So true! The Nike shoes that McFly wears in Back to the Future are called "Nike Bruins", which are vintage shoes that are pretty expensive and rare nowadays. The Nike Cortez is the closest you will find in store. Since I am a Back to the Future nut, I still want to get the Nike Bruins, and only the exact same ones Marty McFly has! I was so desperate to finish my Marty McFly outfit to the point where I was considering getting a Cortez but I decided to wait it out and buy Bruin instead if I ever get the chance.

Love how sometimes these things can grow to be symbolically much more than just a shoe.

MS13?, you got your history wrong, dude. I was born and raised in Los, the cholos -which were originally all Mexican and still overwhelmingly are- are the gangsters that started wearing the shoe. While Bloods and Crips wearing Fila, Lottos and other brands in the late mid 80’s, Cholos were rocking the Cortez shoes, usually black, dark blue suede, or white. MS-13 took their style from Mexican gangsters, because the Mara came way later.
