Champion has always been some of the best constructed gear you can get. As a teen in the 80’s even into the 90’s I can always remember the small logo and patch on it plus the quality and the unique feeling of how it was stitched , it’s thickness and long cuffs. It fell off for a while until I noticed it not too long ago staring at me at Canada’s “Sport Chek” , I felt the quality and the materials felt the same, obviously the logo was bigger and stood out beautifully on most especially the duffle I grabbed but the nylon, the zipper and the quality were same old top notch quality, the only thing that changed is the MSRP obviously. Now you’ve got young MMA fighters & Champions like Max “Holloway” rockin Champion satin bomber jackets with massive Champion patch’s on them.
Beautiful to see the old come back. Quality never gets forgotten and the “Champion”name is a tough one to beat for sure. With that said, I just bought a couple of solid Champion hoodies @ Giant Tiger for a steal the other day. Let the “Champ” train roll again.

I remember my dad wearing champion and I was like “that’s some bummy old man gear”. He had a bunch of Jordan and Lacoste shirts yet he always wore Champion. Now we both do and we love it for different reasons. He likes it because it’s comfortable and I like it because all my 90’s rap heroes wore it and it’s easy to pull off for ever day wear.
My dad has noticed that Champion has become more expensive recently and he can’t understand how hype multiplied the price of a casual brand he wore for decades.
I used to rock my Champion shoes and I still have my old Wal-Mart hoodie. Now I see them going for 60$, and they're making higher quality shoes, when back then, you would've gotten roasted HARD for that. I still rock that old hoodie on occasion :D

The main factor why Champion nowadays is so overpriced is that the old champion from walmart were "eco champion" and now its reverse weave which is much much better quality, along with the huge hype surrounding it.

Great video! Giving new generation history of the brand is always important. I wore Russell brand and champion after the 90's because the jersey craze kicked in the early 2000's. Champion and Russell were the only companies, besides G Unit, to keep a jock tag on the lower part of the shirt or sweater. I wanted my T's and sweaters to resemble the jerseys.

They blew up Clarks Wallabee Shoes, too!! Clarks made them colors. The only colors they had for stores was Light Brown Suede and a Cordovan Leather. Stores would buy the Suede and Dye them to Light Blue, Red, Green, Purple. The problem was, when it rained, a kid would leave Blue or Red or Purple footprints when the color ran.
