@@Slicks-N-Skinnies nah he just fell out of boost slightly, I guarantee you the 500 has more top end. I completely agree the McLaren did pull ever so slightly after 160 but the 500 needs to hit 180/190 and I bet it starts pulling away from the McLaren. You can see it when the 500 truly hits max rpm in each gear how it pulls

Absolutely insane. Did NOT expect it to be that close. That mclaren has to be pushing a bit more than 700, cuz that Shelby should’ve got him in the top end having almost 900 to the wheels.
I’m also VERY impressed at how quiet mclaren was inside. That gt500 is frikin loud, and as soon as the mvlaren closed his windows, it was as if he was cruising along at 45 on a quiet back country road. Beautifully made

I think you're just seeing how 1000 pounds weight difference and better aerodynamics effects a car
Well it’s a small engine with turbos so it’s not gonna be as loud as an n/a or supercharged car.

@@nickadkins7765 you, and everyone else, missed the point that I specially mentioned. The gt500 has a loud exhaust. The mclaren is driving right next to it while the gt500 is at WOT. The window closed, and it was quiet. It is not about aero bud. It’s about the fact that it was designed to be comfortable. Also don’t see what weight has to do with anything. Rolls are heavier than the gt500, yet more quiet than the mclaren

@@zo6zr1joey52 ok finally what tire shine are u using also I'm at 917whp . I have a 2.7 pulley , fore invasion triple pump , id1700, kooks ,lethal race pipes, borla, Cai , tb . E85 tune was going to get a Whipple but got Motech and twins and probably going built motor soon
I thought for sure the 12 y/o McLaren with only a E85 tune & DP would get walked by a car or two given being down almost 200 hp, despite the weight difference! Even those old ones are still pretty fast!!!
An Extremely close race, but the GT500 appeared to keep it's nose out in front of the $239,000 McLaren. Comparing cost and overall performance. I'm a big fan of the GT500.
that MP4 12 C is not a $239,000 car. More like 105 to 130k

He's planning on selling it. I spoke with him a few weeks ago. His transmission went out a few months ago and that's why he didn't come back out. It's replaced but it's going to be sold soon unfortunately. But... I got another mk4 race coming up soon! 😉

The mclaren is a very quick car I’m surprised at the results. At A standing start I would say the mustang would loose but who knows I’d like to see it. Great action I enjoyed the video!
