Princess Peach must save the play as she takes the spotlight in her very own action game. Princess Peach and some loyal Toads are about to enjoy a performance at the Sparkle Theater when the wicked Grape and the Sour Bunch bust on the scene to flip the script! These bad actors kidnap the stars of each play, terrorize the other cast and crew, and leave Peach trapped inside as they steal the show. To curtain-call this tragedy, Peach must team up with the theater's guardian, Stella. Using the power of Sparkle, Peach must take the stage of each play inside the Sparkle Theater and transform to match the performance. Each transformation changes up the action and comes with its own abilities for Peach to use against Grape’s evil acting troupe. Only by clearing all the floors and rescuing the star actors can she truly save the theater! Play like a princess and transform into leading roles with showstopping abilities. Fend off the Sour Bunch as Swordfighter Peach as you slash and dodge attacks-en garde! Whisk up some tasty treats as Patissiere Peach and see just how quickly you can decorate a cake. Wrangle your foes with a lasso as Cowgirl Peach, hurl buses and slam foes with super strength as Mighty Peach, synchronize your spins with other performers as Figure Skater Peach, and more! Each transformation gives Peach a dramatic entrance and the abilities she needs to take back each play.

The animation team deserves awards for this game. I love how every single transformation has it's own unique running and idle animations, as well as jumps and combat etc. Expertly done stuff that a lot of people will overlook
For a 2024 game though that’s not that impressive
My daughter is the target. She's 6 years old and she's never been more excited for a game ever.
Hey and my 11 year old niece loves the game, so it seems to fit the young feminine target audience!
. great to here. It's cool to see big companies make gaming accessible for girls
My wife never would have given games a chance if it wasn't for 2B being the lead in nier Automata. Feel like that's common
@@CalebratedGamer93 💯
My daughter and Niece hated it.
I found most people that like this game are mid 30s age men like me lol
I paid $60 for a game that took me around 3 hours to finish >:(? It should only be $40 tops. Yeah I didn't do everything but the extra stuff just felt like padding. I don't like padding unless it's really fun. In Breath of The Wild and Tears of the Kingdom I felt like I had to do every shrine which I did. I felt like there needed to be more levels because it was too short.
Peach had her own DS game before this. I actually took the time to complete that one.
I'm also a man in my 30s who decided to play this. Am I the target audience?
Wario Land Shake It and Yoshi's Wooly and Crafted World are better games. I didn't finish Epic Yarn. Maybe I'll hack that game onto my 3DS.
Bowser is tired of causing trouble.
The detective stages seems to be lacking info needed to solve something. It is trial and error.
When I screw up I just continue because I don't want to redo it. I didn't feel the need to collect everything and you don't need to in order to finish the game. The extra stuff feels pointless.
I didn't complete Mario Wonder but I did finish every stage minus some of the bonus ones because they were a pain.
20:06 I like the dress with a floral pattern and city design.
I tried finding the ninjas for a little bit and quickly lost interest. I'm not playing through these stages again. The ninjas that are underwater don't even swim. Do they have iron boots?
I feel like Peach needs a Bowser equivalent nemesis to be taken more seriously Mario has Bowser and Luigi has the King Boo in his Mansion game series. Something to really help focus her as a character and give her more to do in games.
Like, Wa-Peach, or Waru-Peach?
she literally just got one in this game
@@tiago_hbwho?
@tiago_hb that’s what I was thinking. Grape.
Yeah, but this one feels too much like a one off. @tiago_hb
Still kinda in disbelief that the switch is starting to sail into the sunset. It feels like it just came out...
I know. But still. Cant wait for what comes next
Despite being almost a decade old
It feels weird. Can't wait for the switch 2, but still. Lots of good memories with my switch.
You know what they say the more you get older the more time moves fast
You must've had a really long nap..
It is a bit shallow, but my wife and I really enjoy it.
It's never shallow to just enjoy a game for what it is.
@@SirSagaSageI think he meant the game seems a bit shallow. But I fully agree, enjoy games for what they are: entertainment.
we need Mystical Ninja 64 on The Completionist! that series is so underrated in the states and i LOVED playing the N64 game.
The first one was a bit... not great in my opinion, but the second one was really great.
I love this game. The costume powers are fun, I love the stage play esthetic, and Peach finally has a chance to shine. Sure, it's a bit unpolished and overpriced, but hopefully this was just a test to see how a Peach game would do, and now they'll start work on a bigger, better adventure for her.
Yeah a game that takes 3 hours to finish is not worth $60.
As much as I like the creative environment here, I'm just sad people don't remember the first super princess Peach game on DS
Probably better that game was forgotten. It was kinda sexist
Hey, I remember it! First game I ever fully completed - I was 6 or 7 years old approx. 🎉 Still got a copy that I keep with my DS ❤
@@Axecon1nah it attracted a certain demographic that loved it! Girlie girl games as a genre was big. Girls that didn’t like those games simply didn’t play them. Wasn’t sexist.
@@Axecon1 that's the best part. 😌
@@Axecon1not at all.
Crazy to await how Peach will be represented in the next Smash game. Cliche yeah, but her being able to change forms mid combat as abilities would be really interesting after being balanced and what not
I'm waiting to see her new skins
A peach echo with down+b being transform would be quite fun
My little girl loves this game! It's a nice change to have a major studio release an action platformer aimed at little girls!
The one thing that disappointed me, was them not bringing back Toadsworth. Where he at!!??
While this isnt the best game ever, i have to disagree with you on the whole story premise. Its literally peach, who was invited to the theater to watch some plays, stepping into the main roles to help save the day. Thats who a true princess should be, and what people should absolutely expect from peach. Also love some, if not most of her dresses
I hope Nintendo keeps trying goofy game ideas in the future
it's not that this game is bad it's just that they still haven't really nailed down exactly what peach's gimmick is in her side games. yoshi has different enough controls that you can do something with it, the gave luigi a completely different type of game in luigis mansion but peach is still plays a lot like main title games (costumes=powerups) best example is mario galaxy without the gimmick of space. you can have fun playing it just feels like it's missing something that makes it a special thing that's just for her in side games.
Honestly I think they could’ve expanded off of the DS peach game, with the different emotions and stuff. Not that they shouldn’t have made this game, but another super princess peach game but better I think could really work depending on execution
yeah, this game feels like it needs a sequel that polishes the ideas already introduced, just like it happened to Kirby where it stayed simple & accessible but it became incredibly polished & nuanced
I didn't like it much because it was just see and act. But if they did in the future a sequel like Kirby and the Forgotten Land, I think that would be amazing
I hope they continue making Princess Peach games and trying all sorts of things with her gameplay and concepts.
You just know this game will be important in the next Death Battle Season.
If there is a new Death Battle season
Yeah... about that... ;_;
i thought you were going to sue
I'm actually a really big fan of this game. My favorite part were the boss fights. I didn't expect this game to have super good boss fights. the game seems to be selling very well. So we'll probably get a sequel. So I'm curious about the future of Princess peach
The bosses were so creative.
Agreed. At least they weren’t the same boss three-four times(looks at Wonder).
I loved the Super Princess Peach Game. It is one of my favorite DS Games. Still have not played this Game. But it will be the next one i play for sure^^
I personally found the game fun and relaxing, but to each their own
Kinda surprised there was a 20 year gap between games that feature Princess Peach as the main character.
Old 👴...
I was really excited for a stand alone Princess Peach game like Luigis mansion, and Yoshi's island. It doesn't look like the worst game, but it's just not very exciting. I'd consider it at $30, absolutely not at $60.
My thoughts exactly. I was really happy to see Peach getting her own spinoff game again, but... I just can't justify spending 60 bucks on something I know is sub-par and rather short gameplay-wise. Maybe if I find it used for cheap, I'll buy it, but I'm not shelling out full price for this.
It's fun. It's totally not worth the full price, but I'd at that about almost any game.
It’s a great game to play with my daughter, she loves it!
my sister is 34 and loved this game lol 😅
I'm 32, and I agree lol
I do agree that it has some issues (with some controls/ completability) but outside of that?
I love it
I think it would at least be a finish it?
I’m hoping to pick this up at some point. Been looking forward to it for a good while.
This game reminds of WarioWorld for GameCube. Super simplistic game that a toddler can play.
I wonder if the theatre theme is a homage to Super Mario Bros 3. The papercraft style of the sets is definitely a homage to recent Switch Nintendo titles.
I don't know...an easy, breezy little game that looks and sounds nice doesn't sound so bad... 🤷♂️ Am I wrong? I...kinda wanna find out, now... 🤔
Go for it. But it sounds like you should wait for it to go on some kind of sale or maybe see if you can get it second hand. Doesn't really sound like a $60 game.
Yeah, this game was cute and fun for what it was, but definitely felt like a missed opportunity. Because it’s really just a fun little game, and a lot of us got excited for Peach with those interesting new costumes, but this won’t go down as a great moment in her history. At least we hope not.

@@samuelgentry4125 pretty nuts, huh?
@@TheTwilitHero yup
I'm kind of disappointed that GoodFeel seems to have peaked with Wooly World, and every subsequent game kept the charm but lost substance, either by the studio or Nintendo's choice. I really want to love their games
Apparently their new JP exclusive game is pretty good
So it's a Kirby game without the difficult back half and with a coat of Peach paint?
Yeah things happened.
Mario games - amazing made for all ages
Luigi’s game - amazing made for all ages love Luigi’s mansion
Toads games - amazing good puzzle games made for all ages
Peach games - made to easy and made for a selected market why WHyyyyy!!!!
all them games are for big baby
Bring back Captain Toad my dude
Hooray!
Why
Biggest missed opportunity with this game was not making amiibos of all of Peach's outfits that unlocked other dresses
Or making it compatible with past amiibos. Shulk dress!
My problem with the game is that, with all the commercials, I just look at it and go "Oh, so it's Kirby but with Princess Peach"
Hope this game gets sequels that continue to add depth and complexity to the series. Just because this game is shallow in the gameplay department doesn’t mean it doesn’t have great potential.
Despite what you say, it’s very clear this game IS marketed to little girls even if it’s not ultra girly and pink it’s unarguably meant for them. Hopefully future games will add more to make it worthwhile for older audiences but you can’t expect too much from this first attempt
Regardless if the game is or isn't for kids/girls or if your kid/girl enjoyed the game, it is not unreasonable to ask for a little more effort put into any media for said demographics. Kids/girls shouldn't be the go to excuse for why less effort was put into products aimed at attracting their attention and time.
which nintendo has shown that they 100% can. this game is low effort in trying to be a broad appeal.
Target Audience
This Feels like balan wonderland. With all its main flaws just packaged with some actual good levels designed around some costumes and better controls.
Weird, I had the exact thought going through my mind through the whole vid. Though to be fair it looks like this game is still leagues above balan.
Probably because they have a similar aesthetic and framing device (a theatre).
To me this felt like balan done right tbh
Jerard, cannot agree with you this time around...
I tried the Demo and was thinking of getting the game for my 9 years old.
She also played Wonder with me, I finished the game - not completed it! - she got stuck on the more difficult levels getting frustrated.
Princess Peach seems exactly tuned to many 4-10 yo girls who are just normal casual gamers.
I'm still thinking to get the game for my daughter ;-)
I just want a Waluigi game and a proper Wario game
Have you seen how many wario games there are. Idk what qualifies as proper to you, whether a wario ware game or platformer but we’ve had wario platformers before in the case of the Wario Land series
@@A_Ali173 Obviously the Wario Land games. Wario Ware is just a bunch of minigames.
Hey, Salvador Dali taught me to never fear perfection.
But perfection is never promised, nor should it, get what you can get.
I found it delightful, and I think they took it as far as they could, but the biggest flaw is that it's not a $60 game. Nintendo really needs to let go of this rigid pricing structure. A DVD boxset of a whole season does and should cost more than a DVD of a single movie. Most of the gaming industry get this logic. Bizarrely even Nintendo does sporadically, with Metroid Prime being reasonably priced.
Reminds me a Disney Land Adventures a bit. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the powers showed up in a Theme Park.
As a grown man this is a refreshing game 🙂
You single?
Refreshing like those terrible super mario maker 2 levels?
This game looks really good and awesome for nintendo to think out of the box and try new gameplay instead of plugging in a typical Mario game with a Princess Peach skin.
i loved the demo. very chill and fun
The main Showtime them hits me want more sad I completed yesterday
For those of you who only saw the intro before doing an "umm... ACTUALLY," click the link: 3:57. Yes, he does acknowledge Super Princess Peach.
I feel like there is a lot of needless nitpicking in this review. The game is good and easy to complete, as well as 100% it. I don't understand all the negativity.
Well, this is the Scampletionist we're talking about here.
Moment i heard goemon it suddenly made sense to me why this game was grabbing my attention
It was cute, I love the outfits and how it was made to look like a stage show, but I felt the game was not the best, but still kind of fun, but it is too simple and short
Yeah the game was easy af.
I love the animation/music but the combat like I said was really easy.
But I would recommend it for kids in elementary school.
I personally found this game to be really fun and enjoyable. I hope they make a sequel game to expand on this concept. I really don’t want to wait another 20 years for them to make another Peach game.
Would have been nice if we could unlock Daisy to play as for a completion bonus
When you said "Radiant Peach" I got...... Flashbacks
What flashbacks?
I feel like so far, Showtime is a perfect first game to give a young child. It's easy, the controls are simple. It never asks too much. It's exactly what a six year old needs to ease them into harder titles. That being said, I only just cleared floor 3.
I call it Princess Peach Loadtime because it has long load times like an early Playstation 1 game.
Pretty sure this game is meant for actual children/toddlers cause this is the type of game my little neices would love and they are 3 and 4 years old and full of energy
It's about time
I’m sure others may have asked but.. where is your review for Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon? 😎
My kids and I love it!
Thoroughly okay games should be at most $50
Yeah, this game may be fun to play, but I can't say it's worth $60. Though I can say the same thing about some other Nintendo Switch games.
@@disneyvillainsfan1666 Nintendo games are remarkably stable on price. Metroid Dread is still almost $50 where I live.
I’ll pick it up at $30 at some point.
This wasn’t her first turn, Super Princess Peach for the DS
Dude, goemon? You just unlocked a DEEP memory man that shit was buried
Thank you for another good look into a game! I think this will be a decent game for my daughter and/or nieces
Think they'll do a sequel with more costume gimmicks? Pirate needs to be a costume
Love watching this guy's videos, but think he is wrong about this one. Had a lot of fun playing it. After finally beating Prince of Persia, I needed a short and easy game. Enjoyed it from beginning to end.
there were a lot of different genres so the levels can be hit or miss
I kinda hope we get a real time strategy game starring Bowser and the Koopa Troop.
I've had my eye on the Princess Peach game since it got announced, mostly spotting it pop up every so often in conversations online, and it's good to see the finished product LOOKS so polished, and yet, it's a shame that for the most part, that's pretty much all it is, is polished looking, while not having enough substance to keep it afloat. It feels like Nintendo's always afraid of what to do with Peach, they can't decide to go in any particularly strong direction, for one reason or another, and it constantly leaves her basically floating in a grey zone, with nothing solid to work with. I'm still hopeful they'll take what they learned from this one, and apply it to a BETTER Peach game down the line, for the sake of giving the Princess her proper due after all these years, but only time will tell. That said, nicely done with this episode, Jirard. Looking forward to the next one.
Crazy showtime!
I'm disappointed that you didn't put your beard on peach in the thumbnail
Or at least the end card 🤣

I would have loved to see Princess Peach with a beard in the thumbnail.
Why .....thats weird
@@sbee5649 But it would be kind of funny. He kind of did that with bayoneta. 🤣
This is one of those games that I didn't think it would be very good but I hoped that it would. It seems I made the correct decision not to buy it though, I think I would be really disappointed if I spent $60 on this.
With a target release of March 2025, myself & many others are surprised to know that the infamous Nintendo Switch console is figuratively riding off into the sunset. If "Princess Peach: Showtime" is truly the last big-name source of fun for said console, I think it's appropriate that the princess of arguably Nintendo's most tremendous game executes a bow at the end. For our mushroom princess, I compose this parody. Ahem...
*Thank you for being our princess, traveling down the pipes & back again. Your power-ups are true. You're a pal and a confidant.
We're not ashamed to say, we hope you'll always play this way. Our Cappy's are off, won't you stand up & take a bow! And if you threw a Mario-party, invited everyone you knew. You would see the biggest star would be from me & the card attached would say: "Thank you for being our princess."
*Thank you, Princess Peach, for being our friend!
These titles surely aren't satire... right?
Well... They certainly might be purposeful.
I think I'm going to test something here and see if peach will work.
Princess Peach is a good game, that isn’t targeting an old man but instead the NEXT generation. You’re not the target of this game and all the young ones are having a blast with it. Heck, me and my partner love it too because it is simply a fun game.
Do Goemon's great adventure
Gameplay trumps style. And yet you give glowing reviews for the newer final fantasy games 😅
Consistently inconsistent
16 was good though? Just because it's not turn based anymore doesn't mean it's bad.
They used the Pokémon gen 1 fight music on the fighting stage for princess peach.
Those “3 Ninjas” Kick back I guess😂
I think the last time we got a truly amazing Marioverse game was Mario Odyssey, WAY back in 2017. Everything else after was "great" but not near that level.
While you aren’t the target audience, it’s good to know completion of the game isn’t necessarily the best way to play this game. Cheers
Peach looks sad in the thumbnail
The floor is indeed made of floor.
