This is a cover band that does incredible Chicago versions.They are from Russia.

Chicago's music will never sound dated.
Incredible production, especially since the lead singer, Serge, has his piece recorded in Kiev while the rest is in Moscow. Brilliant!

Two nights ago I had the wonderful experience of seeing Leonid and Friends at House of Blues in New Orleans. Go see them! They are amazing!
I hope and pray that Serge will be able to someday again be with the group. This group would not be the same without his talent. 🙏
Saw these guys in concert in LA. If you close your eyes you’d swear you were watching a Chicago concert. And the female singer is absolutely beautiful.
Just saw them on Nov. 18, 2023, in LA. Absolutely fantastic. Energy was off the charts. They sounded as good as Chicago did when they debuted more than 50 years ago. It's definitely worth seeing when they come to your town.

The musicianship is top level. The performance is not simple mimicry but is homage at the same top level. The passion and energy are superb. This is brilliant AF.

They are amazing, and Leonid transcribes all the music himself. Ksenya is incredibly smart and talented as well as beautiful! And give a LOT of credit to their video editors, excellent job!

Harri I’m 70 years old and I’ve seen Chicago live 8 times; including 4 times when the late great Terri Kath was still alive. Try as they did many times Chicago was never able to find a lead guitarist to equal Terry. Jimi Hendrix himself once said that Terry was a better guitarist than he was.
Well, do yourself a favor and listen to L&F’s lead guitarist play Chicago’s 25 or 6 to 4.
Sergey Kashirin is the reincarnation of Terry. It’s an incredible performance. Please give it a listen.

Had the privilege of experiencing L&F at the Carolina Theatre in Durham on May 12th. I was completely awestruck!

I’ve been eagerly anticipating a chance to see LNF in concert. My friends; the wait is over! They’re playing a show at an historic theater near me next June. I turned all my friends on to Leonid and they all fell in love with the sound. Careful though. If you like one video, you’re likely to want to watch them all…

I really dig your reactions to my favorite band, Leonid and Friends! They’re like “diamonds in my ears.”
When Leonid first began creating the extensive ensemble of
musicians and singers to form Leonid & Friends, he was able
to find the most gifted people in all of Russia.......with the
exception of finding anyone able to emulate Peter Cetera's lead
vocals which are so vital in so many of the songs of Chicago.
Not one Russian was acceptable and then, luckily, he received a
vocal tape from Kyiv in Ukraine. That is when he realized that
Serge Tiagniryadno was the final piece of the puzzle. Also, not
enough is said about the lead guitarist, also named serge, who
is on par with the great Terry Kath's guitar playing. The drummer
Ivan is clearly world class and has been commended for his
excellence by the original Chicago drummer. What is amazing
concerns the fact that Leonid, a master of music in his own right,
needed to scour a complete country (Russia), as well as having to
delve into the neighboring country of Ukraine (for lead singer Serge),
whereas the actual group Chicago was able to come up with their
world class group of numerous musicians and three vocalists all from
'close by' neighborhoods strictly limited to the city of Chicago. Both
'Chicago' and 'Leonid & Friends' leave nothing left to be desired when
they are heard, for all are beyond exceptional, but let us not realize
the small pool of people Chicago had to draw talent from, which also
included masterful writers in the group, whereas as great as Leonid &
Friends are at presenting their covers, they are still covers with all the
original components being borrowed (emulated) from Chicago.
The baby-boomer generation lived in the best of all worlds in the 50's and 60's, when everything was Up, Up and Away before peaking and spiraling back down (indeed, crashing) from the 70's until today. They were given every opportunity to excel and many of them did just that. A group like Chicago could be found in every town. Yet, even Chicago can no longer find the qualified personnel to recreate themselves in present-day USA. The pendulum has swung.

Chicago s probably my all time favorite group. Had their early albums. Yes this cover version is remarkable and sounds clearer in general. Probably due to the advanced technology and the very immense talent of these musicians. They all appear extremely gifted technically ( musically ) and professionally. Leonid has assembled a large group of amazing artists who do great justice to the also amazing group Chicago.😊👍🔥

No disrespect to Chicago at all, they are and always will be one of my Top 10 faves, but this group 100% does it as well as the original.

I've been following this group for a few years. While they're quite possibly better than the present-day version of Chicago, I wouldn't say they're better than the original.
Been sharing Leonid & Friends with my broadcaster friends since their very first CZcams video. They arrived in the USA yesterday for their spring tour. I’ll be seeing them perform June 18 in Illinois. My third time! They are AWESOME!❤️
They sound so American when singing, but heavy accent when interviewed😀

i found that some time ago...i absolutely loved it...and i agree, it was fantastic and i thought better than Chicago lol...the band back in HS played this song during halftime...yeh...im old, that was like 75-76?
Harri, I still strongly recommend Leonid and Friends cover of Blood, Sweat, and Tears Spinning Wheel. Different lead singer.
Their version of Chicago's Dialogue Parts 1 & 2 is amazing as well.

Ok Hari... I know you like the percussion section in songs so, Try "I'm a Man" The original was by Spencer Davis group and covered by Chicago VERY well indeed! But these folks knock it out of the park! The drum solo is superb in every way! Trust me on this one. :)
That drummer is considered one of the greatest session drummers in the world! He’s a beast!

This band also do really cool versions of both Steely Dan and Earth Wind and Fire. Well worth a listen.

Such an amazing and proper live version of a great sounding song, from Chicago! Super good cover band, spot on about everything!!!
Leonid and Friends absolutely do establish their street cred with this bang-on reproduction of Chicago's masterpiece. Still, I recommend hearing one of the original recordings, because even skilled pros like L&F cannot match the absolute tightness of Chicago, or the beautifully nuanced blues notes in the vocals. Their harmonies were so sweet, it made me shiver. A song comparable to classics through the ages.

What's sad is that they cover an American band so beautifully... they're from Russia, and it just seems like music should be able to bring all the people of the world together. It hurts my heart that Russia and Ukraine are in that situation. Let music touch your soul. And share it with anyone and everyone and maybe the world can love each other.
I think the population, in general, doesn't want war it's the people running the country that does.
I hope you will also will react to their tribute to Chicago's 'Old Days' -
Man I cannot believe I just missed them they were here in May in an intimate setting well it's very good size club right here in Birmingham Alabama but I didn't know about these guys until you turn me on to him today but thank you keep up the good work man love your actions
I have been listening to Chicago for 30 years, when I first heard these guys I thought it was Chicago, sounds almost identical to the original recorded version

Next try their version of 25 or 6 to 4, also big fan of their Dialogue Parts 1 & 2. To see there expansion into other groups, suggest, Vehicle (by The Ides of March), September (by Earth, Wind & Fire), and a killer cover of My Old School (by Steely Dan). Have seen Leonid and Friends twice in concert and they do not disappoint. Enjoy your trip through catalog. And by all means compare them to the Chicago versions.

Leonid and Friends is a great cover band,but what makes Chicago absolutely great is that Leonid needs about twenty people to recreate what seven people in Chicago could master.
