Even though Z06 has a TCU tune that 5th gear is still like climbing a mountain. I had a supercharged C7 A8 and had same issue. McLaren is the faster car here though
They did such a horrible job with the cooling system on the LT4 as well. Shame.

Those in the comments of the other races saying the McLaren is over 700 horsepower and the Z06 is over 750; this should be a clear depiction that they actaully make the power they stated, and not more. Great video AG!

A McLaren 720 which dynos high 600's rwhp stock can run high to mid 9's with mid 140's trap speeds. If the owner is correct about this MP4 being in the high 600's its definitely a mid 9's car on a good night

@@keanubaca2940 lol yep i know this already. They range from high 600's to low 700's rwhp. I was just going off an actual dyno i've seen. Also they can run better than 9.9 stock. Just check dragtimes channel as he owned a stock McLaren 720 and ran it many times. They can dip into the mid 9's on a good night
Z06 held its own. Those McLarens are nasty. I'm about to have similar mods, in the shop now. Stage 2 cam, ported heads, headers, dsx lid, dsx low side pump and flex fuel. Already have Corsa exhaust, 2.3 upper and afe Cia.

The gearing in the vette makes the motor bog in that higher gear just alittle shorter ratio and the car would be so much better up top.
Manuals have better gearing and fixes that problem.
What they shouldâve done is put the A10 in the z06 but it didnât fit thatâs why the Camaro got it đ
Could you mention the Torque numbers with the Horsepower numbers? Torque can make a difference also. Love your videos btw!

It's not worth going faster than 160 on the streets, all it takes is for one car to pull oig in front of you or cut you off at those speeds and your a gone'r.

I think the last run the lt4 was heat soaked. They heat soak bad. So I think if the 2nd race was no anti lag it would have been closer than how the third race went.

very good race on this one. vette can hang depending on the gear theyâre starting with. but in the higher gear it seems like the power of the vette just stay mid peak while the P1 keep power continues to pull up. but regardless good race! nice build on Vette đ€đŒ

A couple questions. Is the C7Z driver manually shifting? Wouldn't this be the slower option vs putting the car in performance shift mode?

The wheels in back are 19s.
It's always nice to see this car putting in work..the MP4 12c are known to be very unreliable and one of the worse mcalrens when it comes to maintenence..this thing seems to love the mods and honestly it's so cool to see one running so strong and back to back..a proper owner who actually cares and keeps on top of his car..props to who ever tuned that thing if it wasn't DME I'd be surprised and if it isn't who ever did is a fantastic tuner and the E85 deff helps..in my opinion this and the P1 are the best sounding mclarens..my favorite is the 675LT in Mantis green but they sound like garbage compared to this..if you can't hear what this sounds like in the video just look up mp4 12c exhaust sounds and youl hear what I mean

Dude that 5th gear is what kills the Camaro and corvettes really bad. The fact the 10 speed splits 5th gear into 5-6 tells you that its just a weird ass gear ratio
