    Very cool! I found this video a bit too late. I bought a 1960 Chevy Biscayne and my car started choking and bucking when I was leaving work. It happened right after I got a new tank of gas (car also sat for 20 years from the guy I bought it from, thought corrosion could have clogged the pickup tube.) Changed 60+ year old sending unit, pump, and plugs, still no run. I saw the connector had fallen off of my ballast resistor, so when I went to reconnect it I saw the rod inside had snapped completely in half. Everything that your car is doing is exactly what mine did, short of it able to stay running (albeit horribly) if I gave it a lot of gas.

    Hi pal, I'm following your video to replace my front grill. Thanks for this tutorial. It's super helpful. I am struggling with the very bottom two rows of clips (after removing the dust guard 4 mins). These seem to be grill clips pressing down on bodywork clips (which I need to raise up). • @NOTaMOD
      @NOTaMOD Před 4 měsíci

      That is most definitely a head scratcher! I am no mechanic but if you have replaced all the above mentioned parts it can't hurt to also change the resistor. As you can see for my car it means that the car will start up and run but the second I turn the key from start to run position it cuts off that's where the ignition system circuit is trying to run through the bad resistor and therefore the circuit is being broken. If your car is running and driving I do not believe it should be the case but for a relatively cheap part it might be worth replacing just for piece of mind Let me know how you get on!

    I am probably going to upset a few people here, but I think 3D and 4D number plates don't look that great, and they do tend to attract attention from Plod. Each to their own of course, but personally I prefer a nice, clean 2D plate. The heavy duty Velcro fixing idea is sound, certainly better than screws.

      Fair enough! I guess that's the best bit about cars its all about individuality! It is fair enough thankfully I have not had any issues with the plod with regards to my plates so I must be lucky haha. It is definitely they have been holding on the plates for the Corsa and the Plymouth for years now! Never skipped a beat! Hope your enjoying the channel!

    Hello, I have a similar Android stereo but I can't figure out how to turn it off completely. Holding the power button a few seconds turns off the screen but I feel like the thing is still on. Any advice?

      I don't think they ever turn off stock or not. The radio always has constant power as even without the ignition you can turn it on. so in all honesty I would say there is no issue! Might be like an Xbox where after turning off the screen it takes a minute to power down in the background? Hope this helps!

      @@NOTaMOD Yeah I figured it out some time ago. You cannot turn it off and it's not because it's not connected correctly (as some others suggested), it's designed like this. The radio goes in sleep mode when you remove the key from the ignition and you can set a timer for it to completely shut off after like 1/2/3hr and so on (if you're really worried about the battery). It makes sense because you don't want the radio to restart every time you remove the key from the ignition. Well, I sure don't.

      @@Txb4g Fair enough! I wasn't far off then, would never have thought it would have been connected incorrectly as most of these connectors are only one way and are pre pinned. That 100% makes sense that it would just sit in standby to save on restarting constantly when you just out of the car to go to the shops! Glad you got it sorted! If you liked the video it would be great if you could subscribe! Cheers!

    Thanks for This video, gives me confidence at removing the A727 on my end, also doesn't look like the Torsion bars doesn't need to be screwed with, (I.E adjustments being taken out of whack just to remove the transmission crossmember) Thankfully the issue i'm having is with the torque converter, so once i'm able to source a TQ i might just put the trans back into place.

      No worries at all! Yes I kind of went in blind but with the help of my gearbox rebuilder struggled through and managed it ! Yes definitely easier not having to mess with all that! That is sweet I am debating swapping out my torque converter for something a bit more substantial as I want to put 3.91 gears in it. Lemme know how you get on! There will be plenty more Plymouth content, so definitely subscribe so you don't miss a video!

      @@NOTaMOD Hi again, the TQ I have chosen was from Hughes performance Torque converters. It's a mild TQ with a stall range at 2000/2200 RPM. I had to choose that TQ as the camshaft in the engine is unknown, and a factory cam. Most likely a 256/256 cam, once I'm able to swap the rear gears and the camshaft I can start considering more radical Torque converters.

      Fair play! I am hoping to get into engine mods soon but think I am going to need to upgrade the diff first as the 8 1/4 might as well be made of chocolate haha.

      @@NOTaMOD 8 1/4? Your B body Mopar should have a 8 3/4 differential, plenty strong for what you might have in mind for it.

      Yeah I think as its a 72 and the last year for 400ci engines that they came with 8 1/4s. you can see it in my HOW TO video about checking differential ratios.

    I think you just answered my problem. I took off the HEI Distributor because it sucked . I put my old dis. back on with my Ballast Resistors W/ the 12V hot wire on the coil forgetting it did not need it like the HEI. Now I think that no why it would no start ?

    • @NOTaMOD
      @NOTaMOD Před 4 měsíci

      Yesss, I believe a HEI Diss uses 12V which is why you bypassed it, but I think if the stock runs on the bypass for too long it can fry the coil. so if you did not catch it in time you may now need a new stock replacement coil? Hope this helps! Sub to the channel for more Plymouth content!
