Hi pal, I'm following your video to replace my front grill. Thanks for this tutorial. It's super helpful.
I am struggling with the very bottom two rows of clips (after removing the dust guard 4 mins).
These seem to be grill clips pressing down on bodywork clips (which I need to raise up). Even using pliers and a flat head screwdriver, I can't seem to get these to budge.
Can you share the technique you used for this section specifically?

I need replace mine on a gti but honestly this looks like such a pain to do. I thought you can simply pop it out.
Honestly after having done it once it would be okay but still a massive pain!
I am not entirely sure if the (I assume) golf GTI is the same but I would assume it would follow the same logic as the sciroccos if it is post 2014 it is likely to be a similar procedure, pre 2015 it is a pull from front replacement method! Hope this helps!

No worries at all mate! If it’s a facelift it should be exactly the same! Mines a 2016 Gt so I believe an R line is the same (different grill pattern but same shape) and a 2015 should be a facelift so you should be golden👍
@@NOTaMOD Thanks for the reply! Yes it's a facelift but as you say a different style grille. Hopefully the same process as I can't find anyone doing it on an R line
I can’t imagine they changed the bumper between R line and Gt, would have been too much effort to manufacture haha go for it 💪👍 lemme know how it goes
Hey mate, could you advise how you got the replacement part, was it from a specific official parts website or did you have to contact VW directly?
I called up my local VW garage and they ordered it in for me 👌👍

I am not entirely sure! the grill will definitely be replaceable and if it is post 2014 it is likely to be a similar procedure I believe the sciroccos pre 2015 are a pull from front replacement method! Hope this helps!
Can be frustrating , so better not do this in winter 😀 i was planning to remove it because i want to have it painted glossy black. But only if its 20degree above zero and not below ..Like now💩
100% I did it and at least next time (hopefully never) I will know how to go about it 😂 definitely not a job for winter as I seriously cba for that 😂😂 and yeah may be worth reviewing just painting it on the car haha
@@NOTaMODI would like to paint mine. Would you recommend doing this with the grill still attached? Along with tapping-up / protecting the bumper, what other preps would you do to the grill before painting? Thanks. Great channel.
Can literally use a piece of rope to just pull it out mate. No need to take rhe bumper off
That’s only for the pre facelift, on the facelift you’ll smash the body coloured strip of plastic on the front if you do that👍👌
