Is it possible to TRAVEL YOURSELF HAPPY? Let's find out !
We are the Cookes, Nicola, and Nigel. We love to travel. In 2018 we bought and converted a VW Transporter van and spent 3 years traveling around the UK and Ireland. At the time we also travelled with our beloved cat, Guinness. She was 20. Sadly we lost Guinness in Feb of 2020 and then well the rest of the world went to pot.
After a few 3 month trips to northern Spain and France, In early 2023 we sold our property back in Ireland and hit the road full time. For the remainder of 2023 we explored Spain, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.
2024 plans are being formed and we look forward to bringing your guys along for the ride.
This channel will primarily focus on our travels, with the odd smattering of photography and food thrown in for good measure.

Please don't apologise for this vlog. It was excellent. I said to my wife, they're good, she said, " Yeah, they're real" I suffer badly from health anxiety from I was 23 when my mother died and I'm now 66 and still wake in the middle of the night fearful of what might never happen. I loved what you said about selling up, leaving the good job, and going for it. Some random guy wants to buy our house here in Spain, just out of the blue, our next move could be on a narrowboat or even vanlife, who knows, who cares. That vlog, To go roam, was scary just to watch this morning 😮 they are amazing too. Anyway, I've rambled too much, your vlog was very helpful, thanks. People tell me I'm a very healthy hypochondriac, but I'm so fearful now, I don't go to the doc in case they say I have something 😂 thanks again and sorry for the ramble. Thanks for being honest with your struggles .. I (Nicola) can relate to everything you are saying. One thing I've come to realise only very recently is that on those very bad days we are at our strongest and bravest as we make it though. If we can do that then we can pretty much do anything .. I really hope you find the courage to move on in a new direction and that you find your own moments of peace ... It may not be 24x7 but there will be moments ... Perhaps catch up on the road one day :)

This was a good very honest chat! I want to give you both a hug but especially Nicola. You are a very lovely couple. Many of us have fears, mine is also flying and I’m the worst passenger in a car/vehicle. Life has shaped us but I also face those fears and refuse to let them stop me. You inspire people with your vlogs, you’re great and I’m off to Norway today 😊. When r u going to get that sausage dog?

Go live your life in Greece, face your fears whenever you can but I think you'll have a great time. And if not, come back to Spain or France or Italy. Plenty more to see there yet❤

I see the underlying anxiety in your vlogs. Hopefully there will be an occurrence or calming event that will allow your fears to subside. Right now there there is something happening around you that has nothing to do with fear. Fear can be a fairy tale that we script for many reasons. The key is identifying those reasons and finding solutions. But then I might be talking out of my arse. I have little fear, Ican only imagine.

We are coming to realise that Fear may be part of our lives for the foreseeable but learning to live / deal with it rather than let it overcome us ... for sure some of the practical fears that we had about coming to Greece have been short lived .. instead we have found little slices of paradise ..
