomeu is one of the most hated figures in Barça history and it's sad that someone who didn't care about the club ended up running it's name through the mud and lose a lot of the neutrals respect
    Sorry for the essay lol

I got into football after seeing clips of Xavi and Barca's tiki taka football as a kid. That team encapsulated everything Cruyff believef, about playing well being more important than the scoreboard. It felt like everything slowly fell apart after that Neymar transfer to PSG though - the funds were massively mismanaged and there was no plan for what the team would look like going forward. The insane, unsustainable contracts players got put on under Bartomeu financially crippled the club when we lost all the income during Covid.
By far the worst thing to happen to the club was Bartomeu. Both the incoming and senior players got put on insane, unsustainable contracts and the club ended up getting crippled by the lack of income during Covid. The strict financial regulations of La Liga have made the issues far more dramatic though in terms of registering contracts etc.
The football-side of things have gotten much better under Xavi (and Laporta et al.) and i think we've done good transfer business the last two seasons, alongside plenty of massively talented, homegrown players. Even as a Barca fan though, the Negreira case is shady and super concerning - best case is the reports are found (or at least it's linked to Bartomeu rather the club), but hope it finalises asap because rn it's a massive black mark on the club.

But all these things were being brought up back then too. In fact, what we read now is actually not even "new" news, many of these things are recycled from 2022.
Besides, what is also always really interesting about this "Negreira" case/news, is that the Spanish (Madrid) media always drop something about Negreira (sometimes not even new information or just speculation) out of nowhere almost every time Real Madrid drops points/performs bad and/or Barcelona picks up points/performs well. The timing is always really suspicious...
Last of all; the recent news about the Negreira case will also be pretty much useless; the reason the case was reopened was because the judge ruling that Negreira, as vice-president of the CTA (referees comitee) is a public functionary, when by law FIFA prohibits any governing body (like the Spanish FA and the CTA) to be a public organisation, they must be a private organisatiin. So by definition, to comply by the laws, Negreira could not ever be a public functionary. If he indeed was, as per the judge, that would mean that the whole Spanish FA and other organisations with Spanish football are actually acting contrary to FIFA's laws, meaning that the whole Spanish footballing FA's/system are at fault...

Hi, Vizeh, i'm a Barcelona fan from 2003 onwards (i was barely a kid, but the things i saw where enough to love that team, and having a family who loves Barça helps😂) i cant tell you that the future of Barça is not as bleak at its seems:
    1. Barça where a pretty stable club, their financial problems begun when Bartomeu misused the teams finances to make absurds deals which made the team collapse.
    2. Laporta, the new president, is a business specialist. He knew that the club couldn't wait until their overall finances where at its best so he decided to risk it by selling their rights and getting loans with long term payouts with different partnerships. It was necessary for the club to rise up.
    3. Almost all players from the Bartomeu era that where signed with absurd clauses are gone. Dembele, Coutinho, Malcom... And many more. Plus this year the amount of players on loan or sold are a lot, while the signings where either free or on loan (Oriol Romeu is the only one they bought) and players from la masia are now in the first team. This year's team are youthful and balanced with some veteran players. Is a team with great potential to become a beast again in Europe in a future.
    4. Is also sad that Barça's last UCL win was on 2015, but remember, many teams don't have near UCL cups as Barça and many are on worst situations than ours. Speaking of which, A big club or country on a losing streak is something that happens more often than people think (Brazil has more world cups than any other country but when Germany won 7-1 against them, was an amazing loss, but it happens) Barça where on they lowest, but they're rising up, a renewed defense, midfield and a promising forward, only the future will tell but it looks good.
    5. Last but not least is the Negreira Case. Even though I'm a Barça fan i can understand why people are concerned abou the accusations and whatnot, but remember, is just that, "accusations" with no proof or anything. Last year the court declared Barça innocent on the payment on Negreira and UEFA said that Barça will not participate if found guilty, but there is no evidence on the Negreira case so Barça is participating right now on the UCL, and now they accused Barça of bribery to the referees. Those are simple accusations with no substance. Why would Barça bribe referee and yet loose many La Liga cups, because they say that started from 2015 till now and Barça lost many La Liga if you bribing referees it should give you victory but many of the referees who was "supposed" to make Barça win matches, where there when Barça lost La Liga. The 2016-2017 la Liga was won by Real Madrid and the 2019-2020 la Liga too. Real Madrid has more La Liga wins than Barça but is Barça the one bribing referees? Look I'm not saying that is Real Madrid fault or anything, but the Negreira case conveniently came when Barça was wining La Liga last year, but when Barça was loosing, nobody talked about it, which is really convenient.
Well i don't want to talk about the things happening in the spain La Liga (which are many, believe me) but i want to say is that don't believe everything is told on the news. Barça is not perfect, but the club doesn't need to bribe no one to win, and i hope that when the investigation will prove nothing (because there's really no case at all TBH) we'll only see Barça as to what it is. A club with a bright future who the media just wants to put down.
Ps: sorry about that long writing Vizeh i enjoy your content, I'm just showing you the light about a team people try to judge often without really understanding it. 😂😂😂 Keep with your good work and congrats on becoming a father.

Yeah, also about finances, aside from loans and loose of revenue, the club in 2 years has cut 300 milions in wages so it's not like "selling the future" they just made an investment to reestructure tha team.
Also if Negreire case is true the the referees would have been paid not much more than their actual salaries (makes no sense).

Good point about the UCL. People tend to get used to it, especially nowadays with social media, and make fun of clubs for not winning the CL for 3 years or 5 or 8 or 10 years.
This is mostly coming from the "new" internet troll generation; especially those who are really young and grew up seeing Madrid win 4 CL's in 5 years and chose that club as "their club". They don't know that Madrid couldn't even make a semi-final after the 2002 UCL, up until 2011, and only won it again 12 years later in 2014!
      Barca had to wait 14 years (1992 - 2006).
Bayern and Liverpool had to wait decades.
Juventus has been in finals so often, but still 1996 is their last one.
Again, people have been so spoiled, because of "recent" succes (Barca winning 4 CL's in 9 years, Madrid winning 5 CL's in 9 years), that they almost see it as "normal" to win it so often and see waiting more than 3 years now as a "failure". Teams can have a "success" period, but it will be followed by a difficult period, especially with the state of football now where a lot more powerhouses exist.

Im fairly new to Football but the reason i got into it was bc of the rebuild barcelona started going through with Xavi. I like the potential storyline of an old player saving his old club as a coach . The Bribery charge could be the final nail in the coffing seeing as how tight of a spot the club has been financially. i’m hopeful that it can be proven as fake but i can’t see a reasonable way to justify paying a third party in order to pay the referee for reports. It simply makes no sense, why would they go about it in such a fishy way if they weren’t doing anything illegal. It sucks if this is what sinks the club bc Laporta and his board has done an amazing job given the state of the club when they took over.

Honestly though, most people don't actually give a real damn about women's football, and I'm 100% sure that the spirit of the club is not kept afloat by the women's team. Yes, they're very good, they just won the UWCL, but most Barcelona fans don't even see the team, and only hear very loose things about it, like the aforementioned UWCL win. So really, the club is mostly kept afloat simply because they have a great history, and with such a high local, national and global influence, fans are likely to never abandon the club, hoping for a new UCL triumph, and many more will join just because they're objectively a good team, but the women's team will not have much of an impact in that, at least imo.

This Negreira case is honestly hilarious to me. I have watched that league for years and this allegations are just plainly stupid to me.
President of La Liga is a Real Madrid fan, a declared one, and that shouldn’t be a problem if he actually worked around his own fanatism and trait every club as equal. This has not been the case since Bartomeu left the club (doing serious economical desitions before he left), because Laporta rejected the “offer” from Tebas to sign for CVC which (by the words of TEBAS HIMSELF) would have allowed Messi to be renewed because supposedly it gave our club a lot of money which proved to be false cause a lot of clubs that signed that crap are struggling right now and Barcelona not signing started all this mess about inscriptions and shit like that.
Since this Tebas has been the enemy of the club, in the Negreira case he literally presented false evidence and the guy has been really persistent about a case that has zero proofs of being literally a thing, this is not Tebas wanting justice or whatever, this is a Vendetta for going against his power and now we are suffering from his unending tantrum. Why he allowed all the Bartomeu waste? Where where this regulations when Barcelona was wasting money on Griezzman or putting of market salaries on some players? The real reason behind all this trash is that Barcelona represents way more than just a football club in Spain and the presidency of Laporta is a threat for the ones in power that don’t really want a guy that is on favor of some political stuff about the independence of certain regions in Spain… That is why this problems started when Barcelona finished the Rosell/Bartomeu era, Tebas has explicitly said a bunch of times that Laporta should quit the charge for the allegations that are not even proved! He is not expecting a veredict, he just want this case to be as big as it can to destroy the Laporta faction and regaing the control of FC Barcelona like he had on all the years that Bartomeu was in power.
We are NOT descending 😂😂😂, the fact that some people think about that being a possibility shows that Tebas has succeded. There is NO EVIDENCE OF BARCELONA PAYING ANY REFEREES, NO EVIDENCE OF EVEN TRY TO FIX ANY MATCH, AND THERE IS ZERO EVIDENCE ABOUT SPORTS CORRUPTION.
The latest news were literally about how they changed the topic of the allegations to (cohecho en español) and that just shows how desperate they are cause for that allegation to even exist Negreira should have been a public worker which he isn’t… So if I have to take a “”wild”” guess I predict that this is going nowhere again.
This is the most ridiculous drama I ever heard and it really shows how gullible some people are, 8 million for 17 years of paying the refs? How that even makes sense, they are an extremely big entity and they are not precisely poor, this money is obviously some dude that robbed the club and tried to hide it by falsifying documents… At least that has some sense because BELIEVE ME when I say that the refs haven’t been supportive at all in those years.
So no, in summary I’m not worried at all, just incredibly mad with how reactionary and ignorant some football fans are.

I don't believe the league/federation will exclude one of the biggest clubs in the world from competing, especially at a time taht the league that is losing relevancy when compared to the premier league with each passing year. Now, when it comes to their financial problems, my prediction is that they'll be forced to sell the club to one of the arabian sovereign fund that can afford to pay their short term debt upfront in order to have such a valuable asset. Second, they can't sell the club, La Liga doesn't allow those things, that's why till now no club has been sold to Arabia in LaLiga, Barça have a plan for their financial problem, don't worry

Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester United, and even clubs who were initially 2nd-tiered, but considered as big one due to the consistent European success like Roma, Ajax, and Lyon. All of them were in difficult situations!

If the bribes turn out to be true than they got the worst deal ever because for everyone who watched LaLiga especially between 2013 and 2018 knows that in 99% of all controversial ref decisions Barca always got screwed over.
In 2014 on the final matchday alone a very LEGAL Messi goal was disallowed because of "Offside" even though it wasn't. That disallowed goal was the reason why Barca lost LaLiga to Atleti that season.
Further on in 2017 Barca got denied a goal where the ball was 1 meter behind the line which resulted in a 1:1 against Betis. If Barca would have got the 3 points that game I believe they would have had the same amount of points that Real had at the end who won the title that year.

The future of barcelona = They should focus more on Youth products instead of these pointless signings. I don't know whether they "bribed" or not but hopefully it won't damage their finance for long. I think Real madrid is also NOT A SAINT. they also have such cases but as unreported as Barcleona's case here.
The Downfall started when Xavi left Barcelona. After 2015 season they did not win a Single UCL. That was the last season of Xavi in Barca as a player.

Ronaldinho is one of the best ever and we remember him fondly.....but real life is 2006 was when he did those things.....since then he's lost everything , been bettayed and arrested and suffered bankruptcy.....dinho right now probably doesn't care how many people rank him in their top 5.....he knows he was just blessed to have the recognition that jay jay okocha also deserved but never got ....and at the end of the day.....its you , your life and your decisions.....this applies to chelsea , barcelona and Manchester united and one day oil city will face waaaaaaaaay worse.....we might think ourselves brilliant.....but yhe world will continue being the world even if you died today....the entire species could be extinct and earth would still be earth😂

Despite how great Barcelona is as an institution, I think they should face the proper legal penalties for bribery (even though they likely won't). For years, the La Liga has been held back by its biggest teams who take a majority of its profits and now seemingly have had sporting decisions go their way. The La Liga needs to become a fair competition again so that it can become more competitive and interesting to watch.

Bartomeu is responsible for a majority of Barcas issues. The transfers and contracts his board handed out have financially hamstrung the club. All the transfers and contracts mentioned in this video are from Bartomeus reign. The clubs finances are still recovering from that period (worsened by Covid).

Yes we were with shit around our neck, but now it's only by the waist and looking up, when everything is dropped and the club finances are fine we'll know who was right.
