We are a family of 6 living life in North Pole, Alaska! Where Santa Claus House is right down the street! We love spending time together as a family, having fun, learning through homeschooling, growing in our faith, and building our forever home! We are all in it again here in California. Though tragic and terrifying it promotes such a turn over in the Forrest for new growth and rejuvenation.

I live in Ruidoso New Mexico. Our whole village/ town was evacuated from a major Forest Fire. By the grace of God my house was saved. I was evacuated 10 days.
Prayers for everyone especially the ones in the path or battling the fires!

Calgary, AB, Canada here - smoke can be horrible here from fires in British Columbia and Alberta fires. So thick going outside is a very risky for asthmatics. Last summer a little boy with asthma in BC died from smoke blowing into their area. Think when a forest fire reaches residences and burns them = chemical smoke. Very very dangerous for anyone with compromised lungs. ❤❤❤ to all of them.
VFD Bert - variable frequency drive.
Planes have a glide ratio so they can glide a bit. If you still have two wings and no engine the plane can glide a little ways. And the pilots seem quite seasoned up there.

I have 3 Sisters who use this program in my church. Had books and homeschooling stuff donated. They went through it and and found 3 years of stuff.
Here in New Mexico we are dealing with fire and flooding because of the fires. My prayer are for everybody dealing with hardship right now.

My babies are 2 & 3 I just quit corporate America to stay home with them and we are definitely going to look into Abecca because of yall. Your values align with what we want for our kids and think it would be an awesome opportunity. We also have a lot of homeschool communities now in TN so I don’t even question their socialization ❤ I am so excited for these next steps, you guys are a huge inspiration for me and gave me the confidence to do this for my family
I love ABEKA curriculum. I taught ABEKA curriculum at a private church run school for 7 years. So comprehensive and sequential. Wouldn't hesitate to teach it again if given the opportunity.
No need to 'worry' or 'be concerned' about social skills. This is a stereotype from those not familiar with home schooling. IMO, most home school children have more social skills than then public school counterparts. Why? Because while the children are in public school, they only contact those in their own grade (that is, if they can look up from their phone) While the Homeschooled children interact with others of all ages through co-ops, volunteering and when they get old enough, part time jobs as well as community groups and church groups (when applicable)
I was taught with that curriculum in a private church school and it was pretty easy to understand. Usually once the girls in the religion reach 17 years old they are invited to teach at different schools across the us kids without college degrees teaching the young ones 😂

Wow! engine failure? trapped by fires? electrocuted? sounds like your having an 'interesting' weekend! Fires were an issue when I was stationed there. The smoke Jumpers were really busy this time of the year. Thunder storms are an issue but so were campers and tourists that were not very careful. Hope you have a better week!

Don’t really get fires here in the U.K. in the summer unless someone deliberately starts one , the one thing i have noticed with the U.K. summers is when we do get heat they seem to be hotter than ever , and it’s gets very humid and sticky here which isn’t pleasant and personally I hate , I can’t wait for the autumn, falll to arrive .
It’s fun when you include extended family clips. Emily and family will be missed. Nana too.

I flew out of Yellowknife and Hay River with "Buffalo Joe". This guy had many many flights under his belt and I knew that he had experienced everything possible that could happen. I was never worried about flying with him (and his plane was over 50 years old). Give me experienced bush pilots every time. Hope they get the fires under control.
Stay safe!! We got the smoke in Ohio last summer from Canada and it was very thick for a good week if not longer. Was not fun. Praying!

P.S the fires here in California are getting a head start, but it's early in the year. They get really bad next month.

Well it gets crazy with fires I remember fires in 77 were really bad 1.3 million acres were burning I was crewing Chinooks running fire crews Ak smoke jumpers even the military soldiers were out fighting fires it was so bad it looked like fog in Fairbanks North Pole area the smoke was so bad even delaying aircraft from taking off on time.
I pray you all have a great time in Arizona it is hot hot hot lol. Bert I have had that electrical shock myself had a hot wire cross over on a mobile home wow does that get your heart pumping. God bless you all. 😊
I can sympathize with you concerning the fires. Prayers for everyone’s safety especially the hotshot crews, smokejumpers and all the fireman who face it head on.

God had his hands on that plane Bert. If I was on that plane and the pilot said what he said to you, I would have said in a very shaky voice “please let me out”. I don’t like to fly so I’m thankful that when I worked I didn’t have a job where I had to fly alot. And I’ll be praying for you Ak. folks about those fires. Be safe Somers

I live in Idaho and people say the same thing about fires here. The fire were not this bad . The forest rangers are starting the fire to clear the undergrowth. It is hard to control the larger ones get out of hand. When it is lighting it is God clearing the overgrowth and bringing new life. Fire are dangerous but also very good!

2001 we drove to Alaska and while we were there they had 5 different fires. The fires caused a lot of the animals to come out to the roadways.

I can remember fires every summer, soon as the temp hit 70 degress here came the fires snd smoke. Depending on the wind if the smoke comes into town or not. One year there were over 1000 fires burning in the state. I have breathing issues so it was very difficult with the thick smoke to breath. What I found really helped was wintergreen life saver candy, helps open the air way. I look for the biggest bag I can find and they come individually wraped so keep them in my purse and car. 😊 This too will pass and be lost in time. Blessings ❤
I'm in Washington and I don't remember there being smoke growing up either. Now it happens every single year, "wildfire season". I'm going to make sure we get an air purifier soon.
Lightening struck our ranch today burning 30 acres! It burned some hay, my grandson had just cut, burned some fencing but didn’t take the new fencing from the last fire! PTL ! We need to keep our country in prayer!

I live near Sierra Nat Forrest and we have a lot of wildfires right now. One has burned over 11,000 acres and is 0% contained.
