It may be groceries to some but it means more than you know to the people who need it the most. Thank you for showing that family that there are awesome people in the world who show love and kindness in someone's time of need.
THIS a million times! God Bless you Patricia for saying it and Bert and family for doing it!
Well said !

Well, stop crankin out kids thst you can't afford
@@kurtrussell5228 That’s another show! My thoughts for sure but, the kids need the stuff….it’s not there fault, as you know.
"Truly I tell you whatever you did for the least of my brothers and sisters you did it for me" amen and God bless!!!❤

This is exactly the verse I was thinking about! Amen and amen!!

It's not "just groceries." You touched some humans' lives in a positive way. I've never lived in Alaska, but I have been very poor and help like this would have meant the world.
Buying that amount of groceries from the native store is absolutely an amazing thing to do. That was awesome.
omg my heart just about bursts out of my chest to see what you guys do for other people. I know you say it's your support but you know, one doesn't have to do what you do. There is a special place in heaven for you and your family. You both work so hard. Well done

I wish the rest of the world would be as caring of each other as these smaller village always seem to be about their neighbors. Love seeing you pay it forward. 😍
Yeah… it’s definitely not all sunshine and rainbows in these villages. Domestic abuse and suicide is rampant in a lot of them
@@basictrainer I heard about that...
Wow. I don’t think in the years I’ve watched CZcams that I have seen a CZcamsr actually give back to the communities that they visit. The amount of groceries you gave that family made an impact that it is impossible to know if you are fortunate. I’ll be subscribed to your channel as long as it is here. Keep up the good work man.
It’s so amazing that you guys do this with your YT funds, when you could easily use it to take care of your family or buy things you want. Amidst all the terrible things happening in the world right now, you guys are definitely a bright spot. You inspire me to go out and help when and where I can as well :). Thank you for giving us something to look forward to and for always being such a strong example of a giving spirit. ❤
Oh my Candace! Thank you so much for your kind words. :-) sometimes we wonder if it’s OK to show these things on CZcams but comments like yours really do inspire us to keep going!
I mean they obviously buy the stuff they want (Vehicles, snowmobiles, their house they built - and they have every right to do that) however they're FAR MORE generous than the average youtuber, and that's what I like to see.
@@1dasd22Al I believe they used their personal funds for those things you mentioned, actually. However, I wouldn’t fault them if YT was part of their household income that they live off of. Either way, the point I was making was simply that they could do whatever they want with the money and choose to do this. It’s never crossed my mind to compare YTers giving against each other bc I don’t think it’s relevant. 🤷🏼♀️
Bless your family for helping those in need!
How kind! 🌼
When I lived in Anchorage I worked at a store called price savers. It was like Costco or Sam's club. I would pull bush orders and package them up for shipment to remote villages all over Alaska. Some of the orders were for fishing vessels and outfitters and hunting lodges.
3:06 - RIDICULOUS pricing. NEarly every item that has been shown from $3.00 to $8.00 is available in the UNITED STATES at the freaking DOLLAR TREE store for $1.25!!! Why would anyone choose to live or even visit this 3rd world "town"?
Hunting lodges should get nothing, for shooting animals

its never just groceries, its memories, its not having to worry, its full bellys. thank you for doing this.
My man, I don’t know how your channel popped up on my CZcams but because of what you did for that family you have a lifelong subscriber as long as your CZcams channel exists, much love and respect from Pomona California.
Thank you so much Fernando!
@@SomersInAlaska Keep doing what you’re doing brother spread that positivity! Let’s make it contagious.
I thought I was having a hard time with groceries for my self and my kids… we are a 1 income family my 31 yr old take care of me … he is an amazing man … still dealing with cancer issues , working
and still figuring out life since our car accident this last
Nov 2022 … I had a heart attack and my son has whiplash and a concussion … now we just walking everywhere and my son bikes it to and
from work thats 12 miles a day cause our car was completely totaled (tboned)
Omg that store owner would of been so pleased with such a big sale. Good on you for supporting the community
Thats not a big sale. You seen store. Just basics. Remember. He has to pay that 40 a pound shipping fee. Most time the store. Is there running debt. And never see a positive. Being comminty funded. Not personLly owned
Ouch! $9 for ketchup, $11.79 Mayo , 9$ for cookies and no running water! This community is incredible. And they never complain either.Great video! How kind of you to shop for that family ❤
Of course they complain there's just not much that can be done about it
Sounds like nyc
What do you expect? And most these people actually enjoy living out there and most live off the land like fishing and hunting
You guys doing stuff like this is the exact reason why I will pretty much always watch the entire ads before your videos (unless they’re excessively long and ~2 minutes) so you get that extra ad revenue 💜💜
The things you do always touches our hearts. Knowing you don't have to do them, but it is something in you that makes you such good people. No matter how small or big, it comes from your heart and love of God that is in you to do this. It is in your nature to help people. I have been blessed to know you through CZcams. Even small things can mean so much. The other day I saw a store being very kind (as they always are though) to an elderly lady that needed some extra help to unnderstand something. They took their time to help her and respect her. I left and came back with a pizza for their lunch in thanks for helping her and not making her feel bad that she couldn't figure some things out. She left with a huge smile, that someone took so much time helping her. They were shocked that anyone noticed just how happy she was that they helped her so much. They were happy to get a pizza and said I didn't have to do it, that it's how they treat everyone. I just said enjoy it and thanks for caring about people. It just makes you feel good to let people know they are doing a good job. So even little jestures are a good thing. Don't forget everyone to give a thumbs up, and even if you let the ads run it helps more! Love all the "Happy Peoples".
You have a precious heart dear one and the Lord Jesus Christ sees it and loves it 😂
That was a wonderful caring thing you did from your heart, each, everyone of us would feel better about our self's, happier if we try everyday, even if it is something as small as a phone call, stop by for a little visit, card, anything, just let someone know that you care, we can all do something, drop of a meal, etc, make a list. It means so much to the receiver, as well the giver. Thank you you dear soul for your act of kindness, that would be a special treat, very much appreciated. If we don't think that workers deserve to be rewarded it is just their job, they may think they don't deserve being rewarded. We all need to know someone cares. When someone does an act of kindness it makes you feel alive, feel joy, love in your heart, all the wonderful seances that our heavily father gave us we have them for a reason, to bring us joy, laughter, love, happiness. We were given these for a reason, to use them in our every day lives. Keep on being the wonderful person you are, caring, sharing, you will reap the benefit of a happy life, contributing to others.
I love watching your family be the hands and feet of Jesus and show the love of God in such practical ways. May the Lord continue to bless you as you bless others ♥️
Wow this makes me really take a step back and appreciate the convenience of so many things ❤ What a great community
What an extremely kind and given person you are! I'm sure that family is very thankful, and will remember you forever. Keep doing what you do, this world needs it!
You blessed this family and thank you for your help.
You guys always have me crying happy tears when you upload content like this! I only wish to be able to give back like this some day
The water in the river is free......classic. the river for me. your generosity and caring is overwhelming!
To see someone doing something positive,
and not just talking about it, makes all the difference in the world. Lord, bless you all, and bless that wonderful family.😊
I’ve been fascinated with Alaska for a number of years, a big thank you to your entire family for showing the real life side of day to day living in this beautiful and fantastic part of the world. Looking forward to seeing many more interesting videos. All the very best from Adam in England 🏴
Hello Adam in England. Love from America
The world needs more videos like this! The Somersault family is proof that God rewards tenfold! ❤
Hi no use complaining. Happy for what we get here. I come here at times to visit my grandkids. Helping with having Potlatches during Christmas time n the spring Carnival.
Thank you for your kindness. These people are true frontier pioneers, as I sit watching knowing I can drive 5 miles to multiple stores stocked with anything I coukd want or need.
These videos always make my heart swell. Knowing what that must’ve meant to the family…❤
"A community that leans on each other".....just like it ought to be. ❤
I love this type of video. Thank you for showing us the part of Alaska that remain "unknown" to rest of us. I love Alaska. It's good to learn from kind and nice people like you. You are a beautiful family. God bless you and your loved ones !! 💕 💕 👍 😇
I had no idea it could be so expensive in Alaska. My husband and I have talked about wanting to go live there remotely which probably will never happen so I will just live vicariously through videos like yours!❤
It’s so amazing how the folks help each other. I grew up in a small community and most of us were related to each other. But there wasn’t much the helping each other. More jealousy among them than anything. You giving the help of groceries, that’s awesome.
It's so awesome that you get to travel & show all of us these little towns that 99% of us in utube land would never even know existed..
Then you & your wife always try to bless a family while your there ..
True family of giving with great hearts .
Your example is what this world needs lot more of ..
Thank you & your family for all the little things helping others ..
Stay safe & God bless!!
Your family is absolutely amazing! just hearing the excitement in the children’s voices oh my heart😊 May God immensely bless you for all you do.

That was incredible! Many blessings to all those who contributed money and time to bless this family. My hat is off to the mom/aunt for her beautiful heart taking care of her nieces and nephews as well as her own. Just incredible. The prices are insane yet we understand why. Alaska is just stunningly beautiful.
Really awesome seeing the help in a small community like this and seeing how they get things done.
This video touched by heart severely. I will never complain when our overstocked stores are out of an item. I must say those people all seemed content in their little village. Somers family you walk the walk. God Bless you all.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yep, I guess we got a dose of humility handed to the rest of us spoiled consumers.
Most of America is so spoiled. And we don’t know it
Thank you Bert for buying groceries to help this family you are a true blessing.
From all of us to all of your family, thank you! You guys rock!!!
it's so kind that you do this in a way that doesn't show the faces of the people you hekp. there's so much to be said for allowing their dignity. thank you for everything you do.❤
You have a big heart. Bless you and your beautiful family. Best from Canada. ❤
Bert and family, what a truly wonderful thing you, did for that family.
But honestly that's what we're supposed to do for people in need. Wish there were more people out there with a giving heart.
God Bless you and your family. Today and always.
You are Blessing to Alaska Bert !!!!! The things we take for granted, what a wonderful community pulling together… greetings from lil ol’ England
Y’all are a true blessing to the family in need, thank you you for your kindness may God bless you y’all!
You made me cry Bert. I love how they all take care of each other. I’m curious as to what people do for a living in a tiny remote village like this one?
I was wondering the same thing. Maybe people work in the fishing industry? I can't imagine paying those prices😮 We definitely take things like buying groceries for granted here in the lower states
@@barb8335 Yes for sure among other things.
Most places like that they work to live they work off the land hunting fishing firewood they just do what they have to do to live
We freight most of our groceries and in the summer we can boat from Circle. We get a lot of heavy supplies that way. We bead, fish, hunt, and trap.
You are amazing Bert! A Godly man. A great example.
What a wonderful blessing you are. These folks we’re very happy,& grateful. That reaction keeps a person coming back to assist. Great content my friend.💯❤️👍🏾💜🙋🏽♀️✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸
It truly is “More Blessed to give than to Receive”! Blessings! 💜
That was so nice of you, Burt. Goodness, you have a heart of gold.
I am just shocked at the prices. I don’t know how these people can afford to eat and live there. That was a wonderful gift for that family. 😊
Foodstamps, hunting, growing stuff by starting in greenhouses, order in bulk for whole year for summer delivery.
Mee too, I won't complain about prices here in Ohio anymore!
@@dianebaugher3919 oh, no, you should complain and not compare with Alaska. The prices right now are much much higher than they should be. The prices were always higher in Alaska because it's remote and difficult to get to.
Reminds me of the prices in Churchill manitoba..
They can "afford it" because the US taxpayer funds it. Only a minimal amount of people in these communities have jobs, and the ones that do are municipal jobs funded by the government anyways. Otherwise they pay no taxes because they work no taxable jobs. They get dividend checks from the state depending how the tribal Corporation is set up, but most of their basic needs are funded through assistance programs, some even aimed exclusively at Natives. There's no tax base in these communities at all. It's all funded by the feds and state. Subsistence hunting and fishing come into play when the assistance money runs out.
So amazing seeing you give back to the people who welcome you into their community.
I'm so glad I got to see this. Love and blessings be upon you and all who live there.
I’m crying, I’m praying for you sir and hopefully you can continue to help people who just need someone to care.
Oh my God you are so special for doing this for the family. I know how it feels coming from a family of 14 siblings my parents worked very very very hard. God
Bless you for doing this you are An angel to that family. God Bless You
I’ve spent some time living in a few of these Alaskan villages, it truly is a different world. The community is tiny, but tight knit. Everyone is very friendly and willing to help each other, and don’t tend to stick their noses too deeply in your business so long as it’s not bothering anybody.
Very expensive, very cold, very wholesome.
It really warms my heart to see so much kindness being given out may God bless you and your family for all of this
Thank you for doing this for others. This is what life is about, helping each other. As for my guess, I said $800 and thought I was going to be way low, especially after seeing the price of the steaks. Thanks again Bert for doing that for that family!!
Watching this video reminds me of when I was in the ARMY, years ago. 2 guys said to me that they were going to ALASKA and I said for what, they said because they wanted to ski and I told them that they were crazy, me coming from Hawaii. There is no snow except in the volcano which is very high elevation
I'll take the North Shore any day. I grad Leilehua High School in Wahiawa, Class of '70. GO MULES !! IMUA !! Shoulda stayed in Wahiawa...
I’m moving from California to Alaska in July for a year, just amazed wat u guys do, great job, love the channel and everything.
That is such a nice thing to do. I live in a small village in the Yukon and we only have 1 store. When I first came here, the store looked a lot like this one, but a new one was built and it's so much better. However, we could use a little variety store or something. Thank you for doing this. You're an angel.
This is why I watch y'all. I know there are positive and negative reactions to showing this type of kindness but I believe it doesn't matter what the face value is. You made a difference to that family. THAT is all that matters. Those kids may one day grow up and because of your kindness, they may choose to serve others in some way. And a life of service is a life of kindness in many ways. Keep up the kindness happy people!
How beautiful to give like that. So wonderful! God Bless you for helping others!
You are awesome. THANKS for supporting families that need it!!! 😘
Bert, you guys are amazing. Thank you for all you and your family do. I love that you always put something fun, like candies into your grocery hauls, thinking of children. God bless you all.
$800 of groceries is huge for a big family trying to survive day to day. Thank you so much for doing this and all of your other acts of kindness! Like you said, some of the prices seem crazy high and other, for the lighter things like TP, not so bad.
@@Nikes62 yea now fly them to the village with $40 a pound of transport fees and see how much that adds up

You are truly a Gift from God 💯❤️🙏🇨🇦
Great stuff guys! and its never "just groceries" to people who need it! what you guys do makes me have just a little more faith in people than i normally do.
I lived in Alaska, and have visited many villages in the past. The prices were always shocking. I now live in the lower 48 as they say, in Colorado, and the real shock is that the prices you just showed us from this small remote village are not too far off from the prices we are paying for stuff in the stores today! Not all products, but many are very close to what you showed. Shoping for a family is such a good blessing, and it is such a joy to see people helping each other out these days, as times get tougher for us all.
Y’all are an absolutely amazing family! You do so much for so many. Y’all will be blessed yourselves! Love you videos and love your family!! Never know how much it means to the families y’all help!!
Your family is the sweetest most generous loving families I have ever seen much love to you all

It shows how much we take for granted here. I’m used to just going to my choice of grocery stores to get even just one item. Or when we make a grocery list, we’ll end up buying things not on the list. But over there, definitely have to stick to a list, and that’s if those items are available. I imagine that nothing gets wasted there.

This is the most amazing video I've ever seen...what you did for that family 😭.
This is coming from the mom of a family who had to sell and move from our beautiful home last week because we weren't able to make ends meet anymore in that area. But we are in good shape, just going to a more affordable town. That family knows real hardship with that big beautiful family and those prices. Thanks for letting us hear the children's excitement. This video was a real joy. I won't be complaining about anything for a good while!❤
I came across one of your videos about a year or so ago and I have enjoyed watching them. You and your family are the most loving, caring and giving people. When you guys do the "Acts of Kindness" and buy for other families it warms my heart. I wish there were more people like you. My husband and I always talk about taking a trip to Alaska one day, so when we do I'm going to look y'all up and let y'all know so we can have dinner!! (Yes y'all!! I'm from the south and we say y'all) haha Take care and be blessed as always! Much love from South Carolina!
