- I've been here in Alaska for one month now, it is absolutely beautiful! This trip wasn’t planned, however I needed a job. So I randomly applied for one coolworks.com and two weeks later, here I am. Its been a whirlwind of a journey joining the company mid season, getting trained in and now working 50 hour weeks. But I love it; The company, the people, the boat, and of course working at sea. Our season only lasts until late Sept though, so Im saving all I can to be able to travel again in the fall.

Better days
www.bensound.com/
I remember my years in SE AK. As a 20-something, commercial fishing, running wild... Ketchikan, Juneau, Klawok, Wrangell, Petersburg. Everywhere. We weren't able to film like you do today. So many things are changed now. Thank You for documenting what is there now, what is left...
Don't ever forget. Make notes every day. Journal your days in paradise. When you leave/get older you will forget and not be able to stitch it together correctly.
Write it all down, please.
Words cant describe how this video made me feel. You are really living the real world and there so much more to life. Beautiful.
A person that finds beauty in every thing around them is a rare person and themselves a beautiful thing, you have inspired me to look closer and find the beauty in my surroundings
You cannot go to Alaska and not do that, it is like compulsory, mandatory, you have to, there is no way not to. 7.5 years there I know
Remarkable video! Such a beautiful place; I envy you. I can't even imagine being in a place where so much incredible natural beauty exists, and where life appears to be so simple. This video has made me regret so many of the decisions that I made early in life. I've worked so hard to be successful and climb to the top of my profession, and now I realize that's really nothing. You are living your life well and enjoying all the beauty in the world. Thanks for sharing this.
I am Alaskan. This is one of the best videos I have ever seen on Skagway. Thank you for sharing.
Hi
You are beautiful and blessed to have a job you enjoy and to be in a place with such natural wonders. Stay fit; enjoy and stay single. Keep your life simple.
I worked casino aboard one of the cruise ships, 14 years ago. I really enjoyed Skagway!
So yak n, you think Skagway is Alaska? Shows you don’t know crap about Alaska! Simple!
Craig Caldwell , you realize Skagway isn’t real Alaska? You have no clue about real Alaska! Simple😂😉
Alaska truly is the last frontier. You will have a great experience and be able to save tons of money as well. You'll find something that really fits your spirit and then 50 hours will seem like play. Ignore the negativity in the comments, those people are just jealous.
I'm late here i know but still this is a gorgeously emotional and scenic video. I want to watch it again and again.
I love that music. I miss Alaska. My first taste of Alaska was in 1998 when I drove up to Skagway. I road the AK marine highway to Juneau that year to work as a rafting guide in Juneau for Alaska Travel Adventures. I ended up coming back two years later to work for TEMSCO helicopters to work as a guide on the Mendenhall again in Juneau. I'll never forget the sense of atachment I had to the wild and the sense of pure alone I felt in Skagway living out of my truck so far away from everyone I knew. So happy, and so sad to be alone. I wouldn't trade that experience for the world.
I miss Alaska and the ocean. Thanks for reminding me where I've been. Great video.
Truly a beautiful attitude towards enjoying every day and all that comes with it. Blessings.
Oh man! Would love to go to Alaska someday, seems like everyone is somewhat into outdoors-stuff. Great filming and thumbs up from Sweden!
The music, the narrative, the VIEWS! Magnificent and relaxing.
I admire your courage to face the unknown in search of such beauty. The simple things in life are what can bring the heart joy! Peace be with you.
Brenda Riesen just thought the same ✌🏼️
Just found your channel. Really enjoyed this video. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!

Andrew Weick thank you so much! I love that you were on our boat! ☺️👍❤
@@RoadtoRechah hello
Wow I can't believe all the negative comments
Do what makes you happy
I tend to think every single time I see negative remarks in videos highlighting Alaska's Unique Beauty is- "Jealous! Because they don't have it!" 😮😥
some folk are real saddo's and feel the need to try and project their sad lives on to others
@@leeryan1969 True fact
Very touching video. I was just one of those tourist on a cruise ship two weeks ago. Skagway is beautiful, thanks for sharing your adventure.
Absolutely love the background music. Thank you for sharing a beautiful part of my home state!
Great decision to live in Alaska! I grew up in Anchorage and now ‘live ‘ in the Bay Area. I took my family to Alaska on a trip which included Skagway. They didn’t want to leave!
Enjoy the last frontier!
How the ghetto bay area life. I'm from Sacramento but lived in anchorage diamond for 5month then moved back to sac.

I just watched your video in its entirety. It is one of the most beautiful things I have had the pleasure of seeing. You are wonderful and inspiring and thank you so much for sharing a portion of your life with us.
I usually watch a travel CZcamsr named Philly Dom who just took a seasonal job in Cordova, Alaska, which is how I found your video. Good stuff.

Spent a few months backpacking/hitchhiking AK when I was 18. I'm 32 now and daydream about it almost daily. Enjoy your experience. It's one you will NEVER forget.
good for you for taking a chance, enjoy while your young
WOW! YOU REALLY MADE IT TO DREAMLAND...LOVE YOUR VIDEOS and KEEP ON POSTING!!!;-)
Looks amazing! You're my kind of gal; independent, hard-working, intelligent, adventurous, beautiful, kind. This world would be a better place with more women like you. Enjoy every minute!!!
Bill Redding thanks Bill, it's been difficult and frustrating. I will return and explain as soon as I am able. Thanks for your kind words
for you it's important that she's hard working? Is this some language problem maybe?
Why do you care?
Suzy Bae Do you feel threatened by men? Of course you do. You just haven't understood that men and woman are different. That doesn't make one better than the other, but just different. Woman have strengths that men don't have and vice versa. Nobody said woman can't work just as hard or harder than a man. Reading your post I sense a lot of anger towards men, that's too bad that you choose to go through life for not simply seeing a person as they are.
Thanks for painting All of Us with the same Brush... Grow Up.
GMS You're right. I'm relatively new to CZcams and I have to get used to the trolls that run rampant on here. After I posted I realized that she is just trying to stir the pot, like I said, "I'm relatively new".
I love this video. Amazingly stunning. I feel drawn to the "small town" appeal. The music was relaxing and peacefully placed me at ease. Long life and happiness my friend.
Wow those are jaw dropping beautiful views. You are very lucky.
That little IGA grocery was a great find when we were in Skagway last month.

"Yeah I was Valedictorian of my class"
"Oh how big was your class?"
"Only two......."
I wouldn’t care that’s not the point
I wonder why it lies in the hearts of so many to run away from everything they have, only to reflect upon what's been left and leave one unsure of where they're going. Ultimately only proving that the so many believe that the best place in life is where you've been and where your going. Meanwhile, I'm here smelling the roses. Good luck, I pray you find solace.

I was reflecting more on my own life and thinking what I wrote might impart that to someone else. I think or hope she is exactly where she wants to be.

The scenary is majestic and the music is surreal. This is a great video!
You know what they say about a young girl who moves to Alaska to find a man? "The odds are good she finds a man, the trouble is, the goods are quite odd."
Lol
No doctor or clinic ?.. What u do in case of emergencies ?
I believe this is only my second comment on youtube ever! Woa! I spent too summers in Skagway as a hiking guide. There is a small clinic with nurses and a physician's assistant. Dentist comes once a month. We have a dedicated fire department (with a brand new station this year) that responses to fire, search and rescue, and emergency medical calls. I am a part of the FD and we participated in training every week. Hope this helps!

That was beautiful, really inspiring. The music was very calming.
i would be so bord. i need internet 24/7
Fantastic, love your commitment to life.
ou812 reactions n more why are your comments so shit?
I don't see people having a more fulfilling or happier life today, than we had back in the 70's and 80's when we had no internet.
One major diffrence of course, was back then your friends were people that you actually knew, liked and socialized with. Unlike today when so many people have hundreds of friends on social media, and yet seem to be deeply lonely. Ridiculous.
Paul DG Back in the 70's, people were taught manners so they would know how to act civil toward others. Seems that children from the 80's on, are not taught those skills. Hence the lack of civility on the internet, and other public areas. I'm just hoping the "silent majority" still adheres to civil behavior, and are teaching manners to their children.
Internet 24/7? That's boring. Get out of your parents basement and see the actual world.
why so down and dramatic... jeez feels like a starving child video
Edmay Mortem and you look like your mom locked you in the basement for 20 years.
thats Ken Kaneki who was tortured util insanity twice.

Hello beautiful lady
Very relaxing wonderful scenic views in Alaska👌thank you for sharing your experience👍
stunning place but this music and your voice make it all depressed
EZ fix turn mute on......
shut up you horrid person
She doesn't sound very happy to me. Probably because all the fishermen are married .
Well I mean it is Alaska dude
50 hour weeks is not living free. i rather be homeless. sometimes i think the homeless are the only free people in this world.
A 50 hour week is nothing when you love your job, love your employees or co-workers, your environment, your home, the outdoors. She works on a tour boat that travels around the connecting Lakes of Alaska and Canada. I bet she loves it. Plus, i'm sure she makes decent money doing that too. How is that not free? Unless you're referring to the commitment of a job? But then again, it's only temporary, she said she was doing it to save up money for more travels. and besides even when she does travel, recording and video editing is her full time job and that is time consuming and difficult, especially when you're mobile. Isn't that the same commitment as a job?
Work is something we all must do as a part of life. Homeless or off grid it applies.
ou812 reactions n more actually no. We are not free.
Just free from taxes.
Rahmstation taxes are still here. It's just city to city not state.
Alaskan Cannon homeless do not pay income tax if they are jobless or property tax or rent

Thank you for sharing the beauty of Alaska with me as I probably won't make it there myself, its so breathtaking
These are depressed, boozy towns and unless you are loaded, they will wear on you and no one stays long unless they have a government job or a strong reason to stay. Hard to believe that people live here on purpose.
Id move there in a heartbeat! It’s so peaceful
Are you depressed? Put some life in your voice Girl!!
Of course she's depressed.....89% of North Americans are unhappy.....10% are extremely unhappy.....she needs a boyfriend and a dog.
She isn't depressed! She just is not a carbon copy of your loud mouthed crude lower 48 types! Something that probably seems odd to you due to the cultural differences. Being from there I know what I am talking about!
Gail S. ...... you sound depressed
Gail S. .... so 98% of people are the same as me,you, and this girl. You know Americans are the highest users of prescription opioids right ?
That has nothing to do with the above unless you are reading a whole lot more into it. The prescription opoid problem is just now being exposed and is considered epidemic. I follow health and wellness issues and can proudly say that I am on no meds prescription or otherwise but if you go to the Holy Bible Jesus has a lot to say about "drinking". To drink from his "rivers of living waters" is to really live, the essence of life. Try it sometime - it just might put your focus into perspective.
VERY NICE ... YOU GOT THE ADVENTURE ... CONGRATS !!! THANKS FOR THE VIEW
Well said and shown. Thank you for showing our state for what it really is...Almost Heaven!
