Just goes to show how there's always a faster car...to most people including myself a base corvette is fast enough. .this dude has a heavily modded z06 and still gets beat up top..yet there's a dude in a civic out there who would destroy that mustang..there's so much fast shit out there you have to love your car for what it is and just accept the fact your not gonna win them all..enjoy your cars..aslong as they put a smile on your face

Yeah so doesn't matter whos faster lol will always be someone faster, unless you're the dudes from Texas with like a 3000hp GTR haha. This channel is a good comparison of showing what mods do to a stock car. Took all those mods on a c7z to keep up with a lightly modded Gt500 and the difference in MT vs auto. That's what I got out of it at least.

I think I'm most impressed with how fast a GT500 is with minimal mods. As a Z06 owner with heads, Cam and headers it completely changes the vehicle whereas that GT500 is probably very similar to stock
Yeah the predator motor is definitely a killer platform.
Again all these are assumptions. We don’t know how mooded those cars are no even HP are being disclosed here or tune. To me that Z looks too slow for those moods something doesn’t add up.

@@TheSpartanguru hard to go full e on the z06 due to high side limitation. I have stage 2 cam, ported heads, headers, 2.3 pulley, intake, DSx low side pump. Tuner said he got full e. Car fell like shit at high RPM, felt choked. I went to e60 car felt smooth. I'm going to take it to another tuner for a 2nd opinion. But I may need new injectors to go full e which will be another 4k
@@MichaelGreco nice set up, I also have stage 2 Cam, kong ported blower. Running full E and car feels great. Running Meth so that helps

I mean predator sounds a lil more exotic but to each their own. LTs so sound more classic and throatier. Both are crazy
@@marcozuniga1186 I'm a big fan of the GT500, but I just wish they were significantly lighter and sounded a lot better. Personally I think they sound like ass, but that's my own opinion and sound quality is certainly subjective... With that said, the LS/LT has one of the best sounds of any cross plane crank V8 IMO.

Z06 baby!🤤😍😈🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪. That stang ain't stock. Had a 20 gt500 till it blew up at 11,000 miles as per usual. Now have a 19 ZR1 and best car ever! Also working on a 15 Z06 auto doing a 2650 build! Chevrolets LT platform is incredible just like the LS!

Despite of Z06 changing gears as fast as possible, the 2nd race is a very clear example of 2 cars being almost the same with performance but it coming down to an automatic vs a manual transmission. Automatic transmission just seem to have that little edge and you can see GT500 pulling away every time the Z06 shifted a gear!
i hate to be that guy but the z06 shift were okay at best he can use a bit more driver mod and have this race won for sure he should look into correcting his FFS he seems to either be letting out or there is an issue with the flat foot shift

Agreed. We are talking about shifts that are a bit faster than the average eye blink. The abilities of the DCT to help keep power on going forward during blazing fast shifts. The car is heavy but the Shelby is no joke in a roll race.
@@richardmodglin3900 that’s right brother. Off the top of my head DCT shifts at 60-80ms??? Blink of an eye is 300ms… dct shifts about 5 times faster than the blink of an eye. WTF BATMAN. Literally insane

GT500 is CRAZY! I prefer 1968 Fastback Mustang as the only mustang I like, but the modern GT500 gets an exception for me. The car is amazing.

Never been a fan of Mustang or ford but have to give credit where it’s due . Those GT500 are almost like the GTR in that they are fast stock .. when modded there’s not much on the street that can beat them they pretty much rule , and the Mustang is a lot cheaper to mod. The fact a heavily modded C7Z06 which is 1000lbs lighter still got walked even on the 2nd gear pull .. that’s shows what a beast the GT500 is . I’d be pissed if I was the Z06 owner having spent 7k on an aftermarket blower plus all the money on the other mods and still lost . I’m shopping for a C7Z now .. . Thinking maybe that’s not the car to drop 80k on lol
About the same amount of hp but a huge difference in weight despite the fact that c7 is a manual the gt500 is a beast collector car that will be worth a huge amount of money one day base on its performance stock and the potential once modified. Simply iconic

The DCT in the GT500 makes a big difference it’s nuts with just bolt ons they make stupid power and I have a C7Z but I love both
Z06 manual is what did it in from 3-4th even tho the driver was spot on and also the Z06 might have lost both races it DEFINITELY WON THE EXHAUST DEPT!! WOW THAT SOUNDS AWESOME !!♥️

@GSEXR GIXXABWOY there's no way that c7 can match a dct, but in second gear it was clear that it had enough torque to keep up. If the c7 was auto this would have been a different outcome for sure. At the very least, at least a closer race

You got to know how to drive that z06 as a z06 owner from 60 it’s second gear that’s the sweet spot that about where you shift from first to second and you can run it up to about 95 mph he didn’t do that in the second race he almost shifted immediately if he didn’t shift so soon it probably would have been neck and neck

Auto C7Z is quicker for rolls than a manual C7Z, I sold my modded c7Z manual and picked up an auto C7Z lol

Z06 is beautiful
People don’t understand how much of a disadvantage you are in driving a manual vs a DCT that shifts gears in milliseconds . All the GT500 driver has to do is keep his foot on the gas and steer . The Manual C7Z driver must not only do those other two things but also manually shift gears . It’s especially more of a pain in the C7Z because 3rd and 5th are so close together you can miss 3rd easily and go into 5th by accident or even go back into first by mistake . The C6Z transmission is much better for shifting into the next gear cleanly without mistakes . My great grandmother can drive that GT 500 as well as the owner . It’s a nice car but DCT cars take no skill whatsoever to race . Never forget that .
