The point isn't to write meaningful, deep, story songs. It's to express emotions and perform with the show. Using different languages brings us closer together. You say that English is only civilised? Are you serious? Half the population speaks Chinese, Spanish, etc. Just the fact that you don't understand those languages doesn't mean only uncivilised people speak them.

for those interested, the music of France is not in french but in breton. It's a regional language of Celtic culture and I think it's a wonderful choice for Eurovision (sorry for the bad English I use gg trad)

And to be honest, I love how it sounds when it's sung but I find it awful when it's spoken.

Why does nobody talk about France. It is so underrated af as they song in a language called breton which popular in the west of france and uses EDM type beat mashed up with a celtic/pagan feel. This will be my favourite Eurovision song

This year has some great songs but (as a musician) only a few really made an unique impact on me and I'm realising how spoiled we were last year with originality

I liked Finland, Greece, Macedonia, Poland, Switzerland, Ukraine and (surprisingly) UK but last year I added so many eurovision songs to my playlist 😅 it was really nice to see Ukraine with more fusion music, I did an entire project on fusing traditional and modern music styles in school. I do really appreciate so many countries entering with their native languages tho, it's great that it's not just everyone singing in English.

It's brilliant, I didn't even know the Eurovision happened until my friend from the Netherlands told me (I'm Australian). Bulgaria, Slovenia, San Marino and especially Denmark and Finland were my favourites. But I also must commend Moldova, their's was wild in the best way possible.
Honestly my absolute favorite is Portugal!! 16:26, out of all the songs that wanted to appear emotional, this actually moved my heart, it sounds beautiful

Fun fact: This is the first year in Eurovision history that not a single phrase is in French. Although France usually sends songs in French, in the 3 occasions they didn't there was always a country to back them up:
In 1996, France's song was in Breton, but Switzerland sent a song in French instead.
In 2008, France's song was in English, but still contained words in French. Furthermore, Ireland's song included many languages, including French.
In 2011, France's song was in Corsican, but Lithuania's song contained French as well.
Also, France did not participate in 1974 or 1982, but Belgium sent a song in French both years, also Luxembourg and Monaco in 74 and Switzerland in 82.
Furthermore, it is the first year ever that Latin is used, in Serbia's song. The only other occasion as far as I am aware was Hungary 2017, but that was just the song title, which was never pronounced in the song itself.

France has it good this time! The song is in Breton a Celtic language from western France spoken by less than200 000 people. It’s good!!

But sadly, singing in the native languages doesn't help the countries get more votes, it certainly didn't help Denmark last year when we sang in danish

l'Eurovision ce n'est pas que les langues nationales c'est fini les années 50 60 on est en 2022 il faut être moderne et il faut évoluer !!! Et heureusement qu'il y a des chansons en anglais car c'est un peu la langue que tout le monde "parle" et qui est une langue universelle pour délivrer un message ! Vive l'anglais !!!
